Hi Al. They are made of fiber, but they are very thick. The brand is PJ-Percussion and the model is Number 1. They are know to have a sound that is closely related to the sound of wooden congas. My model is no longer produced due to the high expenses. When you mention the white ones, I think that the model could be Session Line. A very popular model, with a great sound.

Yolanda has really moved. When I was there 6 years ago, she did not even want to listen to the ancient music. She did not play drums at all, but classical piano. SUDDENLY :-) She is amazing.
She started late, and that really puts a question mark with the ever lasting discussion in our world on when to begin to play. It proves that it all has to do with focus, motivation and a damn good teacher.

Hello Raphael. It is similar to that of Mongo. I believe that it's influenced by the style of that time. This was the way that a lot conga players played those years, but right. Mongo has got the credit for it.
