He lived more in his short life than most of us. No pun intended. R.I.P. little dude. Great stuff Jason, alot of us don't have friends who enjoy bad movies so we get to hang with you guys.
He had an interesting life considering where and when he lived. As someone in the documentary said, he had good life but deserved more.
They're the next gen MST3K (RiffTrax) for sure.
I really hope Weng Wengs family know how much joy his movies bring to people.
As of the filming of that documentary, he has one surviving brother (there were 5 boys). Nothing was said about nieces or nephews. Weng Weng had no children.
Weng Weng was a pretty competent martial artist, he trained for a number of years. I went through his home town years ago when I was in The Philippines, was pretty cool to see where he was from. Really enjoyed this episode, couldn't help but have a smile on my face the whole time.
Who'd he spar with? Action figures?

I genuinely respect Weng Weng. He puts 100% into his stunts AND redefines what i thought a little person could pull off. Sure people laugh at him, but he laughs all the way to bank.
23:42 oh he definitely was a skilled martial artist, his moves are very crisp and clean. His agility and balance are great too.
According to his brother he used to hang out at a local dojo and copy the moves. The teacher saw him and invited him to stay to get people to come in. That's where he was discovered.
But whether he got formal training, my guess is no.

Some fun facts...Weng Weng made 5 movies total as a lead actor, including "Agent 00", "D'Wild Wild Weng", and "The Cute... The Sexy n' The Tiny." His real name was Ernesto Dela Cruz.
He was also said to be in a movie that was ET before ET. He played "Moonchild" in costume. But that hard toconfirm.

I believe THIS is the third movie. According to wikipedia (because we all know how reliable that is), Agent 00 was his first leading role. For Your Height Only was the sequel, followed by The Impossible Kid.
