I have an iPhone 14 Pro and recently I did preorder the Galaxy S23 Ultra. My favorite is the Galaxy S23 Ultra. The overall refinements made this year has made a huge difference. Battery life after over one week in hand has been terrific. Smooth and snappy performance, I believe it is better than my iPhone. I am a die hard iPhone Fan but have been frustrated with my iPhone 14 Pro. This year has been buggy and always has minor bugs that is not like Apple.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. Some people online have been saying I'm lying, but I feel like my iPhone 14 Pro Max and iOS 16 has been a huge let down. I constantly have app issues and other weird bugs. Fully restored the phone (which is annoying and I shouldn't have to do) but that didn't help.

Nice job! Bottom line, both are great phones. It's also great to have each company push the other. Android and iOS customers benefit from this competition. As you said, for most people, ecosystem is the apex factor in making a choice as to which phone to choose. I do like the periscope zoom on the S23 Ultra and as an iPhone user find myself REALLY frustrated that Apple, ONCE AGAIN, is holding back on updating its flagship phone to include high value features such as this.

I had been an avid iOS user for over a decade now, moving across generations (used most devices from 5s to 13 pro). Thought I'd give the s23U a try, probably to check if I was really all that dependent on the famed 'ecosystem'. Even though I'd accumulated other apple devices like many others, I was ready for the change. Surprisingly, the transition was pretty smooth, and I'm really liking my experience with a flagship android (been about a month now). I use whatsapp for my messaging, and that really helped, I guess. I use my airpods pro with the s23U, and while it's not a fully integrated experience, I still am much happier with this than the galaxy buds that I got for free with the device (the airpods pro are really that good). Hopefully, my experience continues to be good with the s23U..

Samsung has been hit or miss with their ecosystem. No doubt Apple has a better ecosystem. However, just talking the phone design and features, Samsung always brings something new or unique. If you're going with Android, don't be afraid to go outside of samsung for things like smart watches, ear buds etc. There may be better options, and they will work great. I have Sony earbuds personally. I love em.

I used the iphone 14 Pro Max for 2 months before moving to the S23 Ultra, and after changing I realized how huge impact the notch still causes. The feature itself is nice, you can see the notifications there and control some stuff, but still, it is very big and annoying. I was using iPhones since the 3GS and the S23 ultra is my first Adnroid cellphone, and it is really amamzing how many feautres Android phones have. My only complaint so far is the battery. It doesn't last too long if you choose to use all the phone's features like the QUAD HD resolution, 120hz and other stuff, but this happens with all phones that offers big and better screens.

I used to leave with the pro Max around 99% and now with the S23 sometimes is 97% or even 96%. Also when I leave the phone on stand by at home I realized it consumes more than the iPhone too. I have a dedicated Mak Cas Telescope and astro camera attached to it, as well as a Canon DSLR for wildlife and landscapes. The s23 feels snappy and has a great camera, but the iPhone just feels smoother and easier to use, I’ve also got better photos from the iPhone, the camera opens quicker and the video isn’t jerky like on the s23. Opening and closing apps on the S23 still gets jerky at times to where the iPhone every single time opens things up super smooth. I like the longer screen on the s23 and the smaller hole punch front camera, but I like the way the iPhone 14 pro max is shaped, and the dynamic island is super color and useful. I use my iPhone more because of the eco system and how I can seamlessly work across all my devices, airdrop, text messages in my MacBook and iPad etc. all in all and I’m not sorry to say, the iPhone is just a more complete more pleasant experience and it makes sense since apple make their own custom Operating System and chips. If iPhone didn’t exist I’d for sure be using Samsungs phones and they are the best android phones. I wish Samsung would build their own os and chips then they’d probably top IPhone. But as long as samsung is using android, they will always be second to iPhone. For anyone who wants to be biased fanboys, if you have an iPhone try out a Samsung it’s great but their eco system sucks. It has one of the best phone designs ive ever seen, by far the best display ive ever used on a phone thanks to the QHD+ Dynamic Amoled 2x HDR10 120Hz display, not to mention the immense customization features, quad cameras, 8k30 fps video, multi tasking, S Pen, Samsung Dex, insane 5,000 mAh battery life, super fast charging, revese wireless charging, Gorilla Glass Victus 2, IP68 water and dust resistance etc and many more features. Not to mention One UI 5.1 in combination with the 120Hz refresh rate makes the phone feel way faster, smoother, and sharper than the iPhone when it comes to navigating the UI. The phone is just more fun in my opinion as well. Its basically a handheld computer. I think the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is the phone of the year!

I've been using samsung S and Note series for years after shifting from the iphone 2g for more than a decade. then now after using samsung went back to iphone 14pm. yes samsung has the latest and greatest but their software updates and battery life duration after years of use made me switch back to iphone. longer battery life for years of use and better ecosystem.

Bought my first Samsung smart phone last year, the S22 and love it. At the moment there isn't enough of a change for me to 'upgrade' to the S23 range. My previous phone was the LG G6 which is such a beast of a phone even today I'm impressed with it. I do like the iPhones from a build standpoint but I just can not and will not ever buy an iPhone base on what you get for the money. Spec for spec there are plenty of Android phones that beat the iPhone in many areas especially the price. All iPhones are way way overpriced. Just a guess but I'm pretty sure Steve Jobs wouldn't approve of the current iPhone lineup.

Not to mention paid advertisements and threads on Reddit saying this exact thing but if you look closely at REAL users they’ve got a bit of buyers remorse.

I couldn’t get used to androids interface/menu lay out ( maybe I should’ve gave it more time to get used to it )it’s been 10 years since I’ve had an android phone, I think I’m just an Apple fanboy now 🙈😂 I do like the design of the Samsung, it looks lovely, I hope Apple change the design when it comes to the 15 series, it’s time for it to be revamped I think now.

I'm a little bias when it comes to iPhone or any Apple product. In my household, I forbid having any Apple product. I just never really liked Apple, I don't like their stance on ownership. They want you do use the phone you just bought the way they want. You have no say in your own device, it's like buying a car, but the car manufacture don't allow you to do any modification to your own car. My son won an iPad Mini 64GB at his school. I'd sold it and got my son a Samsung A11 cell phone and got Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE which I use it daily. I had a Note 20 Ultra since release till I'd upgrade to the S23 Ultra 512GB a couple weeks ago.

I really like the high end OPPO phones, my friend has one and it kills my iPhone 13 Pro for speed, photos and battery life. Plus it doesn’t have the bloatware of the Samsungs. I’ve been an iPhone user since they first came, but they’ve really lost me with the ‘dynamic island’ - it’s far too intrusive on the screen for my taste and dates the phone next to other brands. If they don’t remove it, or move back up to where the notch, I won’t buy another iPhone. Airdrop is pretty much the only thing the iPhone does that keeps me with Apple, but even that with that, I won’t tolerate the dynamic island and jump ship. I watch this great video of yours, Aaron, and see the minuscule dot for camera on the Samsung and the blob dynamic island on the iPhone, I can’t comprehend how people live with it.

My iPhone 14 Pro has become my third iPhone, this device has lasted me almost 3 days until I felt the need to put it on a charger at 9 percent, I admit I’m a very light user of my iPhone, mostly pics, text and calls but this is still incredible battery life as far as I can see. The issue for me is that Samsung needs different cloud services to store back ups. WhatsApp backs up to Google Drive; Samsung Gallery backs up to OneDrive; Other such as phone settings backs up to Samsung Cloud. This means I will need 3 different subscriptions for properly backing up my device. At Apple everything backs up to iCloud. Am I missing something here? I'd love to switch over to the S23, but such things as these stop me from doing so.
