    Idea for DLC: second island, all together with sea production, transport (Ships, harbor), maybe underwater construction.

      My thoughts exactly. Along with roll-on/roll-off ships and maybe even drone carriers. Just imagine the harbor cranes and container docks. Offshore oil rigs. (hopefully with bigger pipes)
      Hopefully we get some kind of ceiling crane too. (like IRL factories)

    "The reception has been incredible so far..." Yeah my dude, you made the best factory game in a genre that was originally defined by factorio, an incredibly well done and supported factory game that opened up creative space for an entire type of game. You should be proud; extremely proud.

      What i like about this game is, you can play it at your own pace. You can construct something, scrap it the next time... if you feel, you dont want to build, you can explore the map, collect slugs or Somerslopes.... ive spend about 2300 hours in my world and i am far from beeing finished.

    We need more foundation and wall shapes, including shorter length walls. As an architect, I love this game. I'm completely addicted.

      As a sructural engineer i can totally relate. I would love different Sizes of beams, smaller foundations like 1x1 or 2x2 maybe different walls or facades, wooden parts maybe, especially for roofs, and smaller Celine lights like 1x1 or 2x2

      I wish they had derived all "wall types" to "wall with hole(s). I hate nothing more than having to stick a concrete wall with holes when I made a pristine glass structure.

      So I hope coffeestain adds them eventually

    I started playing this game as a "first-person open-world factory building game with a dash of exploration and combat" as described. But now it's something completely else. It became the most aesthetically pleasing building game available, and I played them all. The building genre is one of the most popular, and I could spend hours discussing how to improve this aspect of the game. One of the first things that comes to mind is how we can build a foundations out of all of the various materials that we harvest. Most building games struggle with curves, and I don't understand why. Don't go alien; go Earth. Building a motor is far more satisfying than reanimated SAM.

    I think underwater/ocean DLC would be rad. Satisfactory's biomes remind me of Subnautica in the best way, and I feel like it would be interesting to see how they approach underwater resource collection and automation.

    I think a starter idea to open en new DLC would be like "Damn A.D.A. , i think they abandonned us! Let's build our own spaceship and get outta here!" that would open infinite possibilities to new maps.
    BTW, that's the first time in years that i feel i've had what i paid for in a game and i wouldn't mind the next DLC being paid, unlike lots of other games these years.
    Great job once again! and thanks to the team behind this awesome game!

      I think it would be funny if after you are done you get a message from ADA along the lines of Congratulations you have saved the day now back to work time to save the next day. also thing that grindds me gears is what did we actually do we build a ship and it went off to who knows were but why? all the parts we send up te elevator seem to be ship parts so what was the cargo and there are to parts in particular that i find curios 1 the Biochemical Sculptor 2 AI Expansion Server. what if all the pioneers do is help Skynet/ADA spread through the galaxy. the AI servers expand ADA and the Bio Sculptor is used to print pioneers.

    With the area being mountainous I think cable cars would be an awesome addition to transport goods and the pioneer. A good blueprint would be “Winter Resort Manager 2”

    I waited for a few hot fixes before jumping back into Satisfactory 1.0. Even after 1400 hours in satisfactory since update 4, it feels like the first time all over again. I just don't tire of this game. It really is so incredibly well done that I genuinely believe it is the best $30 I've ever spent on an entertainment product. Can't wait for DLC! (New map?!?)

    I'm going to repeat my comment on another video regarding Satisfactory DLC: Look to your cohorts over at Ghost Ship Games for a model on how to do it: Keep the DLCs cosmetic and the new content free. How about a full set of buildings/belts that are steampunk styled with filigree and sweeping shapes? Ultra-primitive caveman style with lots of rocks, bones, etc? Super high-sci-fi style with lots of floating parts and arcing energy? Just alternate models for all the buildings/belts/etc we have in one pack. Throw a dangly thing and a helmet in-theme with each one and I'd gladly pay for those at $7-10 each. I want a super-sci-fi Nuclear Reactor being fed by belts that look like they're made with Spitter skins and Hog bones lol

    I hope it doesn't get tooo alien. I wouldn't want to see Satisfactory drift away from realistic crafts. The later products in Satisfactory already become pretty abstract. With Ficsit tech and alien parts etc.
    With iron plate, I know it's an iron plate, I've seen it in real life. With alien morph xilobit 32xA, it's just something. It can kind of alienate the player a bit.

    The DLC I would like to see:
    a) Being able to customize a space in the space station. Utilizing the Space elevator to send resources to fully customize the space station.
    after that
    b) 1 or 2 new world maps with different environmental challenges. easier in some ways but harder in others.

    Satisfactory has been on my wishlist for about 4 years. Right when I get a new system that's actually able to play games, 1.0 releases. Been over the moon playing since. Kudos to everyone involved in the past, present and future development of this awesome title.

      NGL, I thought I didn't hit CTRL+C right only to find that there are weirdly some buildings you can't (yet?) copy-paste on. Mild pain when your trying to mass-overclock them!

      Open the buildings settings menu. It will tell you at the bottom if copy&paste works, so you don't need to guess. If the buttons for it are there, then you can also do it while just looking at it from short distance. If there's no buttons, then short cut doesn't work.
      For fuel, build them as blueprints. The blueprints will remember all settings if you need to put down several of the same.
      You can even preload things like coal into the blueprints and you'll build the blueprints with the building already set and full of coal.

      @@Vincent_Beers I knew this concept before the post, but i still prefer to set them without blueprint and it becomes a problem when you have to set 200+ of them singulars. It's a small factor, but it seem like it was forgotten, overlooked, or someone just decided it would take a lot of time to complete which all explanations are acceptable. IDK what I was thinking when i watched this video and Snutt said I "If you have an idea we love to hear it".
      I wasn't expecting answer to involve another few steps in the process, which doesn't solve the problem just puts more obstacles in the way to complete single function. I'm not saying you are wrong. Although why add more functions and building to do something a all other single machines preform with ease. Thank you Vincent for providing some feedback🙂

    I think biome-specific achievements would be easily to implement:
    * Complete an irrigation project in the desert
    * Restore the habitat of an endangered rare fungus
    * Milk the intestinal gases of ten Space-Giraffes
    Perhaps expand the utilisation of Alien DNA capsules: surely there's more we can learn and develop from this beyond coupons

    VR support would be really really cool if it could be set up cleanly, but I can see how it would be difficult getting it working such that it's easy/comfortable to use, especially given the variety of different VR controller configs and motion control variants present in the VR market.

    I will never give up on the dream that is Base Defence. However, as a compromise:
    With a map like this, I feel a natural addition would be some kind of underground or underwater expansion. It would also be a nice mirror to Factorio going to space, just to be cheeky.
    I am a big fan of expansions that integrate seamlessly into the base-game, but it is difficult to imagine something to add to this game as it is. You don't want things just for the sake of it, but to actually have some kind of gameplay reason to be there. That's why I feel like something like underwater factory-building could be very interesting. Maybe even add light survival mechanics AKA Subnautica.
    And have ADA return. Otherwise, you might as well just can the DLC right there.
    For smaller DLC: Decorations. More things to make our factories look more industrial and/or corporate. Right now we need to screw around with non-ideal parts like painted beams to approximate a furnished office, and while it's great to see a creative mind whip something up with the limited tools at hand - I would love a hefty addition to the decoration department.
    Then there are some QoL things I'd like, namely vertically nudging.
    And by God, please improve Trucks. Setting up routes is such a pain right now. Just a simple way to move/add nodes on the fly would go such a long way.

    I have a DLC Idea! In summary: Players respond to a distress signal from the sentient beings hinted at through the mysterious Mercer Spheres and Somersloops. The journey begins with a beacon that leads to a hidden underwater grotto, unlocking new biomes teeming with unique creatures and resources. To explore, players craft scuba gear and navigate depths that reveal a trove of alien artifacts and new materials. This triggers a "Save the Day" side quest in the HUB, distinct from the main Space Elevator tasks, progressing through special objectives and new components crafted with the aid of artifacts and alien fauna. As players uncover more messages from the alien race, they prepare a rescue mission, building a long-range antenna and a new vehicle to reach their endangered allies’ distant planet-introducing the possibility of future interstellar adventures.

    Just know a ton of the player base will likely buy whatever paid DLC you make as long as its under 29.99 or 39.99 for a mega-expansion. I know I personally will buy anything for satisfactory. Thanks for such a great game CSS!

    First, great game! Don't really have many complaints. So much fun and most of the time it works really smooth.
    At this point what I am looking for most are more customizability.
    More architecture options for building bases would be awesome. More wall textures (glass walls please!) and decorations for inside our factories like desks, etc. A lot of us just want our bases to look pretty!

    Peeps so I had an idea might be something someone else mentioned but I would like a recycler everything these days gets sunk but what if with worse efficiency (materials) you could shred something and extract it's metal components. maybe add water as an intake and it's like magically automatic so it detects what goes it and spits out resources into one or many belts and you can sort to your heart's content. it could output ingots of metal. Idk seemed like a fun idea that could lead to even more convoluted factories.

    Future content that focuses more with water; it would be great for blueprints to set up on water / below water designs. Currently you cannot build a blueprint with water extractors.
    I can imagine more water based buildings would be added and the blueprint is a powerful tool to create useful automation when scaling up.

    DLC Idea:
    A ship crashes somewhere on the planet, your mission is to go on a journey in an attempt to discover where the ship came from and what the intentions were. Perhaps it didn't actually crash on accident, perhaps it was alien, perhaps it was from Earth. Perhaps it brings with it farming, the addition of timber textures, maybe it introduces pets or interstellar trade.

    Alien story arc and more alien tech would be amazing.
    I always wonder if there is still a secret ending that involves the alien entity that no one has discovered yet?
    No matter if regular update or DLC either would be amazing to add more on that part.
    Could even connect that to a new biom that you reach by using some of the alien tech.. maybe a virtual world where the alien entity lives and the stuff in dimensional storage goes to? Or some hidden temple structure underground that is left over and has huge caves around it.
    Also adding VR controls would be amazing! Think Unreal Engine has a lot of stuff build in to support VR, only work would probably be in creating some UIs that make sense for VR.

    As someone who just came to the game, I think this game is fucking wonderful and looks great also. It took me 6 days, countless yt videos, and a Reddit post to figure out trains tho. I wish there was a colored line running through the track when in build mode so I can see where the error is tho - this would’ve helped me figure it out a lot quicker. Game is fantastic and you guys keep it up … when I played starfield I actually spent more time doing logistical outposts 😂 so it’s almost as if I’ve continued my journey and found a planet to call home 😅

    Satisfactory has been the first game to convince me to finally do the research to upgrade my mini PC, because even though it's already smooth and beautiful.... I want it to be SMOOTHER AND BEAUTIFULER. I activated lumen, and it was the first time I saw it bog down from Satisfactory, but my god was it beautiful.

    Add biome weather/climate effects, but they can effect production in good/bad ways such that you'd want to build certain parts of a chain within certain biomes. Gets people to spread things out and build infrastructure if they want to increase overall optimization.
    Add a multifire nobelisk launcher like the irl grenade launcher that makes that floomp noise when it fires. On impact explosions with more DPS than explosive rebar but maybe less range (ballistic arc) but still better range and rate of fire as compared to tossing it with your hand.

    Good on the dev pointing out that they cannot and will not throw a wrench into the satisfactory. I don't want to defend my build, I just want to build some more. BUT I am not against making another mode to cater to users who want some kind of base/tower defense mechanic.

    I'd really like to see both a cavern biome and a snowy mountain biome that test your ability to build in tight spaces in different ways, as well as (crucially) more and better tools for players to build in tight spaces.
    So much of the late game ends up being about deconstructing and rebuilding things to nudge them into the right spot.
    So much of the late game ends up being coming up with ways to curve foundations because the game for some reason doesn't provide foundations with simple 20/30/45/60-degree bends in them.
    So much of working with rail ends up being coming up with ways to make it look halfway decent because the default rail clips through things and jitters left and right so much.
    I'd even say things like linking signs to buildings they're attached to would be an amazing feature because right now it's tremendously painful to have to manually set every sign if you want to slap one on an input belt to remind yourself how much ore you're bringing in or something.

    Honestly the possibilities of DLC are infinite. I can think of so many things that would make great additions - so many interesting ideas from other users. I would love for the game to go on and on... the amount of work you guys have put into this is truly appreciated, by far the most enjoyable Factory game I am playing these days; while I also love Factorio (and their effort with the Space Age DLC).
    Things I am most interested in: long term goals (after doing Phase 5 there only is ticket collection, which many are not really interested in AND making your factories look pretty) - so something to keep sending stuff into the space elevator would be awesome. While the animations are special I would love to still look at them after I am "done with the game" - whether it's in exchange for rewards, story or "achievements" I would love to continue making use of the space elevator. (Even small badges for the pioneer could be a cool addition, like delivering 1000 of every material or whatever)

    Console controls: let players choose between higher level and micro building choices. PC players have more buttons at our finger tips and can dial in a placement (aka clipping). Let console players have zoning (placing down N constructors in a zone that as just drawn per the X,Y-start vs X,Y-finish) and semi/fully automated piping/belting would be amazing (if a player wants that on).
    Then console players could go in and tweak in micro build mode to get clipping and other fine tuning. Obviously blueprints should be unlocked fairly early on for console players. We are talking about minimising switching from macro to micro build modes. That a player in a blueprint can get a high level of detail and then zoop that blueprint along N spaces. (Loading in 10 blueprints could happen gradually so the game shows you have placed down so many foundations but finer details don’t load in as quickly - as long as it looks intentional that items are loading).
    Blueprints should have quick connects. If enabled, a pipe or belt should connect to the next blueprint’s pipes and belts when these connections are at the boundary of a blueprint.

    Another idea for a DLC: Alternate story/lore and narrator. ADA is great as is, but I am sure there are different directions that a story could go and different ways to have it narrated that could be fun!

    Add "VR" blueprint machine that you can go inside and virtually build things in game in the late game that doesn't require any materials to build within and you have full freedom of movement since its "virtual reality"

    Listen guys, we WILL pay full price for a good expansion to the game. I think I speak for the masses when I say I would gladly pay for more content. I'm thinking like, transition to a different planet or underground or even just an expansion to the existing map but with updated biomes, etc...

    A dlc idea that I think would be cool is, since we have experience with alien tech we get picked to fix a alien facility (I haven't beaten the game so I don't know if we delve I to the alien civ too much) this could be us developing new hybrid alien tech, set it in a new map and uncovering new discoveries about the alien race as we fix more of the facility.

    I've always thought greenhouses would be an amazing addition. The posibility to have a stable output of green's both for food and fuel would be amazing. If only a single building with space for a single seed. Sort of what they do in the game Raft.

    Opening Space would be an absolute Dream!
    -spaceships (maybe with some custom designs) to travel to different planets. These ships could access new maps where players gather unique resources.
    Add satellites as an endgame feature for mapping space, locating new planets, and identifying rare resources to harvest.
    Space Stations and Factories:
    -Imagine constructing a space station! via a space elevator or spaceship to build factories in zero gravity.
    Space factories might have unique mechanics, leveraging microgravity or alien tech.
    -futuristic tech like railguns, laser beams, and hovercraft. These could be tied to alien technology discovered during space exploration.
    Include new crafting and production chains that revolve around advanced materials from other celestial bodies.
    Expanding the Horizon:
    -travel to moons or asteroids for resource gathering and exploration.
    Add long-term goals for so called hardcore players, such as constructing Dyson Spheres after completing Project Assembly, with new gameplay phases tied to interplanetary travel.
    -time travel as a mind-bending concept. It could unlock unique scenarios, challenges, or even alternative timelines.
    -Fusion Reactors as a more advanced energy source, utilizing rare isotopes from space exploration.
    -maybe robots (as a Part of an AI baes Tier) to assist with interplanetary logistics or automated space mining.
    This is in a more realistic scale as a DLC would be sick!

    I have 2000+ hours in the game and I'm still loving it, but eventually I think I'll get bored with the map, lovely though it is. The environment is what sets this game apart from other factory games, there's no way this game could ever complete with the complexity of modded factorio, so I'd rather explore a new map than new tech. I'd be more than happy to pay for a new map, even if no other features are added.

    I'd buy this game all over again if they added different wall styles, road styles, architecture etc.. This game is/can be art if you play it that way. Need a curving tool for roads/foundations, I don't enjoy using the various gimmicks to make curves. This is a time eater and the devs should be building tools to enable creativity and not eat time.

    Satisfactory might branch into co-op mode? If its stable enough, you can invite friends to build on a build. I think that would be a real case for cross platform integration.
    Definitely if PC players should be able to use their keyboard AND controller, that would be brilliant choice of ergonomics. Namely access to a num pad. Ideally console players could connect a keyboard as well.

    For a DLC; it seems obvious that you all are extremely talented at creating hand-crafted worlds and environments. So maybe a new planet; But moreover, maybe resource node randomization; Not knowing where resources are, could really change up how your save gets played; and add even more replay value. If rain is added; Maybe a water catch; hydro power, maybe wind power options; Could be something to really strive for early on, as an alternative to cutting down all those trees.

    i think new planet as a DLC but played as a different player. it would expand on the lore of Fixit expanding across the universe to complete project assembly. in say a free 1.2 update you can add some backstory to the current pioneer, so that when you drop this DLC you can add new backstory of the new pioneer on the next planet.
    Then if you really wanted to lean into a multi planet system, you could expand alient tech to create a trading system for resources between the planets. Think dementional depot but with input and outputs for trading resources between planets.
    The game play would only load one planet at a time, and the only thing referenced from the other planet is the item and flow rate of items inputed into this new alien trading post of the other planet. it gives the illusion of a large multi planetary system without having to simulate two planets worth of game play.

    I’ve been using a PS4 controller since I started playing back in 2020. It’s been some painstaking hours in the steam menu and I still haven’t perfected it. There’s plenty of hot keys that I don’t have. I can see how that is a monumental task to create controller support, so hats off to you guys if you do it better than me haha
    Something you need to get right where a lot of developers that make controller support as an afterthought don’t get right is having permanent controls for menus and that is always a problem, take Subnautica for example, you can modify any button but you can only make one button do one thing, you can’t have a single button mapped to different keys and that becomes a problem for personal preference. Look into how star citizen did their controls and it will give you a good idea of how to do it correctly, Have the option to double click, have the option to hold a button down, have the option for mode shifts, where if you hold a button, you can re-map all the controls to a second set of commands, stuff like that.

    Rather than having a strict linear resource tree, why not have a tree that you build up to 3 or 4 advanced resources and get a kind of end game that is unique from another player. This is probably 2.0 or 1.5 release. You dont need to get to super computers when you start to look at more alien tech and avoid the ‘human resources’.
    I’m thinking more of how Mass Effect 3’s story board of all possible playthroughs look like. Players see about 1% of this (even with multiple playthroughs).
    Such that ADA doesn’t have be your only interaction with the ‘outside’.

    I am closing in on 1.000 hours in this game. I love it, it is awesome. But for all mankind, please fix the MK2 pipes. After i have redesigned my 1k Fuel Powered Generator Setup from MK2 to MK1 pipes, it is now working flawless.

    The space for the DLC looks good BUT if it's the same mechanics as on the ground then it's not worth it, it's imperative not to make a DLC where just the outward appearance changes otherwise it'll be repetitive and there'll be no challenge. There have to be profound changes in the way items are made and transported.

    I love the game. I started after 1.0 and played 230h last 4 weeks. But I must say that I would prefer quality life upgrades insted of some chrismass update. The game catched me again after I downloaded some elementary quality life improvement modes like Auto-link, Infinite nudge, infinite zoom, snapOn, ... Like I dont understand why these are not part of the base game. I saved myself so many frustration after I downloaded these mods. Finaly I can rotate on foundation, nudge to bigger distance or nudge verticaly. In base game player always needed some crazy unintuitive workarounds to do so. Why are these not in vanilla after so many years?

    It's sounding more likely that 2.0 will be some sort of paid DLC. I only say that because of how they've reiterated that the next free update will be 1.1. I don't think that's for the sake of people wondering if 1.1 will cost money or not though.
