Lol two weeks ago i was at a freshwater lake, and i accidentally got tons of water up my nose bc i miscalculated the depth while jumping.
After that i was a bit afraid, but you dont have to be.
Here are some things that are important if you stress about having amoebas eating your brain:
    - all documented cases of this infection was in children below 16. Thats bc the amoeba has to literally eat its way to the brain from the nose, and as you grow up the tissue there gets harder to "eat through".
    - infections are incredibly rare! Here in hungary the lake were i swam gets literally millions of ppl in it every week during summertime, yet no infections were ever recorded since we know about this amoeba.

I know you're probably alive rn but chat gpt says:
Brain-eating amoeba, scientifically known as Naegleria fowleri, can be found in warm freshwater environments such as lakes, rivers, and hot springs. However, it is very rare to find them in tap water, especially if the water is properly treated and maintained by a municipal water supply system. Municipal water treatment processes, such as chlorination and filtration, are designed to eliminate harmful microorganisms like Naegleria fowleri.
Still, in extremely rare cases where there are issues with water treatment or distribution systems, there could be a risk. It's important to follow local water quality guidelines and take precautions, such as not allowing water to enter your nose when using tap water for activities like nasal irrigation or swimming in warm freshwater. Checking with local health authorities can provide information specific to your area's water quality.

    Instead, Amoeba is eating brain.

N.floweri are actually harmless to be honest. Their main job is to devour other microbes, once they find they turn into huge feeding size trozopian size kind of thing. And the reason why they feed onto your brain is because of olfactory nerves that are connected to your frontal lobe of the brain. It kinda reminds them of the "Scent" of microbes they like to eat, so always boil, sterilize, distilled or filter that block them.

Yeah but this does not prevent the amoeba from living in standing water and in warmwater pipes.
But in general there are way more common and dangerous things that can develope in standing warm water pipes or tanks.
Here a hotel had a Legionella outbreak. Its a very nasty lung damaging bacteria.
It does not spread from human to human but contaminated water spreads its very easily.
