Hello Folks!
So here’s a wee recipe I found in a magazine! It's a Greek style chocolate party cake…I thought it looked amazing (and do-able!) so I thought I’d give it a go :) and let me tell you, it tastes even better that it looks! If you don’t want to use the brandy, just leave it out.

What I used (Makes 12 - 15 squares)
375g (13.2 oz) Caster sugar
1 Cinnamon stick or 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
2 Tablespoons brandy (Just leave it out if you don’t want to use it)
125g (4.4 oz) Unsalted butter, plus extra for greasing the tin
250g (8.8 oz) Dark and milk chocolate
3 Large eggs
175g (6.1 oz) Plain/all purpose flour
75g (2.6 oz) Cocoa powder
1 teaspoon Baking powder
½ teaspoon Bicarbonate of soda
½ teaspoon Salt
200ml (7 oz) Whole milk
250ml (8.8 oz) Double (or heavy) cream
Colourful sprinkles to decorate

The joy and fun of a nice party cake of any kind is always a hit. My family does one with a custard top and it is just lovely.

We have that in Sweden as well! We call it "Kärleksmums" ("kärlek" means love, and "mums" means yummy). Some use shreddet coconut shreds on it, but you're doing it right. Amazing thing :-)

Oh, chocolate is a favorite of mine. I would think that the cinnamon in syrup would give it a hint of that “Mexican chocolate” taste. And, of course, sprinkles make anything better! Cheers, and ATB!

Looks braw! Something I might try for daughters birthday mid July in our Swiss village! What about putting it in the fridge to chill after pouring over the chocolate and serving chilled? And for the golden syrup, it’s hard to find that here, any idea for a substitute? Cheers
Toss some cinnamon in and it's a classic cake used for cincineras and other parties
