this is a horrific story - poor Sophie, who did nothing wrong and ended up in the hands of these two people who had no self control or decency. That poor, poor girl.
How about calling them what they were: evil, cruel, vicious killers. Hope they get what they have coming and that they suffer and know what’s coming before they die.
Sophie was a very kind, empathetic person, the perfect person for a mother or childcare worker. From her last note, part of the reason she didn't leave was to protect her young charges from their mother and her partner. Poor Sophie. What a cruel end to a gentle soul, someone everyone would wish to have in their life.
Yup. Its a joke here. 'Life imprisonment' rapidly diminishes with time served, good behaviour, maximum sentence tariffs, parole eligibility etc. It's insulting to victims and their families.
It seems unbelievable that clearly very sick people don't get medicated to prevent their distructive illnesses. Her behaviour had long been so clearly irrational and paranoid. As for the husband, well, I don't know what was wrong with that pathetic creature-- obsessed with his (x)wife to such a degree he'd go along with anything.
My heart breaks for poor Sophie such a gentle kind person, poor poor girl, she didnt deserve and they two monsters didnt deserve her. Rest in piece poor Sophie ❤
Mark was supporting Sabrina, Sabrina ruined it with countless false accusations and abuse. She then blamed Sophie for the consequences of her behaviour, not Sophie’s. Her mental health was not delusions, these were choices to avoid accountability. Sabrina has full blown narcissism and her partner was merely her servant!
The word narcissism is thrown around so much these days that it sounds almost innocuous.. In my day that word stood for , self entitled , a big head , a bully , jealousy , envy . Having that title bestowed on someone is like saying , “it’s beyond my control” so I am innocent.. I’m surprised no one has tried to use that as a “defence in Law”jokes!!
Of course I feel the worst for Sophie and her mother, but I watched an interview with Mark and really felt so bad for him as well. He feels responsible for what happened to Sophie, and showed the interviewer that he keeps her picture in his wallet. I can't imagine waking up one day and finding out that you unknowingly played a part in someone's death. Obviously what Sabrina did is not Mark's fault, but the guilt must be insane.
I would never ever let a 20yo daughter as gentle as Sophie was work for complete strangers as a live in employee in another country. That said I'm sure her parents in their worst nightmare could've imagined that Sophie would end up being brutalized to death by a woman who apparently was devoid of empathy at a molecular level ...just too many monstrous people in the world to be naively permissive with any loved ones' lives. At 20yo I barely survived my own naivety in Los Angeles being exposed to a religious cult where on the surface I could come and go as I pleased (where I was tethered under their canopy of thoughts and beliefs).
Shut up, stop talking about yourself being exposed to a religious cult at 20 years old, this has nothing to do with this case and you're just trying to get sympathy. Also you're sick for blaming Christie Marceau's mother for opening the door and didn't know that Akshay Chand was the one knocking on the door.
She was 21, just letting you know heh 😅 but now I'm intrigued. Would you be comfortable with telling me your story? If not, that is totally understandable 😊
Abuse can just be as bad at home . I suffered from SA from the age of 9 onwards from my father and 2 older brothers. From that age I had the responsibility of looking after 4 younger siblings too. I was controlled by threats of death , beatings , being put in care , etc . Left home at 17 , met someone , had a son , then 10 years down the line , one of my sisters started an affair with him , we split up, they had a daughter and we’re together for 30 years until his death in 2020. Two weeks before he died they got married. After the ceremony which took place at their home, my son’s father turned around and said to my son , “you do realise she’s your stepmum now”!
Sophie did everything and more that the children's parents, especially their mother, should've been doing. I don't see anything wrong with having a nanny or an au pair but treating them this way is indefensible.
Domestic workers from overseas who work in private homes have so little protection from abuse. Horrible case, RIP Sophie

@@rashone2879 tbh l couldn't think of a way to describe them as they're so completely sub-human, but your description works perfectly.
First time I ever heard of a pathological liar saying "I hate lies." What a whopper!
Casefile is on another level. Consistently great content 👏
Just wanted to say I love this podcast! Well done to all the people involved!

Europe really needs to stop using the term life in prison
I agree ☝️

Bit annoying with the RUclips ads on top of the Casefile ones. But as always, awesome narration and very sad, compelling and well-written story.
I agree, I turn the volume down through some but after a while it gets repetitive. Still this is one of my favorite channels on RUclips. 😎
Can you not listen on spotify or a podcast app?
Iv never seen such cruelty, oh my heart goes out to poor Sophie, poor girl x

The ads don't bother me at all 😊😊😊
So sad

They are pure evil, nothing to with Sabrina's and her fake mental health.
Thanks.
This case is so frustrating and unfair..
Please look into Sarah Scazzi case ,so many twists and turns
Why nobody call police during the abuse? Are some people just born to be prey?
Two embedded ads in a row? Dropped.
The horror 👽
i've never heard of this before. we do need something like crimewatch although this one wouldn't qualify.
Sophie did everything and more that the children's parents, especially their mother, should've been doing.
I don't see anything wrong with having a nanny or an au pair but treating them this way is indefensible.
The structure of this one is confusing.
Borderline, well that explains a lot. NOT. DONT MAKE EXCUSES FOR BAD BEHAVIOR.
NEEDS PICTURES

I really wanted to listen but there are more ads than content on this channel. No thanks.
I enjoy the channel but to many ads. So, I won't subscribe. A few less ads, and I would reconsider.
Sophie’s life did not matter.
malignant narcissistic abuse at its finest expression
I am confused didn't you did this case before. I definitely heard this before
