These engines including mk6 etc, the crankshaft are almost bullet proof, the cylinder heads are not so great. I have tore them open, cylinder head, piston rings destroyed, but man, the crank is unmolested.

  • @psavel274

You used some quality pieces for this thing. The Integrated stuff is top notch. Those were the I.E. coated valves right? What springs were they? Supertech? Definitely a sizable snail too. Those Precision's take a good amount of abuse. I have seen very little failures from them, even when pushed hard repeatedly. Smart man for taking care of the crank gear and switching to the manual tensioner and getting away from the hydraulic one which is a ticking time bomb. Air pump delete FTW. Good move. My guess is the customer will be back for a Quaife or Peloquin. The LSD is a must at this point. Legit stuff right here. Good work and damn nice looking shop.

I agree with most of what you've said but we've seen way more failures on precision turbo compared to Garret. Not even comparable to be honest.

      @@COMotorsports
Really??? I've only seen a couple to be honest but I've been out of the game for awhile. I agree the the Garrett and Borg Warner are definitely more 'tried and true' with many more years of usage, primarily because they've been in action longer. I built a few 1.8t's with the 30r and 35, and the 30r was probably the best way to go, not just for reliability but the best mix for spool time, and top end power. What's that precision unit go for price wise? I don't even remember what I paid for the gt30r... like I said, it was probably 8+ years ago.

Hello Dave, Clay, all garage bad monsters.. precision 6262 .63 ar in this blue thunder vag. Is it ball bearing T? Is it better spooling than garrett gtx3071 used in your golf? Which is best of two? I mean not only top end dyno numbers but whole behaviour and reliability? Fluidamper in your tuning description. I've gonna see what it is. Quite expensve. Does it really make difference? Is it just engine pace maker safety device? Each one of your vids is a car life art unique portrait.. there's more than what they can see 😮
