Aretha never lost her voice, even in later years. I am blessed and privileged to share among others the music and song of this great Queen. I miss her so much. Just knowing that she is no longer with us breaks my heart, but at the same time believing that she is at rest and in the loving arms of our Divine Creator. Tearfully Yours..... A grieving fan.

I was backstage. I was in the band that played behind all of the other singers onstage during their sets. Aretha did this for her set. It was in Cleveland at the R&R Hall of Fame, where they were giving Aretha her honorary Doctorate. Chaka Khan had a set too! Dennis and Aretha were a couple back in the day...(Can't you tell?) He inspired Aretha's, "Daydreaming And I'm Thinking of You". We were backstage falling all over each other!

Isley must have felt like he was the proverbial "crowd" blocking some action; the way Dennis and Aretha were fawning over each other and he wasn't contributing much of anything to the song. I am really behind the times to just have learned this year that Dennis Edwards had passed away. Another great legend, that I grew up listening to when he joining the Temps, and when he went solo.
