Kola was playing so well this tournament. It's awesome seeing him get this far and make 4th! Shadic is on another level with these reverse 3-0s though. He is the best Corrin.
@@Nobody45602Because it's cheesey, easily punishable, and risky? In top level play, you almost only ever see it taking advantage of recoveries off stage.
@@Nobody45602 High risk and usually low reward outside of a few scenarios- only really becomes worthwhile as a way of gimping recoveries- otherwise it's a hard read because it's such a commitment
I really wanted to see a Kola/Onin rematch because I think Kola would have managed it well using Cloud. And a GF between Sparg0 and Kola would have been pretty epic. It's unfortunate Kola lost here to Shadic because I feel like he didn't really have to. It was well within his capacity to bag this win but he didn't seem to be playing his best. Looking forward to seeing how Kola performs in the future.
Great set, but you could tell Kola played so scared games 3, 4 and a bit of 5. Constantly double jumping and airdodging to center stage hoping he could slip past SHADIC's juggles. He was on point games 1 and 2, though. He reverted back a bit game 5, but it just wasn't quite enough. Darn. Really wanted him to win, but GG's to both players.
@@alpha7even928 Huh? I mean yeah that's true but I was talking about the entire tournament, how it feels like something clicked with him, his gameplay seemed to take a massive 180 in the MKLeo set, before that he wasn't looking too great but mid set he flipped a switch and started playing so well, its as if something clicked with him.
"For free" as my opponent dairs the ledge, killing me at 30% Chrom being able to space to avoid counters isn't anywhere close to enough to let him use it as a recovery tool sadly
@@MrFraynejames it's not getting two framed when you're at the ledge with no hitbox for more than two frames- he simply takes too long to grab the ledge even if you space it well- also some characters can avoid being two framed lol. Even Chrom's counterpart, Roy, has a non-twoframeable angle with his up b- it's incredibly easy to see when Chrom has to up b and the window to kill him for it is so massive it's free as hell to hit nearly every time. That's definitely not the same as getting two framed sometimes because your opponent happened to time their thing right 1 time out of 10 tries
@@MrFraynejames I've literally never seen that at all or even heard of it. Are you saying he just snaps on the way up if you space it right? I feel like I would've seen that by now if so. Even if he could do that- which I don't believe he can- he still has no hitbox on the way up and has no mix up on his timing so he's still getting bodied for it regardless
REALLY nice back and forth set, that was a nail biter at the end there. I love how both players were swinging on each other until the final seconds. Kola's playstyle is incredibly aggressive and fun to watch!
You know it's a good set when you realize you weren't breathing the last thirty seconds
True! I was so worried for the first 3. Then the last 2 were just pure hype, that last one I think I held my breath the entire set Xd

This might be the best set in the whole tournament!!!
"too tired to pop off" hoolllyy shit.
I love it when players pick a stage/song to go to, it's like their own boss music lol

You can't be hit out of Chrome up b until it reaches the top of the arc. If you get the spacing right, you'll be able to grab the ledge for free.
