The mat mat issue is if you have a pattern installed as a .package that has not been fixed properly. It wont cause a cc magic issue but could crash your game. Use delphys dashboard to scan your Documents>EA>CC Magic>Content>Packages folder to find pattern and fix them following the tutorial on my tumblr 😊
I just started replaying the sims and tried to use s3pe today and it kept not responding for like 30 minutes. I downloaded cc magic and it did everything in like 5 minutes.
I was having the same issue, but then I realized that she was still holding CTRL+A while dragging. So, you're not supposed to let go until after you've dragged the file over.
Is there a hotkey to select all? It is kind of a pain having to select one and then scroll all the way to the last item and have to then shift click to select the first item to the last, and then have to shift click AGAIN to drag all of it into a set.
I don't know why it's not working for me... I know I don't have any bad CC in there, I keep all of my CC organized, but when I put my stuff through the program, it freezes on the loading screen. Any ideas?
Wanna IM me on tumblr @simplyimaginarypeople? That way I can help more. And it may just black screen for a long time the first time as it has to deal with all the CC. Otherwise check your savedsims folder and make sure there is no file called downloadedsims.index. If there is then delete it.
so i pressed the rebuild button and i got a message saying detected materializing materials issue pattern. I've been having issues being able to just the ea standard body mods and skintone button. Do you think this could be the culprit. sorry if its a stupid question ._.

I've been trying to understand how to use CCMagic through videos for a while now and your tutorial was the first one that made me understand how to use this tool without seeming too complicated. I just have some questions, sorry if I sound dumb but if you could answer, I would be very grateful: - Do I have to open CCMagic and Enable/Rebuild my sets in there every single time I want to launch the sims 3? Or if I do this once, it will be enabled in my game automatically? - I would also not want to start my game from CCMagic button, but rather continue to start from the native launcher itself. Also, I might keep installing sims, worlds and lots by native launcher since they are sim3packs (and to prevent bugs n stuff). Is there any possibility that the game will no longer recognize my contents installed through the launcher or have a problem when starting the game through it? - I've seen some people complain that CCMagic doesn't work with 1.69 game version anymore. This is my version and my game itself is in Portuguese, but my folders are all in English by default, including the "The Sims 3" one. Do you think CCMagic is gonna work properly then or there's something else about the 1.69 version that prevents the tool from working? Sorry for the long comment and thank you again!
Hi! 1) no, you only need to rebuild when you add new CC 2) I would even recommend to run your game normally, it will not affect the CC, though I do recommend never installing soms3packs 3) it works for 1.69 just you cannot launch the game from inside CC magic, as you should launch it normally anyway this isn't an issue
My folders are; Downloads and Mods, in my Downloads folder are my Custom Content files, but there’s no AF or AM folders, they’re all just putted in. And in the other, Mods folder there’s just packages, also not sorted. What should I do then?
Ok, I need help with my CC Magic and sims 3 Im completlly stumed and confused here, I was able to load CC Magic to my Laptop, I click on the program CC Magic, I Click on both Default and Legacy and nothing pulls up there both blank??? Just to see if the CC magic program is working I downloaded 3 Fireplaces from the Sims resorce witch automaticlly placed it in my Sims 3 Launcher, but nothing is pulling up in my CC Cleaner this is really confuseing and I dont know what to do, what am I doing wrong here?.....
hi, i already did like what you taught. it was working until menu but when i load my family, it loads halfway and then the game crashed :/ total was 9GB but i merged all of them by categories. each categories has below a hundred files only.....
CC magic should not make your game crash so it may be a certain file. Try a clean save and slowly add your CC in and test. See which cc makes it crash!
OH MY GOD THANK YOU SO MUCH😭😭😭 My loading time was almost 1 hr and now less than 5 minutes!!!! Also my game now run smoothly (still kinda stuttering, but lemme tell you, I once need like one minute from my house tp the main bridgeport, THAT LONG) I kinda confused firstly why my skin are not loaded, turns out I forgot to enable it HHAHAHA. I need about one hour to find out what's wrong, restarting my game about 6 times BUT WOW ONLY ONE HOUR???? 6 RESTART???? THANK YOU SO MUCHH!!!!
I install them as packages. They don't cause errors but can glitch but there are easy ways to fix that! The sims3tutorialhub tumblr has tutorials on how!

@@monjajensen3885 Dashboard saying something conflicts is wrong in 90% of cases. So ignore that :) As for the counter, use either nraas to reset the texture, or if its a recolorable counter use the recoloring tool, select the first preset and it will go back to normal and you can recolor normally! As for CC Magic, with CC not appearing its either: 1) you deleted the CC Magic folder in My Documents/EA, 2) You deleted the Cache folder in Mods, 3) you edited the resource.cfg file in Mods or put in a new one, 4) you have a foreign game and your The Sims 3 folder is called something like Le Sims 3. All issues are fixable :D

You will probably have to do the 50/50 method to figure out what is causing it :/ Using CC Magic you can disable all sets, see if it really is CC causing it, then enable set by set and see which set crashes it!@@monjajensen3885
So when I highlight multiple files it works, but when I go to drag it, it only lets me drag the single package I had my cursor on. Is there a way to fix this because I have literally thousands of packages that would take way too long to drag each one manually?
I would love to use cc magic to merge my cc but it keeps both the merged package and the original unmerged packages files on the same hard drive which is a big issue for me personally. Do you know if there's a way I can keep them on separate hard drives?
I mean, it will still work, but there is no point to double merge...it won't help you :D The point of CC Magic is to avoid merging with S3PE because its not good, you cannot unmerge and CC Magic caps merge package sizes at 1KB, which is the max the game can properly read in one file. It's the "smart" way to merge. If you don't have the original files before you merged then.....I would honestly say redo your mods but most people cba :P
Yes you can, but I would REALLLLLY never ever recommend s3pe. CC magic does exactly the same thing but backs up you CC in the process and makes sure that the compressed files stay under 1GB. Plus you can always efit what is in each compressed file. There is no reason to use s3pe at all.
what is the ""script versions" in magic? is it important please, I forgot to have a copy of my clothes cc. and I accidentally put it all in cc magic without it being organized... I've sorted all out in ccmagic but all that's left in "script versions" I have no idea what to do and I'm so scared I feel like I want to cry...

you have no worlds and lots anymore in your downloads folder as CC magic moved them to backup. I would put the worlds and lots into another CC magic set, and disable that set in config (because you already have installed these via launcher, you dont need CC magic to do it again).

@@GreatdaySimmer only the cc thats merged with cc magic, not the stuff you previously merged unless you remove the entire merged file. In cc magic there are 2 ways to remove cc, delete or disable it. One means its gone the other means its just not put into 4he game
You can still do it but after you do you need to delete them from the downloads folder before launching cc magic. But I REAAAAALLLYYY don't recommend installing packs, it cause so many issues!!

Sorry if this question is asked a lot or I made it sound super confusing but is it possible to have the cc magic folder in another drive; my sims 3 folder (the one that has the mod folder and saves file) is in my D drive and I did the same thing with the cc magic folder but cc magic didn't open up before I moved my cc magic folder it was working fine also the reason I want to move my cc magic is cause I have tons of cc that are too big for my c drive Any help or response is greatly appreciated thank you very much for the wonderful tutorial 💕
Cc magic cannot be switched to D sadly, it won’t run. The only thing you can do is have it on C but your game on D. Just copy the resource.cfg it creates on C to mods in D!

@@Eikeeful hi again so I followed all steps in your CC magic tutorial. The rebuilt CC is in the chace folder as this video suggests. When I started the game it didn't recognize my rebuilt CC, all my sims were on their vanilla appearance. So I moved all rebuilt CC to package folder and it finally showed up in game. I'm wondering if I did it right because I've never seen people actually moved the rebuilt CC into their package folder like I did?
@@rarebreednoel you may not have enabled it in config in cc magic. It is easy to check where it is going wrong. So in your the sims 3/ mods folder, open the resource file in notepad, it should have a line that links to the folder /mods/cache/config. In that folder there is another resource file, it lists all your enabled folders. Check both those files and see which one is not showing the correct text. This can happen if you game is not English.
Hey, I don't know if you're still here since this was made ages ago haha, I'm wondering if I need to somehow disable or delete my mods folder (In the Sims 3 folder)? Does CC magic do this automatically? I have legacy disabled in config and default with all the default folders I added enabled - is that how I do it? I'm just worried about if it'll run my mods twice or how it'll know to disable mine etc... sorry I'm totally new to this :D
Hi! You don’t put them in twice, you move them from legacy into cc magic. The only thing in your mods folder should be actual script mods and anything you don’t want to merge!

The build is successful, I launch the game and all the hairs and skins are missing. @@Holly-mz3dy hi! This could be a lot of things, is the set enabled in setting? You sure the hairs are in cc magic? Are you sure the sets rebuilt properly? You can check to see if in Mods/Cache/sets the folders should be there for your sets with files inside. In mods/cache/config there should be a file which you can open in notepad and it should list your sets!
My cc and mods aren’t working after I used cc magic and I’m not sure why. I’ve used it 3 other times before and it worked perfectly fine but it seems this time it doesn’t...I don’t know what’s going on. I can’t live without mods and cc...please help me
Oki, did you make sure to enable all sets in config? Are you using a non-english game version? Check: in EA/Mods/Cache/Sets if your sets are in there will files in the called FullBuild. Also check EA/Mods/Cache/Config, open the resource.cfg in there in notepad. It should list all your sets, if not you did not enable them. And also check the resource.cfg in Mods, it should have a line where it links to the resource.cfg in Cache/Config.

If its no on cc magic then cc magic did not put it in game. But all cc magic files are stored in my documents/ea/cc magic/contents so you can search for it there. If you find it and delete it thrn in cc magic press clear cache at the top and thrn rebuild.

@@KubernetePirata well is somewhere, either in cc magic, your packages folder, or attached to some other bit of cc. Pretty simple to see if its cc magic, just disable all sets, rebuild and chrck if its still in game. If it is its not in cc magic, if its not then it was and you just need to enable Sets at a time and see when it comes back to see which set its in.

Sort your CC, then convert all your .packs to .packages, then use CC magic and make folders to organize your CC!

CC Magic only works with package files, not files you installed through the launcher. Could this be the issue?

You may need to test which CC/set is making your game crash by disabling one at a time and testing.

so what do you do with counters .. ive heard that you have to install via launcher but you say that you only use package files?

Leave them there! The resource.cfg gets edited so that folder is read 😊

I've used CC Magic for years and am now struggling to get Nraas and other scripts to pop up when it came to transferring mod files. Is there any trick to get them to work?
I don’t put mods into cc magic! Those I put direct in my packages folder.
can I use cc magic for the cc I merged before? like the one I merged and the new one I just downloaded, because I don't have an unmerged version of the ones I merged anymore :c

@@GreatdaySimmer only the cc thats merged with cc magic, not the stuff you previously merged unless you remove the entire merged file. In cc magic there are 2 ways to remove cc, delete or disable it. One means its gone the other means its just not put into 4he game
Can you still install sims 3 packs through the launcher or will you have to make the sims 3 packs into packages and install them this way?
You can still do it but after you do you need to delete them from the downloads folder before launching cc magic. But I REAAAAALLLYYY don't recommend installing packs, it cause so many issues!!

Nothing drastic, some may not work (though usually they do) and it could possibly slow your game a little.

Sorry if this question is asked a lot or I made it sound super confusing but is it possible to have the cc magic folder in another drive; my sims 3 folder (the one that has the mod folder and saves file) is in my D drive and I did the same thing with the cc magic folder but cc magic didn't open up before I moved my cc magic folder it was working fine also the reason I want to move my cc magic is cause I have tons of cc that are too big for my c drive

Cc magic cannot be switched to D sadly, it won’t run. The only thing you can do is have it on C but your game on D. Just copy the resource.cfg it creates on C to mods in D!

Hi I'm new to sims 3 so I'm wondering if we could find and delete unwanted/duplicated CC like how we can in sims 4 using tray importer? ❤️
Well you would just delete the unwanted CC in cc magic or disable it. As for duplicates you can use dashboard!
@@Eikeeful its hard to look for CCs without thumbnail tho, I don't think CC magic can display CC thumbnail?

@@Eikeeful hi again so I followed all steps in your CC magic tutorial.
The rebuilt CC is in the chace folder as this video suggests.
When I started the game it didn't recognize my rebuilt CC, all my sims were on their vanilla appearance.
So I moved all rebuilt CC to package folder and it finally showed up in game.
I'm wondering if I did it right because I've never seen people actually moved the rebuilt CC into their package folder like I did?
@@rarebreednoel you may not have enabled it in config in cc magic. It is easy to check where it is going wrong. So in your the sims 3/ mods folder, open the resource file in notepad, it should have a line that links to the folder /mods/cache/config. In that folder there is another resource file, it lists all your enabled folders. Check both those files and see which one is not showing the correct text. This can happen if you game is not English.
Hey, I don't know if you're still here since this was made ages ago haha, I'm wondering if I need to somehow disable or delete my mods folder (In the Sims 3 folder)? Does CC magic do this automatically? I have legacy disabled in config and default with all the default folders I added enabled - is that how I do it? I'm just worried about if it'll run my mods twice or how it'll know to disable mine etc... sorry I'm totally new to this :D

You don’t put them in twice, you move them from legacy into cc magic. The only thing in your mods folder should be actual script mods and anything you don’t want to merge!

@@Holly-mz3dy yes! Move not copy! Always good practice to keep a backup though! Just not on your sims folder.
@@Eikeeful Hi! Thank you again for your help! They don't seem to be noticed if I delete the Hairs folder from my mods folder. The build is successful, I launch the game and all the hairs and skins are missing. But if I keep them in obviously it shows up so I guess it's not seeing CC magic somehow.. sorry for being a nuisence with this by the way, really appreciate you helping me
@@Holly-mz3dy hi! This could be a lot of things, is the set enabled in setting? You sure the hairs are in cc magic? Are you sure the sets rebuilt properly? You can check to see if in Mods/Cache/sets the folders should be there for your sets with files inside. In mods/cache/config there should be a file which you can open in notepad and it should list your sets!
My cc and mods aren’t working after I used cc magic and I’m not sure why. I’ve used it 3 other times before and it worked perfectly fine but it seems this time it doesn’t...I don’t know what’s going on. I can’t live without mods and cc...please help me
Oki, did you make sure to enable all sets in config? Are you using a non-english game version? Check: in EA/Mods/Cache/Sets if your sets are in there will files in the called FullBuild. Also check EA/Mods/Cache/Config, open the resource.cfg in there in notepad. It should list all your sets, if not you did not enable them. And also check the resource.cfg in Mods, it should have a line where it links to the resource.cfg in Cache/Config.
can you do this with cc skins? i think ive just broken my skins bc i used this to merge them into a folder 😭
You can merge everything, I just don’t with mods. But skins are totally fine.

And how do I delete items in CCMagic? I manually delete stuff & they are still in my game.
You disable or delete thrm in cc magic then press rebuild. Aka go into the set with that cc, select it and at the top press delete or disable.

If its no on cc magic then cc magic did not put it in game. But all cc magic files are stored in my documents/ea/cc magic/contents so you can search for it there. If you find it and delete it thrn in cc magic press clear cache at the top and thrn rebuild.

I thought so too until I deleted CC Magic, delete DCCaches & DCBackups & they are all gone. Then I reinstalled CC Magic & it's back. Do you have any clue as to what might be the cause?
@@KubernetePirata well is somewhere, either in cc magic, your packages folder, or attached to some other bit of cc. Pretty simple to see if its cc magic, just disable all sets, rebuild and chrck if its still in game. If it is its not in cc magic, if its not then it was and you just need to enable Sets at a time and see when it comes back to see which set its in.

my CC magic keeps crashing every time i open it :( i think its because i dont have my cc organized its all under packages but its too much to organize like way too much
It doesnt crash because of that. It may be crashing if you didnt install the other programs you need. Those are linked on the modthesims page
