I couldnt agree more.Jeff Astle along with Clive Clark and not forgetting Tony "Bomber" Brown were legends and the came along Cyril Regis,Brendan Batson and Laurie Cunningham made Albion a force to be reckoned with. R.I.P longed of the Hawthorns
Absolutely brilliant. Thanks Frank for the memories. I'm a Middlesbrough fan but above that i love football. Also Jeff Astle and the West Brom fans who loved him as a player and as a man are my extended family. RIP Jeff Astle.
I´m proud to say ive met both of them. I met frank on a train going to london in 88 to i think his first live stand up. and i was a waiter in the sponsors lounge at the hawthorns in 98, where i served The King his lunch with his family. Such a nice down to earth bloke. On another day at the hawthorns i served Frank a beer in the same lounge. Great memories
My mum & dad moved to South Derby, North West Leicestershire and my dad said "you'll never guess, who's in the pub" It was the King! David Nish ran the pub at the time and I was so lucky to meet Jeff as a person, rather than the legend! So nice, cause the area was either Leicester or Derby, and I just loved it. Turks.
Remember a match at the hawthorns in 68 man United were going for the league albion had just qualified for the Cup final thinking it would be 2 more points Astle scored a hat trick in a 6-3 win a truly fantastic player and always enjoyed him on fantasy football .
Don't be a fucking halfwit if you watch the whole video Jeff's wife had said it staved off the dementia for a bit by him doing fantasy football league and he enjoyed doing it as you can see that.
Genuine feeling for your team and your hero. So great to hear. Thank you for sharing Frank. God bless you Jeff.

@@tuckstrudel Thanks for your lovely comment, I take it onboard and I'll process your intelligent reply with a grain of salt.
@@stuhall2689 please be nice, so Astle played the clown, so what. He loved every minute.
@@chriscoughlan5221 it made him look a fool. I'm a big West Brom fan but the fact it made my hero look a fool simple as that.
I know this comment is 4 years old. But give your head a wobble mate. It ain't working properly
