A sweet Angel brought to me, this song, exactly when I needed to hear it- I began hearing the chorus in my mind😇❤️ It was absolutely magical to then come & find this song on utube, listen to its lyrics/message 🤩& once again be reminded, we never walk alone, & are, each one of us, watched over, guarded, & beloved.. To see so many others, also feeling blessed with the gift of this musical message, when it was so needed, and appropriate. If you listen to 3:41 and puts it on 1.25 speed, the instrumental of Come Fly Away will be heard playing, and if you actually start watching that, the vibes will use a sample effect of the Dragon Tales Dragon Tunes song Pretend.
This was my 1978 Graduation Class Song. It will always hold a special place in my Heart. Still know every word. Some of the lyrics of this song will always resignate with my life choices. It's a Classic that will never die, and I know when my Classmates hear this song it takes us all back to that final year of High School.
I personally think this song is about growing up and entering adulthood. "Free to face the life that's ahead of me" He wants to experience his new life as an adult without anyone holding him back. "We'll search for tomarrow. On every shore" They want to make the most out of their remaining days, but also wait for the day they truly grow up. "Oh lord I'll try. To carry on" He isn't ready to grow up and leave his old life behind, but he'll try and carry on. "Reflections in the waves. Spark my memories. Some happy some sad" He's thinking about memories from his youth, the good and the bad. "I think of childhood friends, and the dreams we had" He's thinking about his old friends and their dreams about their futures. "We lived happily ever after. So the story goes" As kids, they thought they would always live happy and young, and never grow up. "We'll try. Best that we can. To carry on" It's not just him, they're all not ready to grow up and leave each other, but they'll still try and carry on. "Come sail away. Come sail away. Come sail away with me" Angels are telling him to grow up and enter adulthood, and he'll be fine in the end. That was just my own analysis, and I know that this song isn't about growing up, but to me, it is.
@soul sessions tv Bdhrh The great thing about music is it's entirely possible to have an different meaning and unique emotional response to a song. Having said that, it's definitely about real aliens.

I spent 150 bucks at 12 for my dad and I to have time together. It will always be remembered by me and him.
My dad just recently died and this was our song. i imagine him singing this just before he passed as a metaphor for the journey to leave this earth and ascend to heaven. Just had to share that, not trying to force a religious confrontation. Jireh Prosper June 1966-August 2014.
Jireh Prosper a few years ago I took my brother/ best friend to their concert. It was a month before he passed away and we knew he didn’t have much time left. I’ll never forget sitting next to him and holding his hand with tears streaming down my face while listening to this song! I tried to fight the tears for his sake but I couldn’t. Dad, I'm really trying to hard to carry on. It seems impossible without you. You were my mentor, you gave me all the direction I needed, and showed me how to get there on my own. I didn't know your strength was my fuel.
I'm right there with you buddy. I lost my dad earlier this year and heard this song several times when he started to pass. Now I can't hear it without thinking about him.
This is actually my favourite song. Makes me want to take a boat to the middle of the ocean and look at the midnight sky. Legitimately, the greatest piece of music that has ever been made.

This man is testimony that you can do whatever you set your mind too.
Who's here because you're listening to oldies due to the coronavirus, the pandemic of the century April 2020. Styx is way underrated. It's officially one of my top rock bands🎸
Last week while I was on a cruise, they had a show with live performances. A Scottish guy sang this while playing the piano, he was dancing alongside other dancers while singing the song and it was absolutely wonderful! 💜
Much appreciated, thank you. My friend that toured with white snake, he was filling in fo their bassist, he would play this song on the piano. He would pick the most eclectic tunes, explain why they were great songs, and the reasons why it might miss an ordinary ear. This is one of those songs. Whomever the life helpers out there are, thank you again
Just started singing this randomly after an insanely long Sea of Thieves session, getting my whole crew to burst into laughter. I continued to sing the song till the point that it got rather emotional. This song has a way of doing that lol
For 20 years I worked fast food and other crappy jobs. I was very unhappy and depressed. I was in and out of the hospital 10 times in one year. One day something clicked and I said I’m done. I’m done being second best and working in such a toxic environment. Then my attitude and outlook on life started to change. I’ve been at my current job for 5 years. I work at a car dealership as a car washer. But I’m also moving on and planning to become a guidance counselor. I’m currently going to school for it. Until then I’m working for a teaching company as a sub. I’m leaving the dealership. Enough is enough.
I hate this mentality. Modern influence has always helped preserve the oldies. If a kid learns about an older song because of a movie or some tv show, that’s fine. The important thing is their newfound interest and appreciation for the song. The enthusiasm of the younger generations helped the classics make the jump from records, eight tracks, cassettes, and CD’s. When you look down on them for not coming across the music the same way you did, you discourage their enthusiasm. They’re less likely to enjoy the classics. The desire to explore and preserve the oldies dwindles. They won’t bother preserving it for the next generation. That’s how the music dies.
@@wickedamoeba8719 I didn't have any implication that the way they found the song was bad. I don't discourage it. I simply was making a joke, and encouraging the idea that it is a good song.
@@wickedamoeba8719 Thats a good ass point. I think one of the best summers ever was the one after the first Guardians in the Galaxy came out and i didnt stop hearing ELO. It was magical.
No matter how many years have past since I lost my dad, this tune gets me every time. My father loved sailing so much, he built his first boat at ten with an old sheet and some wood. He gradually bought bigger and better boats and we had so many crazy adventures on our trips. I haven't been sailing since he passed away. We were welcomed at every port - I'd hear the same phrase every time, " Hey, everyone, Sonny ' s here! Party on the "Pour Folk" (his last boat) tonight!" So many happy memories. Thanks for the vid.
I'm 27 now. Got into styx somewhere around 15 years ago. I think I was 12. Dont remember how I got into styx, no one I knew listened to them. So many songs take me back. Peace brother
Such an underrated band. A good example of this especially is how in "That 70s Show" Eric wants to go to a styx concert and his friends give him crap for it, then soon after at a hydes new record store kelso tried to steal a styx album and didn't want to admit he liked them
Meat House really? I always thought they were thought to be a classic band. I cant say a know a lot about music or even styx but they have a few songs I love
As I was 15 & up Growing up in mid 70S my friends played this & others like it Alot. They were all a bit older than myself. But I could not have ever imagined of all of us I would become the Commercial Snapper Boat Captain'. = Diving' Spearfishing' Diving at Night for Flounder. King Ect. Funny how Life Happens. Don't let Life Pass you By... Dive...
I saw Dennis DeYoung (the lead singer if you didn't know) and the Music of Styx this past Saturday in concert in Nashville. It was awesome. I thought it was awesome that he was still performing with great energy at his golden age of 72
A boy on a raft. Looking for friends to be strong. Future pirate king. Heard it on Goldbergs loved it so much as a kid had to hear it to bring back memories
0:42-4:34 Emmy and max references flying off to Dragon Land. Pirate aliens of an angel. Hold my Despacito drop. Kids on rollercoaster. People are off to the gym blasting Come Fly Away, come with me folks
Today, I was at work cleaning out the sink (I work as a waiter), and as the sink was flooding, I dropped in a small plastic cup. As it floated there, without even thinking I sang in the exact way it goes at the beginning of this song "I'm sailing away!" I had forgotten all about this song until then. Haha
You don't my brother and he loves this music and I started to listen to this music and I still love it!!! And I don't care what they say about this music and I still love this music!!!!
My brother is 10 yra older than me and styx was his favorite group so needless to say i grew up on it and loved it....i lost my brother a yr ago today and this song played at his funeral. I break down everytime i hear it now
One night a keyboardist I know was warming up with this and the entire bar began to sing the entire thing acapello word for word. If thats not a tribute to Styx, I don't know wtf, is. Live long and prosper gentleman.
I joined the Army at 19. And while my Dad and sister drove me to the airport in St.Louis this song came on KSHE 95. It was February 1979 and this was a very popular song on the FM back then.
toll_booth Listen to this, the Ink Spots and Cole Porter, and maybe the next generation will improve in taste, I mean, there is some good stuff, but it isn't played as often.
Back in 82 my ex-wife and I were having problems one night she was out hitting the bars. I was alone and this song came on the radio and I knew I had to sail away, best thing I ever did. The song hold a special place in my heart.

where is talent like this now? What a voice.
+Joanna R I agree 100%
Tool is a really great band that's fairly modern. I mean, their last album was 2005.
Tei Sukone That was like 10 years ago!
sportsygirl8 That's still modern, guy.
its out there you just dont know
Dad, I'm really trying to hard to carry on. It seems impossible without you. You were my mentor, you gave me all the direction I needed, and showed me how to get there on my own. I didn't know your strength was my fuel.
sorry for your lost
I'm right there with you buddy. I lost my dad earlier this year and heard this song several times when he started to pass. Now I can't hear it without thinking about him.
it's never easy I've been in mourning for over 20 years when my dad passed feb 1986 every time i go see his grave I break down crying
Mike Siegler I fee you too, you're not alone, I promise
Mike in time you will heal you might still miss your dad but that's normal I fully understand what your going through I lost my dad when I was 16
Am I the only person that randomly gets this song stuck in my head?? It's a good song, but it gets stuck in my head all the time XD
American Kitty u’re not alone xD
That's why I'm here 😂😂
@@coughypottt exactly what I was going to say but then I saw this comment lol beat me to it 😂
No, Eric Cartman can't hear a line from the song without going through the whole song.
You say that like it's a bad thing
This is actually my favourite song. Makes me want to take a boat to the middle of the ocean and look at the midnight sky.
Legitimately, the greatest piece of music that has ever been made.
I still think the parody is sung by singers from Dragon Tales!!
3:10 Were on a rollercoaster about to crash to the ground like an amusement park bumping to each other.
My dad had this on tape in the 90s lol I love this song
The parody is still heard with vibes in Dragon Tales!
Best song? No, thats a stretch buddy. Its anazing but you havent heard telephone line by elo yet.
Homeless man play piano brought me here. Beautiful....
me too. he played beautifully.
me three. beautiful song, that guy was amazing.
Me too!! wow
me too :-) This homeless man's name is Donald Gould, a former Marine and trained pianist, who said his only joy is bringing happiness to others when he plays. After this video went viral....he cleaned up went to rehab and reconnected with his family, as well as played the National Anthem at a 49ers game in Sept. 2015. This man is testimony that you can do whatever you set your mind too.

Who's here because you're listening to oldies due to the coronavirus, the pandemic of the century April 2020. Styx is way underrated. It's officially one of my top rock bands🎸
Babe, The Best of Times, Renegade, Blue Collar Man, Lady, just to name a few of their good songs
Me too ☺
I also miss the cool as hell album covers like styx elo and Boston's album covers
I’m here because I’m an Airline pilot locked in a Chinese hotel room on my layover. Listening to my favorite childhood music.
@@Fly_Navy awe 😩 so sorry 😭
Someone on my train had headphones on and didn't realize he was singing this song a bit too loud 😂😂😂
I had this on headphones!!
@@MikeTheAdventureReifenbergerGu Hopefully it wasn't you! lol
Well, if you think the parody is from Dragon Tales, why you said that?
I couldn’t even be annoyed. I carry one of them dual auxiliary adapters. And a spare headphones just for occasions like that
We all do that don't we?
"Why am I crying? Did I accidentally listen to "Come Sail Away" by Styx again?"
FREAKS AND GEEKS!! This song makes me so happy and almost makes me cry I love it soo much
wasn't that lady in the morning.
come sail away was in the dance scene in the 1st episode
Hope you're doing well, Cherie, wherever you are. Think of you and our childhood every time I hear this song.
Anyone here because
They enjoy quality music
No, i have to be prompted by popular culture.
It was magical.
yee
No matter how many years have past since I lost my dad, this tune gets me every time. My father loved sailing so much, he built his first boat at ten with an old sheet and some wood. He gradually bought bigger and better boats and we had so many crazy adventures on our trips. I haven't been sailing since he passed away. We were welcomed at every port - I'd hear the same phrase every time, " Hey, everyone, Sonny ' s here! Party on the "Pour Folk" (his last boat) tonight!" So many happy memories. Thanks for the vid.
Loved listening to styx while playing horseshoes with my dad. Those were the days!
Gosh... I listened to this a lot when I was little. I'm 20 now and I still have a weak spot for it!
I'm 27 now. Got into styx somewhere around 15 years ago. I think I was 12. Dont remember how I got into styx, no one I knew listened to them. So many songs take me back. Peace brother
Thanks to my dad I got into this music when I was 8 and now I'm still a kid at the age of 14
Heard it on Goldbergs loved it so much as a kid had to hear it to bring back memories
Omg yes. I'm watching Goldberg's right now. Literally love for the show and watch it all the time
Come fly away with me....sounds like Dragon Tales.
My sister used to play this song
I love the Goldbergs it’s why favorite show!!! I was just watching it a minute ago
Cool!
Just recently lost my mom and she loved styx so listening helps me still feel her presence 🥰🥰
One of the best songs ever written
This song parodied come fly away sounds like Dragon Tales and UFO sounds 3:40
As I was 15 & up Growing up in mid 70S my friends played this & others like it Alot. They were all a bit older than myself. But I could not have ever imagined of all of us I would become the Commercial Snapper Boat Captain'. = Diving' Spearfishing'

Happy Thursday. June something or other. Great song. Old. Lol
Best UFO song ever! ♡
Happy birthday to my brother Buddy in heaven 🥳 love you so much ❤️
This was and will always be my most favorite classic rock song
3:41 looks like someone on a UFO crashing the kids' SS Pretend with a classical guitar in the background!!
March 13, 2019 I've heard about the parody and its even Lioness'Funniest Media! It's similar to this but it's a parody sung by Dragon Tales! lol lol
I want this played at my funeral.
I first listened to this song the day my grandpa died. Listening to this song just makes me miss him.
I saw Dennis DeYoung (the lead singer if you didn't know) and the Music of Styx this past Saturday in concert in Nashville. It was awesome. I thought it was awesome that he was still performing with great energy at his golden age of 72
WWHHAAATTY!!!!!!

@@schoolbusguy2025 who? You and me are the same person!!
The first Styx song I ever heard...I was 17 at my first job. My friend came in to the restaurant telling me about this new song. It was 1977.
That moment when you realize one of your all time favorite songs is actually just about a guy being abducted by aliens
Fml
And holy frig, they were aliens! And they said "come sail away! Come sail away! Come sail away with me!"
+Blademaster Ryutaro Exactly
lol
Then it's a willing abduction.
True, true.
A boy on a raft.

Haha
I thought you were on infomercials
No he's dead actually. He died from being a crackhead or something.

Beautiful song.
Oh this song brings me back to my teenage years in the 70s. In 2022 it still rocks hard & I love it!
I'm 24 and I love this kind of music. My mom would play this in the car
This is my high school graduation song! Born in 86 but keeping it alive in 2019!!
Such a happy song because of come fly away to Dragon Tales.

I was sad but felt better after hearing this song on my walk today on my Spotify playlist! Love this song!
One night a keyboardist I know was warming up with this and the entire bar began to sing the entire thing acapello word for word. If thats not a tribute to Styx, I don't know wtf, is.

I joined the Army at 19. And while my Dad and sister drove me to the airport in St.Louis this song came on KSHE 95. It was February 1979 and this was a very popular song on the FM back then.
I can't start this song without finishing it.
References bitch!
thank you jesus for allowing me a sinner to be free for just having faith.
wtf. Just listen to whatever music you god damn want
Yeah, what? Does this relate to the song?
WHY CAN'T THEY MAKE MUSIC LIKE THIS ANY MORE?? :(
There is celebs that call them self musicians and ruined music forever
They still do
Music has not been ruined 4ever
toll_booth now it's mainly catchy songs that you get tired of after the second time listening to it.
toll_booth Listen to this, the Ink Spots and Cole Porter, and maybe the next generation will improve in taste, I mean, there is some good stuff, but it isn't played as often.
Back in 82 my ex-wife and I were having problems one night she was out hitting the bars. I was alone and this song came on the radio and I knew I had to sail away, best thing I ever did. The song hold a special place in my heart.
