- Marcus Hayes found this f-350 for sale and couldn't pass up on the opportunity to revive the beautiful 1993 ford crew cab long bed with the original body style. After givi8ng her new fluids, battery, gas, and tires it drove like a dream!
What a diamond in the rough u have. Best Ford trucks ever in my opinion.
What a beautiful truck. Glad you saved it!
Love the 90s fords....
What a solid truck I would love to have one like that.
Have always loved that color combo, can't go wrong with a crew cab long box!
Have a 92 F-350 with the 460. Ex Air Force, then railroad mechanics truck, now me ! Runs forever, snow plows in winter. You have a good one there as well 👍👍 Thanks for the video !
By far the best OBS color combo. Nice truck
My dad just bought me the same truck cuz i turned 16 this year and it had a 351 Cleveland swap so it sounds like 71 mustang. YUMMY.
Well done. I think my friend in Northern CA has a similar age F250 extended cab long bed with a worn out engine just sitting on his ranch. I wonder if a 7.3 turbo could be swapped in for its old 7.3 non-turbo. Not dirt cheap, but cheap compared to a modern diesel, and a lot less trouble. That's a paper wasp nest. Bees are completely different. I keep them in hives in my yard.
I've ecently swapped in a 7.3 with factory turbo into my 91 crew cab that had a worn out 7.3idi
It went quite well.
First engine swap I have ever done.
Damn what a score. Nice Rig my man, I absolutely love that truck.
Thank you!
Sweet truck, I got a 95 250 with the 460. I'm glad to see these trucks are getting saved, mine was as a shop truck at a marina, left in a back storage lot for years. These old OBS truck are great and have decades left of work in them
He looks so happy. Good job young man.
Video made me so happy. Had a similar situation buying my ‘97 F250HD with the 460 from a ranch where it had sat for two years near Colorado Springs. I’ve had my share of projects to do on it but it’s so worth it these trucks are sweet.
My first truck was a 97 f-250 extended cab with a 460 and a five speed. Had 176,000 miles on it when I got it. Tough truck.
That is a nice truck, great find. You might be able to save the sheet metal around the bed wheel wells. That 460 will be a thirsty devil.
Great video gents, what a sweet sound when that mutha fired up. When I was 26 (1980) I found a 70 GMC 4 x 4 with a blown engine, a leaky rear gas tank that I bought. Had a great time learning and bringing it back to life.. I live in Colorado too and I moved to Phoenix in it and I just could not keep that old boy on the road. It hated the heat but what an excellent find!
What a dream rig . I would love that car in Australia. Amazing F350
Dont know why people want the shorter beds when it comes to old trucks. Long beds like this are superior
Just got my first pickup started today, sat for over 7 years, had to put a new oil pump, fuel pump, tranny lines, radiator, starter/ battery, and fluids in it. But she fired right up this morning, took it for a tester and it was amazing. 78 f150 351m
i have a 1993 ford f 350 crew cab 4x4 with a 7.3 idi non turbo ,its a fantastic truck
i would not trade it for a new truck i like the obs fords i have three of them
I have one of these as well, but a 250. And I agree, this truck is one of the best by far.
Excellent job bringing it to life again. Way to go
Lucky boys man that truck way nicer then the ones I see daily
Beautiful truck man my mom just gave me my dad’s which is a 1996 F150 XLT with the five point no 302 in it. I love it.
These OBS fords are the best, my 94 F150 got me from Salt Lake City to weld county Colorado.
Sick truck. Love the red and white paint.
That one is worth saving, the rust isn't too bad. I have that truck in a 94 F350 turbo IDI, 4wd, 5 speed, grey interior with captains chairs up front (Texas it's whole life and no real rust). It was my long term build that I have not yet finished, compared to my Yukon XL Denali it rides like a lumber wagon, but I do love it.
Good feeling when it starts. Cool truck
That is an awesome truck. 👍
I'm sitting here thinking, wow, ten years, so long ago! I bought a 95 460 truck that was parked in 2014. Bought it in late 2015, now im looking back going wow, that was almost 10 years ago!
I never get that lucky trying to crank old trucks and tractors. Usually after getting so far i find there's a cracked block or engine locked up. Went to look at a free mahindra tractor. Loaded up tons of equipment to jack with it and try to get it cranked. First thing i did was pulled the dipstick. Jet of coolant shot out. Went ahead and got back in the truck and went home lol
This is awesome. I just bought a 1996 F350 crew cab.
THAT IS BEAUTIFUL. I HAVE A 2008 350 CREW CAB.
Nice! My first new vehicle purchase was that generation f-series, a 92 F150, 4x4, reg cab, longbed
That’s a bad ass truck my dad had the exact truck when I was a kid
Beautiful two tone truck. It’ll clean up real nice.
A great find! Love it. Fix her up like new.
Nice find🍻
Gotta love those inner fender mounted solenoids. I've helped many people start their Fords that way.
Nice ride!
I LOVE THOSE KIND OF TRUCKS❤❤
I will save another one. This is my dream truck I am 16 but I have hopes that some day I will own one
460 Big Block a Tank of an engine. Nice find.
fun watch.congrats on the find!
Reminds me of when I bought and saved a 92 f250 ext cab 7.3 idi awesome thing replaced everything sold it needed the money. I regret it every time I see pictures on my phone.
Nice one!!
Good truck.
My dad said he is giving me an obs for my first car. Man that's crazy though how it's been sitting that long and still runs
10 years and it starts right up with just a new battery new gas woow ford Built Tough
I’m currently looking at a 94’ f350 crew cab 4x4 460 as well, solid red, 35s and the best part, it’s got a visor. He’s not sure if he wants to sell it even thought it’s been sitting for years as well (nothing wrong with it he just didn’t have a use for it anymore and didn’t want to get rid of it) but he said if he decides to sell it he’ll sell to me for blue book, $2500. I’m praying on it lol
GLAD THAT YOU SAVE THE TRUCK BECAUSE NOT VERY MUCH LIFE THOES OLD TRUCK OUT THERE ANYMORE ❤❤
Sweet ride.
OH Man beautiful truck!
Beauty!
I had the same truck. Geez I miss good ole Candy Cane.
Very cool man I would hang on to that one!
Great find!
Damn, that is a nice truck
God damn shes a beauty. Take care of her
I gotta sub just so I can see you work on it. Great truck!
Don’t know why somebody would let a truck like that just sit for 10 years.
460 big block..that's why
@@jonthomsen7433 they’re good pickups but I own one and only drive it if I have to 😂
@jonthomsen7433 Nothing wrong with the 460, great engine!!
@@Shop_Simplicity just gas prices
@@Shop_Simplicity I don't see how anyone could afford to drive one lol the fuel gauge moves with the tach lol
f23k YOU ARE LUCKY TO FIND THIS
The most shocking thing to me is the brakes and calipers weren't lock up. That's insane
Make it a zf5 7.3 and that would be a badass truck😊
Shoot I’d love to have an OBS Ford 4x4 to drive around in, great trucks
Agreed great job.
I have a 93 3/4 ton, 460. These things are notorious for exhaust manifold gasket leaks! I gotta do mine this summer & im not looking forward to it!
Hell ya guys!!!!!!
460 is a great motor.
Walmart actually has good batteries. Especially the Everstart Maxx. They made by the same companies that make the brand name batteries.
Holy shit check out that NG truck the background at 2:35. I drove the same model working with them on Fort Bragg. What a surpirse.
Hi I have f250 four wheel drive extended cab short bed 1996 love it
And figured I'd mention pretty sure those e4od take Mercon trans fluid, and the 460 takes 10w 30, Idk if that type f would hurt the trans, but that's for old old ford transmissions. In the engine I run a diesel spec 10w 30 in mine, for one reason, diesel oil has a higher zinc content for flat tappet cams. I bet no one did it for the 250k before me, so it's probably unnecessary, but I still do it.
Love those 🇺🇸🏁👀
NOT BAD LOOKING TRUCK ❤❤
Hell yea
I hope you're going to put 5W-30 or even 10w-30 oil at least in that engine. Regardless of what the internet says you shouldn't run that thin of oil in those old engines. They weren't designed for it. I recently bought a 1994 f150 with a 351 and the previous owner ran 5w20 in it. Piston rings are shot and needs an overhaul. lm just trying to save you from some problems in the future.
That truck takes Mercon V ATF, only the 1986 and older C6 trucks use Type F. Putting Type F will eat the shift solenoids and other parts up.
U should use that water for the coolant system
I am officially jealous.
Those are some of my favorite trucks and I'm not a ford fan. Cool truck!
Have a 96 same color 7.3 125k miles!
I have a 95 with 60,000 originally miles
Old school trick..... if truck has been sitting a long time.... pull plus, squirt marvel mystery oil in each hole and either manually turn crank or bumper started to avoid dry scrape of ring on cylinder.... old dudes taught me this & am pretty sure it's legit. What do you think ?
I need some help I have the same truck every time I do a turn the wheel shakes rapidly I replace the gearbox and the tie rods still get steering wheel shake when turning
Hey man you have a truck page on any social media? Clean rig
Nice truck. I probably would of went with 5w30 over 5w20
I a set of them ford log nuts if you need it
Thats a grown man's truck rite there hoss..
Change the fuel filter--under the truck about where the dr seat is. The Walmart battery is as good-or bad-as any other battery--watch this on RUclips!
That’s one sexy truck
Use vr1 20w50 the zink is good for it
She’s a beaut
so what did you end up doing with this truck??????
@traildawgz I bought this truck in NH from the dude you sold it to
She still lives in NH w me
I gotta ask how much you paid for this old 460
Why was it parked?
Sounds like the exhaust manifolds are leaking, I believe these did not have gaskets from the factory. Since its such a clean truck, the manifolds are probably ok. I'd recommend removing them and having them machined flat. I have a 87 460 F250 and I used cheap gaskets with copper max temp RTV that sat up overnight, hasn't leaked in 3 years.
On my 77 Cherokee with an AMC v8 I had the factory manifolds machined and used Remflex graphite gaskets and stainless bolts. That's really the right way to do it.
Oh also, my truck has duel tanks. The gauge doesnt work at all, reads empty for the rear and full for the front at all times. One of these days i'll drop the tanks and change the sending units. Very surprised the fuel pump was ok and you didnt pop a soft brake line after 10 years of sitting!
460....COULD NOT PASS A GAS STATION,COULD BRING THE STATION WITH YA!!!!
I wouldn’t even scuff and bondo that rust it’s so lil I would just treat it with oil and then fluid film it will stop and prevent further rust significantly better
What’s the update on this truck?
I almost bought that truck. It's been on Marketplace for a while. But now it's back on Marketplace... why are you selling it so soon?
Does it get like 8 miles a gallon?
Nice. I have a 93 302 F150 with 169,000 miles. Change your fuel filter …🇺🇸
Best,
