    Nicely done.
    I love that you spoke about the importance of learning the rhythms on the individual percussion instruments first...ie: Congas, Bell etc.
    then adapting them on the drum set.
    This is so important to understand. Good stuff!!

    Fantastic playing my man. These rhythms are foreign to me and quite beyond me without a lot of work, so I love how this has that magical/bewildering feeling for me, amazing. Maybe one day I'll give it a try.

    Seeing this written in 4 and the met playing the compound is messing with my head 😂

      It’s written in 12/8 and the metronome is outlining the dotted quarter notes, which is the pulse you want to feel with this music.

    Dude, I just uploaded my first try practicing bembé. Damn that rythms is hard! I struggled a lot before getting a "clean" shot.
    Thanks for sharing the story behind those rythms, I loved it!
