How to Make a Beer Can Chicken

  • Indulge in the juicy tenderness of beer can chicken, infused with a custom chicken rub "Winner Winner" that will elevate every bite.     1. Start by getting a raw whole chicken from the grocery store.
    2. Prepare the rub or pirchase from ‪@StonevilleBBQ‬ (coming soon)
    3. Create a bind, this assits in the tub adhering to the chicken. This is 1/2 the beer can and honey, whisk this well before basting or pouring onto the chicken.
    4. Generously cover the chicken with the rub ensuring the rub gets into every crevasse.
    5. Insert the beer can via the opening and stand up on a backing tray. Any leaft over bind? Pour that into the baking tray underneath chicken. You may wish to add a little more water if there isn’t enough liquid.
    6. Carefully place the chicken into the oven at 180°c for 1.5 hours. When removing from the oven be super careful as you dont want the chicken to topple and cause a beer-tastrophez
    Rest for 5min and calve.
    Gravy
    Place majority of the trays juices into a small pot (reserving 2 tbsp) into the 2 tbsp add 2 tsp of corn flour and mix well, you habe just made a slurry.
    In the pot you should have at least 2 cups of stock. If not you can add some vegetable or chicken stock and you can top it up with a little of the beer from the chook (be careful it might be hot).
    Bring to a simmer and porni the slurry, mix until disired thickness.
