    For me, the ideas in ruclips.net/user/postUgkxAfqpMLyFn37qcqUl0FAzqkkycQeXqrhP Plans were a starting point for building different sheds . Ryan gives ideas that allow an individual to draw nicest conclusions into the design and building of his or her own shed.

    Who gets to climb those book cases to dust all the stuff? It's beautiful, but from a cleaning perspective, holy moly and we get earthquakes fairly frequently, so stuff falling would be a concern in our area. Do love the light, the colour, the fire place, the window dressings and the layout. Would love to see the kitchen and bathroom. A very pleasant and relaxing space.

      +LucilleB Same here. I'd be afraid I'd get sinus infections from the dust, from all the spaces nobody can reach, to get rid of it.

      I always think of dust...or spiders in very lovely looking woodpiles or mosquitoes in houses with no screen doors next to water.... I should try meditation.

    So it has dormers which FHB doesn't recommend, and it also has all the glazing on the west wall, which FHB also doesn't recommend, but it's the Best Small Home?

    • @bethbartlett5692
      @bethbartlett5692 7 лет назад +3

      Sir - it's a small home - in the "small space living category", it's basically 2 rooms and 2 bathrooms.
      They actually show the kitchen area, just didn't sweep shot the appliances - and the bedroom upstairs is a loft that overlooks the "great room/kitchen" downstairs.
      This house appears larger than it is due to the 30 ft (+/-) ceilings.
      Those are wonderful - I've had that!

    The high cavity of the living space means that all the heating will go up to the ceiling thus making it useless to the occupants. Trust me, I live in a house with a two-story great room. Sounds good until you try to heat the darn thing in the winter! These expansive great room spaces are for the architects' egos; not for efficient living and functionality!

    • @lyndakelly5320
      @lyndakelly5320 8 лет назад +4

      You're right there PhiICherry 3. I left my 24 foot ceilings for 8 foot ones and happy I did. Where's the ladder to reach the books? How do you dust up there and I know the windows will be murder to clean. Where is the kitchen, the bathrooms and bedroom?. Not such a great house tour finehomebuilding.

    • @david100483
      @david100483 7 лет назад

      PhilCherry3 I agree about heating the tall space can be a PITA. There are options though! Like floor heat or high velocity forced air.

    Wall of windows facing west? Should be south (or north in the Southern Hemisphere) for maximum winter sunshine and energy efficiency. High ceilings can mean increased energy use, difficulty cleaning windows. Where is the kitchen and the
    bathroom? The best small house ? Really ? Were they friends of the judges?
