I would love to see how the mega cab looks again on a set of 9.00 r16 tires. Especially with an old school set of bias ply tires, that fit the time period. I always love and had success with the most aggressive tires possible in rear and a steer tire in front. Giving it a semi look. Even on my 4x4 plow trucks, it provides almost like a front tire to be a ski in the snow. I also remember a friend of my pops having an old square body single cab dually. He always had 285/75r16 tires on front and 255/85r16 on the rear dual. Slightly lifted, it looks so good. Like it needed a bigger tire but so badass you wouldn't mess with it.
If that rear axle is a sterling 10.25", you can look for a wrecker 10.5" from 2011 and newer. Those have an optional factory E-locker that is backwards compatible. I have one in my 1986 F250 (SRW) and it works well.
Wow ! The start up brings back so many memories. Dad and grandpa both had 6.9 idi F-250s back in the day. If I ever find a rust free cab I'd get it and buy Dads truck back and make it new again. Right now my 01 3500 Rams rust is almost too depressing to tihnk about. Thanks for taking us with😊
Great job Colt, if I don't get the chance before the big day, I hope you and all your family and friends has a great Christmas and a fantastic new year youngster, you all deserve with the year you've had, and know that Dad is looking down 9n you with a smile on his face, take care mate and all the bear. 🇬🇧👍
I grew up raising Christmas trees on a farm. I couldn't imagine the thought of Christmas without the possibility of snow. Saying that I remember Christmas with 8 inches(20 centimeters) of snow and other Christmas were it was 78°F (26°C) and we were playing football outside in shorts.
That's a nice little tree! The clips of old blue in its original state and now as a dually was awesome. I had no doubt I'm my mind old blue wouldn't pull his way out of the ice. As always Colt great video and merry Christmas to you and your family. Cheers
I got the icy burnouts i asked for!! ole blue got some damn good power to spin some duals, Peggin Leggin would be proud of this production. Merry Christmas Eh?
I have three time period correct bumpers that would look awesome on your truck but the shipping from Missouri to Canada to give them to you would be more than what they're worth. 😂
Have you ever thought about adding a power adder to that old idi? I'm not talking about a spoolie wheel either. RUclips search "supercharged idi" or "6.9 supercharged" or anything like that. Someone years ago did it with good results.
@@highostablegarage man you did an awesome job I got so jealous I took a 93 crew cab and Frame and bullnosed it. Lol then I am currently swapping in a dana 60 solid axle and dt360 swap in place of the 7.3 idi
@@highostablegarage just warning you I've done a dt466 swap. Body lift and firewall mods are a must!! I welded/fab my mounts. I boxed in the frame and made my own crossmembers. Sterling rear dana 60 up front.
Hey man hope that truck doing ya good also I would like to ask were you got them mirrors and my truck when starting it hesitates then turns on do you know what might be the problem
Check amps going to glow plug relay when the glow plugs are turning on, controller or main feed wire could be going bad, and as for mirrors f600s for the structure and princess auto for the mirror itself 👌
I got an 86 f350 Idi with a leak from injector number one, tried some new o rings. Didn’t work. I got photos from where the leak comes from. If anyone has had an issue similar let me know a solution
She’s a beaut Clark. Seriously though, you did a great job.
Tenement on wheels, just kidding she's mint!👌
Little sparse, lots of sap haha 😂

Already has 8 - 16s military’s on it, used to have 36x9s military back in version one of old blue too, I liked those tires a bunch too 👌

Very good to know, do you use the whole housing or just the locker?

Do i detect a need for 4 tire chains, a bed stack and a tractor flap?!?!
Haha, great job! Old rig rips in the woods mint!
Tire chains might be coming haha 😂
That was some serious snowrunner shit! Loved it
Yes sir 👌

Merry christmas from New Zealand. Nice to see all the snow. Its summer here so we have a very different christmas. Love the truck.

Haha 😂 pretty much
I was so looking forward to this video!! Been watching last years since December 1st lol
That’s awesome haha! Might even do another since I have a buddy who wants one haha 😂
Your going to have to add ol Blue 2.0 to the video intro sooner or later.
Hopefully sometime in the new year we will have an updated into and outro 👌
Another great video 👍👍
Much appreciated 👌

@@highostablegarage sounds good! I'll be sure to tune in.
Love that old truck. Merry Christmas to you and yours buddy 👍
You too! Merry Christmas 🎄
I need to build one myself for towing to race events
you should get a set of chains for the beautiful old girl
It’s on the list haha 😂 I used to have a good set for my 36s, I have to make some for these tires for sure
Paint isnt even all that bad! I liked the one wheel peel at the end. Merry Xmas Bud!
Haha 😂 technically two wheel peel xD
Technically you'd have 6 wheel drive and not 4 wheel drive. 😂
@@kevenhiemie very true haha 😂
It's a big blue truck... haulin a Christmas tree

Now you will need a mega winch !

Yeah the shipping is brutal haha 😂
You should add some amber and red clearence lights to your dually flares
truck looks mint just add some spacers in the back

Merry Christmas Legend.
Miller Locker, just saying😜
Used to have one, actually still do on the shop floor but they are some expensive on tires haha 😂
@@highostablegarage
Haha.
Yeah, rubber ain't cheap these days. The Toyo OC MTs in 235/85r16 I bought in 2020 for £101 are now £132....on offer!
Shes a beast!! That old ferd is just minty!!! Any plans to lift it and bigger mud tures?
Maybe some more aggressive mud tires or ice chains for the winter at least
