Not sure why the Polo is in this comparison, R150K difference to Suzuki. Someone in the market for a 340k car is defiantly not going to consider something close to 500k. Polo Vivo 1.6 competes against the Suzuki.
As someone who has owned the Baleno for almost two and a half years: The Baleno's A/C is horrible. My Picanto's A/C was better. Suzuki should have paired it with a 6-speed manual. It drones a lot at 140-160 km/h. Long distance fuel consumption would have been better too. I'd have loved more torque. It's not a deal breaker but you definitely feel it on an incline when the car is filled with adults. I want to put wider tyres (and new rims) on when mine are finished. I agree with the grip comment. It doesn't help that the suspension is set so high. It doesn't give you a lot of confidence when going into a corner at a bit of a hooligan speed haha.
Baleno easily wins this for me. Best value for money and comparable quality. I also found the Baleno "puppy grunt" sound appealing. Polo is neat but boring styling. Honda is quality but not very good looking. I would also go for the manual rather than the auto gearboxes. We compared a few cars in this class last year and decided on the Baleno for real fuel efficiency, cost to own and practicality. Very underrated car.
The dumbest comparison ever. Next you will compare a gr86 and a Ferrari as they are both sports cars but the one is R600k Ann one is R5 mil but the Ferrari wins because it’s obviously better. Why not compare the polo vivo with the Suzuki and Kia Picanto. Much better comparison.
The polo is overpriced and not up to date or very well built. The fit is worth nothing used, can get a fit with 10000km for 330k. Winner here by far is the Suzuki when buying new. Worried about the reliability of the fit gearbox honda is known for having gearbox issues
you missed out on the most import aspects of those vehicles...Practicality = FIT, Good value for money family = Baleno..Polo is good weekend drive coz of high maintenance, stolen more...
VW prices have just become outrageous!! Almost half a million gets you a Polo, that's ridiculous and foolishness. You can buy a Mahindra XUV700 or Scorpio N for that price, or plenty other options. Small hatch cars are aimed at the younger generation, and from an affordable point of view the Polo looses by miles. Check out the Mahindra xuv 300, its affordable and beats these 3 cars..
You'll be glad to know the new Mahindra XUV 3XO is a finalist in our budget car category. Ciro did that comparison shoot and it's coming to the channel soon :)

Yup, or 1.6vivo with a torque converter auto if you have to
Great Point!! I drive the Suzuki Baleno Manual
@@ntuthukodlame1894 So do I...excellent driveabilty.
You should've mentioned all the standard safety specs as well.
Is the Polo R150k better car than a Baleno?
If you are flush and don't care about value yes.
Half a mitre for a polo, that's BMW money😂
Not sure why the Polo is in this comparison, R150K difference to Suzuki. Someone in the market for a 340k car is defiantly not going to consider something close to 500k. Polo Vivo 1.6 competes against the Suzuki.
Definitely. Compare cars in the same price ranges. I would rather buy a demo Haval H6 than a Polo R-Line. They're the same price.
With the prices of Japanese/German cars we see why these 2 countries markets are struggle at present.
Polo r line is almost half million
Did own a Baleno for about a year, and yes the AC in the car sucked, probably the main reason why I sold it.
Sorry to hear this
@ no worries, got myself a Jimny in its place 😁
You could get TWO Baleno GL's with the price of that Polo with sunroof option 🤣
The boot floor in the Polo can be dropped, providing extended boot space.
As someone who has owned the Baleno for almost two and a half years:
The Baleno's A/C is horrible.
Appreciate the honest feedback on the Baleno! Would you still recommend it to other buyers?
Why didn't you use the Polo Vivo GT. Price wise, it wouldn't be that far.
Not in this category but its the answer regardless, the Fronx! FTW
She’s not a great car journalist tbh. Contradicts herself too much.
But she is fun to watch😅
Baleno easily wins this for me. Best value for money and comparable quality. I also found the Baleno "puppy grunt" sound appealing. Polo is neat but boring styling. Honda is quality but not very good looking. I would also go for the manual rather than the auto gearboxes. We compared a few cars in this class last year and decided on the Baleno for real fuel efficiency, cost to own and practicality. Very underrated car.
My Baleno came with out of the box with rattles. Very fuel efficient though
Thanks for the detailed feedback and the great points about the Baleno! Wishing you many happy miles in your new wheels :)
Oh dear. Surely the dealer can help?
The dumbest comparison ever. Next you will compare a gr86 and a Ferrari as they are both sports cars but the one is R600k Ann one is R5 mil but the Ferrari wins because it’s obviously better. Why not compare the polo vivo with the Suzuki and Kia Picanto. Much better comparison.
Yes where is the Picanto?Amazing little car.
Why does your Polo seem spacious? How tall are you? 🤔
What about a polo life manual for just over 300k?
The life costs around R380k and a base spec Polo(previously known as Trendline) costs well over R350k brand new
I love the budget car Barbie. I will buy whatever she tells me to buy.
😂
Juliet McGuire is a good friend and absolute pro :) check out her personal RUclips channel, it's awesome!
Suzuki is the best with fuel consumption...wat they claim and wat u get
The polo is overpriced and not up to date or very well built. The fit is worth nothing used, can get a fit with 10000km for 330k.
Winner here by far is the Suzuki when buying new. Worried about the reliability of the fit gearbox honda is known for having gearbox issues
VW and their DSG is garbage.
I'm going baleno but in manual
Just bought the GLX...good choice.
Let us know how the ownership experience goes! Wishing you many happy miles 🏁
@Carscoza the Mahindra 3XO has thrown a spanner in the works. Really impressed with it. Especially all that extra power and torque up here in Joburg
This is a strange vehicle lineup to compare.
The VW with poor service plan and warranty convinced me not to buy one. I will consider only the Fit or Baleno.
Car reviewers man! That's the R-Line vs a base Baleno😭😭🤣. How is that a fair comparison??
Did I miss something? No mention of Honda sensing! Seriously.
People are paying polo the prices of midsized vehicles because of their optional kits.
VW can keep their DSG and every manufacturer can keep their CVT, I wouldn`t touch them!
you missed out on the most import aspects of those vehicles...Practicality = FIT, Good value for money family = Baleno..Polo is good weekend drive coz of high maintenance, stolen more...
2024 POLO 1.0 Manuel Impression 80 HP = 39.169 $ (american dollar) IN TÜRKİYE
Oh wow, fit and baleno compared to vw polo😂. Should have taken a vivo, then the other two could have had a chance. 👌
at 9:12 , i see a cute swift
Fit doesnt even have a cvt or belt or anything its direct drive
VW prices have just become outrageous!! Almost half a million gets you a Polo, that's ridiculous and foolishness. You can buy a Mahindra XUV700 or Scorpio N for that price, or plenty other options. Small hatch cars are aimed at the younger generation, and from an affordable point of view the Polo looses by miles. Check out the Mahindra xuv 300, its affordable and beats these 3 cars..
You'll be glad to know the new Mahindra XUV 3XO is a finalist in our budget car category. Ciro did that comparison shoot and it's coming to the channel soon :)
Yeah but who buys a FIT?
Everyone is trying to be a supercar blondie these days
Juliet has been doing this for a lot longer...check out her personal RUclips channel, it's fantastic
@@Carscoza Where is the link to her channel ?
Zim is Honda country but that cvt....
“We are all pinching pennies”
Then you have the audacity to put a R500k polo in the mix.
Stupid stupid comparison
German engineering substance over features for me that's German engineering
German engineering 😂
Problems engineered as standard
Suzukis are matchbox cars. Cheaply built POS.
Yet VERY reliable unlike the polo
@kyyyy21 what car do you drive?
@ Only used to like German cars until one day I got a Japanese car. My mind was blown how night and day they are in terms of reliability and ease of operation.
@ I love Japenese cars like Toyota and Honda. I had a Suzuki as a rental in Durban a few months ago and honestly thought it was such a kak car. The engine was terrible, the doors didn't close properly, it felt cheaply made etc.. And I was the first person to drive their brand new swift. Hard pass for me.
They are built to save weight,to take advantage of the power to weight ratio and save fuel. The results speak for themselves whatever your opinion is.
