- FIRST LOOK: The CX-70 is here and Mazda is bringing a 2-row midsize SUV. The CX-70 competes with the Genesis GV80, BMW X5, Mercedes Benz GLE etc.. On the outside you will discover new 21in wheels, fluid style and a panoramic sunroof. On the inside you will be greeted by an all new red Nappa leather. @@chrisgelo1425 I can totally understand about the analog gauges but the center one is full digital. The non-ventilated rear seats is a major ZONK!

Forget all these people saying it's too long for a 2-row or that it's just a 2-row CX-90. THIS is exactly what I want for my next vehicle; 2 row SUV with a ton of cargo room. With Ford discontinuing the Edge, there's not going to be anything like this. And it will be an optional PHEV for added fuel economy. So as long as the price sits nicely between the CX-50 and 90, I'm keeping this vehicle on my radar. Hopefully Mazda will inspire other manufacturers to make large 2-row CUVs instead of boxing us between a compact crossover with very little space and a 3-row with wasted space due to it's useless third row. I like this size-for-everyone approach by Mazda.

Why not just get a cx90 and fold down the 3rd row?
@isanchez9839 Very doable, but it's not flat with those seats down and comes with extra cost and use of that space. I.e., chargers or cupholders back there, etc. I'm very interested in this one myself.
@@uploadtime1780I’m a huge Mazda fan but this was a miss. The general public and car reviewers tend to agree. I wished Mazda took the CX60 platform and used it for the CX70
@@isanchez9839 well if it is, its going to likely cripple the brand financially. They are all in on this platform.
I love how this one is all blacked out with the sexy red interior. Mazda seems to make vehicles that are both fun and practical for multiple types of trips.

I have a Jaguar F-Pace. It’s been a great SUV and I’ve had no problems with it. I’m going to keep it until the fact warranty runs out. I’ve been looking and I just don’t like any other SUV as much as I like the Jag, except this CX 70. This will probably be my next SUV.

Okay, Joe. Since Mazda has completed its SUV lineup with the CX70 in North America, I hope that Mazda will now bring that same magic and turn their attention to reviving the Mazda 6. With that, they could even discontinue the 3 since I think sales have slumped to make some more room. Then, hopefully, by making that move, Mazda will inspire other automakers to bring back faith into their sedans for fans of them like me and start a sedan comeback 😏

I got to drive the 2024 CX 90 and I was blown away. It was soo luxurious and drove like a small car.

I just recently got a 2024 CX-90 Phev, pretty much looks the same minus the 3rd row. I think its one of the best looking SUV's out there for the price. I think this will fit into the market perfectly!

Everything I like about the CX-90 (Almost) and none of what don't. I would love the 2 buckets with that deep center console in the back. I love the spacious cabin. Also the generous sub-floor storage. The interior trim is great. It comes with Alexa control of the climate system (and other stuff) which negates having to use the "knob" while underway, if desired. I saw another video with red leather, but it was a beautiful, darker red, not like the MDX. THIS is what I want! Nice job, Joe & Laurie!

I love those cars and I highly anticipate upgrading my Cx-5 turbo to the cx-70 or cx-90. then I need a type r civic....

Joe. I just got my Cousin a 2024. Mazda CX-5 Carbon Edition Loaded. The Smell of the leather when you open the doors 🚪 is unbelievable. Mazda has really stepped up thier game in the Auto Industry!! Thanks Joe & Lorie for what you do for the viewers!!

Leather smells like that because it’s a very chemically invasive process, unfortunately. It’s not something to celebrate rather to hope it off gasses quickly.
@@johnjohng668 I know what leather smells like. I am a Retired VW/Audi Representative for 37 years. So very aware. As some leather smells like that for a short period of time. I have seen leather in Mazda smell like that for over two years in a vehicle. And no she did not have a VW or Audi in her budget

Bought my wife a CX-5 Carbon. She won’t let me drive the car. If we have to go somewhere, she has to drive. Overall, the car is insanely good.
Thanks for a great first look, Joe! Mazda certainly has come a long way since I got my CX-7 in 2007! I can't wait for a test drive when my dealer gets one in (we've been a Mazda family - 2004 3 hatch, 2007 CX-7, 2016 3 sedan - 2 of 'em, 2019 CX-5 & 2019 3 hatch).

Yes, The CX-7 was a great vehicle. In my mind and purpose, the perfect size for older folks like me that do not need 3 ROW SUVs. That's what Mazda should have done with this SUV, the new CX-70. The Straight 6 Turbo is a great engine, with a smaller vehicle and less weight, better MPGs with the same HP/Torque.

Dang it is so gorgeous! Looks pretty aggressive in the black. Love how it sits lower than the cx90 but has that long profile.
The styling and the interior look incredible. I just wish it wasnt a CX 90 without a 3rd row.

@ashgrant2402 meaning it's the same as the 90 not a unique vehicle aside from the 3rd row missing. They are identical in length. Basically the same car.

Love the new CX-70!! I have a ‘21 CX5 CE Turbo with 1.5 years of payments left. Once it’s paid off, I’ll drive it for another year or so then go find a black CX70 with that red interior!!
The black on black with the red interior is beautiful. Almost makes me regret getting my 2023 CX 5 Carbon Edition and not wait on this CX 70. I still love my CX 5 though
Mazda is a joke for selling the cx 5 all these years with no real redesign😩 That car is so outdated in the interior and they just keep adding little changes to keep selling it. This cx70 is long overdue. I wonder if they plan on discontinuing the cx5🤔

@9trf690 The cx5 won't be discontinued just yet, as mazda said it will sell alongside the cx-50. Yes, the current design is long in the tooth outdated... but word is the redesign is coming in 2025. Stay tuned.

They add little tweaks to make it seem like people are getting something new for their money, but it’s overall still very outdated compared to the rest of the vehicles in their lineup. Same thing Chrysler and dodge have done with the 300 & Charger/ Challeneger….

Finally a review on the high-anticipated CX-70! Very nice and you’ve helped me solidify my decision on the 90. I want the ventilated back seats and now that I know the body style is the same (both kinda egg shaped in the rear), the 90 just offers a bit more ‘premium/luxury’ for the money imo. Thanks again for the honest review!

i have always loved how mazdas look, specially on wine red. I even have a mazda 2 from 2012 and its running like a charm since i bought it three years ago.
I work at mazda and this is absolute beast! The cx90 is my favorite style suv however the third row ruined it for me so this is absolute killer! Might actually get this!

Car and Driver wrote "We Think Mazda Is Trolling Us with the CX-70". I agree. Essentially just a CX-90 without a 3rd row.

It is. He has said he just talks off the top of his head and gets it right. He is used to talking a lot because he was a teacher for 10-15 years or so. His wife has also stated that he has a gift to start talking when the camera rolls and he can get it right with little preparation and doesn’t need a script.

The CX-70 looks like a 2 Row CX-90. It doesn’t even look shorter than the CX-90. They should of shortened it a bit more, it still looks too big for a 2 Row SUV
Another review said it was basically the same vehicle without the third row and with the badge

I know everyone says to just fold the third row of seats down if you don’t need them, but I can see Mazda marketing it was the longest 2 row SUV (if it indeed is). I just don’t know what price difference it needs to be. Maybe $10k at the top trim.

Let's hope that the CX-5 does not disappear with its 2.5 and 2.5 liter turbo engines that are so good. I have a turbo carbon edition from 2021 with a red interior, but what I like most about this cx-70 is the dashboard, it also has red leather, the carbon does not have red, only the seats are red
The CX70 really does look like CX-90 with no third row. But it really looks amazing! I love it how they made it spacious just like the CX-90!

You don't see fog lights on the 30, 5, 50, and 90.... why would they on the 70?? Mazdas lights are bright enough that you really don't need fog lights.

Btw, I also realize it’s a manufacturing trend with other manufacturers.
@v.maharaj3365 Honestly, fog lights are literally useless with the LED-headlights, which are bright and illuminate the road in front widely

the black on black is superb. just bought a CX50, the 70 isn't what we need right now...otherwise it may have been worth waiting for, looks awesome.

All of my Mazdas have been well built and even passengers comment that the cars feel tight and solid. Many are still made and assembled in Japan

Why isn't this just a CX-90 Special Edition? I was expecting the 70 to be smaller and sit between the CX-5 and CX-90 in terms of size.
And they even already have that in the CV-60 that they sell in other parts of the world. It’s crazy
The CX-50 is in between the CX-5 and CX-70. The 50 is a little bigger than the 5 and smaller than the 70. They have a segment for everyone wanting an SUV.
Why do i like the looks
Because Mazda really does now style compared to many other brands.
I had a ‘21 Mazda CX5 Turbo Carbon and needed more room so I traded it in for a ‘22 Mazda CX9 Carbon. I’ve always said that as a 3 row, it’s not very good but with the third row down, the space is good so more like a nice size two row.
Now this CX70 hits the spot for me. I like having more space but don’t need a third row.
Mazda would have been better of introducing the CX-60 to the N.A. market. The CX-90 minus 3rd row (aka CX70) makes no market sense!!!
