Thus we can see his actual armor, and therefore the cosplay, without the red tint obfuscating it.

The Owl cosplay had Lions Claw for his AOW, he used a perfume bottle and did it while covered
Odd choice. I feel raptor of the mist would have been more appropriate for the cosplay. I use Lion Claw on my Guts Role Play.

@@thekaz5225 Owl does flippy slash a lot, so it's either Lon's Claw or Flame Strike.
He actually doesn't use raptor's mist in his fights iirc (except phase 2 bird teleport).

There's so many Ashes of War that you could use for Owl. Piercing Fang is another part of his moveset.
i would've gone with one of the poison ones to fit the theme, but lions claw is such a badass ash of war that i can see why anyone would use it
@@galyxi3412 Lion's Claw fits the theme too. GS Owl has a shuriken-shuriken-frontflipping attack combo that looks a lot like it, and Father Owl will Mist Raven into it if you throw shurikens at him after he retreats.

yep the spacing is perfect. almost no panicking and he knows the timing of every move and how to dodge every move. manual aiming and backstep combos also. just really good

@Captain_Morgan Fair point but in some of the showcase videos he does encounter competent players. You can tell he isn't as relaxed and focuses a bit more. Just like DS3, generally you can figure out your opponents skill level within the first minute or so based on how they move and or if they play reactively/non-reactively.
Funfact: The Black Blade incantation is buffed when wielding that weapon 👍

@Charles Hastings not really, and I went back and discovered that the info was of 1.04 so it probably doesn't anymore. But I do know 100% that it stacks with Blade of Death (Black Knife) due to increasing it's damage by about 10%

That Owl cosplay was amazing! He wasn't running Raptors of the mists because he had Lions claw to imitate that flip slash owl likes to do after the double shuriken.
I recommend St Trina's Torch for it is iridescent
fyi: Chase said - in his latest stream - that he is going to showcase the torch, he just hasn't farmed it yet.

I would love to see you do a showcase on either the Carian Knight's Sword or the Lazuli Glintstone Sword. They have a very unique R2 where they can block an attack and then immediately follow up with a heavy, kinda like a guard counter but faster. They both have the same moveset, so it just comes down to which Ash of War you prefer between Carian Grandeur and Glintstone Pebble.
Dual wield these two swords.

For my faith/ strength lads out there. U can basically true combo someone easy at 125 by catching them with the crucible charge incantation into the malekiths ash. Ccs them with the charge, hits with the slash while they are getting up and the aoe if they linger or try to roll away. Was very successful with this combo
Chase is the nicest PvP God in elden ring it’s always a pleasure to watch his vids.
Really making Black Blade look good. Its split str-faith scaling always made it feel like it's meant to be a super high level weapon, but Chase is rockin' it well at 125.

That Owl cosplay was real cool. People are so creative with this stuff.
One of my favorite invasion weapons when spec'd right and buffed. Can one shot people at 1450 health if you hit with the whole thing. High poise and fake the trade to hit with the opening swing then it can combo the rest of the Ash.
To help answer the question, the Ash of War is faith, which makes it powerful against Deathbirds if you aren't getting obliterated for a long animation, but the damage in general is quite good and the spherical reach makes it the most ideal Bell-Bearing Hunter cheese weapon by sitting on a rooftop on top of him while spamming the ash of war.

I was surprised by how effective the AoW is for roll catching vs. how weak the AoE is on the final part. Nice work as always.. any tool can produce amazing results in the hands of a master craftsman

I love the spin Chase does to start his videos. I would love to see the Great Mace, especially with the Cragblade ash of war.
I think the Cranial Vessel Candlestand would be a fun weapon for a showcase, bonking someone with someone's head.

Fun fact: The AoW on Maliketh's Black Blade, the Black Knife, and Blade of Calling, as well as the Black Blade incantation are all Holy damage. So upping Faith would give those AoW and the Incantation more "OOMF".
Another Fun Fact: Destined Death can be stacked twice if you use two different methods (i.e. MBB+BK, BK+BB, MBB+BB). Applicable during Co-Op, too!

@@awgy9335 I can't say anything about damage, but D.D. weapons have the same attack id and the D.D. incantation doesn't, so the death effect can be stacked with the incantation variant, but not both weapons. I'd open a fight with the incantation and then try to land a hit with the weapon art.
@Charles Hastings flame grant me strength only buffs black flame, not DD flames. The purpose for black flame and DD being different things is that one actually deals fire damage, while the other deals what can best be explained as "unholy damage," similar to weapons with an occult bonus in DS1. Even though maliketh's black blade and destined death flames APPEAR as fire, they actually deal a unique type of holy damage that does extra damage to enemies like the Elden Beast
TL:DR "flame, grant me strength" doesn't buff Maliketh's Black Blade, because that weapons actually does a unique type of holy damage on all attacks, despite being fiery

Destined Death has HUGE hyperarmor. The best way to use it in PvP is honestly by being willing to trade damage, when you see them winding up to hit you and just tank through it; certainly doable between the huge health bar and cooked prawn.
This. I see way too many players try and use most ashes without trading and they’re just not designed that way. A lot of ashes get insane hyper armor which is a pretty clear indication trading is the most effective way to land them

You should really do the Dragon King's Cragblade, it's alot of fun to use. Also that moment in the second invasion when the birds swooped in for the kill was priceless!
I never really like this weapon but want to give it a try now. Great showcase. Str/ Faith builds are so OP.

have you seen crightt’s hammer+greatshield build? i think it would be a fun way to use something as simple as the hammer, and its been a while since youve used an offhand shield
That Owl cosplay was sick, he should’ve added in poison mist or the darkness spell for the smoke bombs as well as the anti-healing pots. Just to round out Owl’s moveset.
Also I would probably have had multiple Dismounters with lion’s claw, piercing fang, and flame strike. The spark perfume is great but he also had that follow up to the sparklers which is essentially the exact same animation as flame strike.

Just completed a +4 using this weapon & the black knife (wee ranged option & stacks well), & whilst I did struggle end game a tad: radagon/elden beast particularly), I did it. Bit too easy to go for easy options end game with other weapon availability on a strength/faith build), but first time I did a complete run with two weapons: did buff with talisman but no casting)! Definitely going strength/faith for the dlc (can’t all be faith resistant surely 🤔)! First one of your vids I’ve watched with the Giant’s plateau used BTW.

My favorite weapon! Love this thing, and the ash of war does insane damage with mad armor, you can tank (almost?) anything with it and still crush your opponent

First duel’s ash of war was lion’s claw, he used it after his first flame perfume bottle
Please do a showcase on Eochaid’s Regalia. The ash of war may not do as much damage as it’s Greatsword sister but you get the straight sword moveset!

Did you do powerstanced bloodstained daggers on a str/arc build?
I wish that malikeths black blade and the black knife would apply the destined death debuff with normal attacks after using the ash of war (similar to the dragon halberd but with the duration of black flame blade) or with their charged heavy attacks.
I ran MBB for weeks and never got anyone whatsoever to fall into the ash of war. Glad to see it can actually be used.

How do you find so many invasions? I’m lvl 150 and can’t find invasions anywhere. Or coop. All I can find is red signs at main gate

If you use this weapon again, you should try the second Heavy attack after the first because you just keep the blade in front of you and lift it up. You can wait to do the second heavy as well letting people aggress you before punishing or making them second guess.

maliketh is probably my favorite ugs in the game, you can also get some insane dmg out of it. 54 str/39 faith gets me 926 ar. at sl125 use faith ring and knot tear to reach 39
Best way to use the ash of war is on aggressive opponents. If you crouch poke and you know they'll roll in. The weapon art will roll catch and they will be too close to dodge the aoe unless they BHS or are just laggy

I don’t really PvP but I do use this sword and I think it’s pretty cool. The ash of war especially is intense.
