I remember when i was really young and I was the only one awake when the movie finished, and the house did that "jumpscare" roar and scared the shit out of me. The fact that the tv was pretty big doesn't make it any better lmao.
I remember if I didn't press play after probably a minute. The house would jump scare me, lol. Just watching this video already makes me nervous still after 16 years of my life, lol
Me and my friend watched this movie and it was like 2 and about to be 3 and so when the movie ended we had to be stuck on the main menu because we were scared of the dark and decided to use the TV for a source of light. We also didn't have the remote so we constantly had to hear the music and the roaring over and over again all night until we fell asleep.
Oh god, I remember being TERRIFIED of this menu. I remember waking up late at night with the menu still playing. I had to go to the bathroom, yet I was scared. Part of me was tempted to just sit there. That menu was SCARY to little me!
I remember owning a DVD of this movie years and years ago when I was a kid. This easily became my childhood horror movie and god damn did the menu scare me back then. But looking back at it the menus they did and bonuses were creative back then. Also I remember learning that the original main menu before watching it wouldn’t jumpscare you, but when the movie finished then there would be a random chance of a jumpscare popping up at any moment. If I could find a DVD for this movie again then god knows I’d buy it in a heartbeat!
When I just so surprised about monster house, that it was nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe for best Animated Feature But lost to both Warner Bros’ Happy Feet and Pixar’s Cars Respectfully, But Monster House did win for 4 other movie awards.
One time when me and my brother shared a room when we were younger. We watched this movie before bed. (We had a small tv) . I just remember waking up in the middle of night , cuz I guess we passed out during the movie. And there was the fricken title screen W/ THE JUMPSCARES!!! I was so scared to go and turn off the tv!!!
When I was young the main menu terrified me and also when my mom and uncle worked at Sears I watched monster house while back I was waiting for them to be done with their job and yes I was a little kid back then
Tito Acevedo you too? I always had to press the X button on my PS3 controller rapidly to start the movie so i don’t have to see the menu But as a 15 year old now, it doesen’t really affect me anymore
When I was younger I remember we didn't have the remote so we would have to go up to the tv and press the play button, and my brother and I would always be too afraid to. XD
i remember laying in my grandmas bed going to sleep and her helping me turn on the movie but i was always so scared of this so i always looked away but the music and the ambience always felt kind of soothing
Same bro, i was 1 y old, that is my favorite movie since i was 1 year, and this main menu scared me. I remember you can watch exclusive pictures of the house.
Back when I was a little kid I had this menu before I remember when it was Halloween my friends came over watching this movie I jumped out of my seat and screamed in terror
Regular haunted houses just have spooky monster but what's more scary monsters you can see and hide from or a creature your standing in as it knows all your movements ready to chop you into bits
Yeah no, another film would be terrible. First of all, the film Is perfect on its own and doesn't need any more story additions. Second, how the hell are they gonna produce another monster house? ANOTHER wife dies? The only thing I could think off is a prequel but nothing interesting happened during the 45 years of the house being haunted before the movie took place, and we already understand the backstory so it's pointless.
Pfft that house is not my nightmares my dad's angry yelling and being that house is my fear but I'll always pray to make sure everyone's problems are gone
I don't know why I wasn't scared of this movie as a little child. Maybe I was made a steel or something. The only thing that made me jump a little was at 2:17
tell me why son that when i first seen the menu i had uh funny feeling like i was gonna get jumpcared then did and i used to be terrified when i would let my curiosity get the best of me and would try to check the bonus clips but would be mortified bein so damn close to the house would ultimately lead to me change it right back to the orignal menu ( i was a lil puss boy when i was younger lol) 😁
I remember when i was really young and I was the only one awake when the movie finished, and the house did that "jumpscare" roar and scared the shit out of me. The fact that the tv was pretty big doesn't make it any better lmao.
I feel u 😂
Well it is a horror movie for kids
I remember if I didn't press play after probably a minute. The house would jump scare me, lol. Just watching this video already makes me nervous still after 16 years of my life, lol
@@Reddest1000 *"Y'know! For kids!"*
Ah man, I was so darn terrified of clicking the play movie button when I was younger.
The power of nostalgia! Absolutely remember seeing this menu as a kid whenever watching it for Halloween or in general. Loved it!
Out of ALL the scary things that happened in this movie the menus screen is what scared me the most and I was 2 when this came out
Actually, for me it was the series of previsualized clipart from the special features.
Practically most of this movie scared me. I was 5 when it aired and watching this at night on cartoon network was an experience i won't forget.
A main menu for a dvd has no business being as cool as this!
Me and my friend watched this movie and it was like 2 and about to be 3 and so when the movie ended we had to be stuck on the main menu because we were scared of the dark and decided to use the TV for a source of light. I did too. The house's jump scare made me real scared when I was younger.
When I just so surprised about monster house, that it was nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe for best Animated Feature But lost to both Warner Bros’ Happy Feet and Pixar’s Cars Respectfully, But Monster House did win for 4 other movie awards.
I mean it was a tough vote tho since happy feet and cars were very popular and well received. But monster house won awards which counts
Imagine losing an award to Happy Feet and Cars. Couldnt be me.

It's still creepy. It's eyes follow you no matter where you go.
When I was young the main menu terrified me and also when my mom and uncle worked at Sears I watched monster house while back I was waiting for them to be done with their job and yes I was a little kid back then
Damn this is nostalgic. I remember my brother playing the jump scare to make me cry and run away
This scared the shit out of me like we lost the remote so we always had to physically press the button
Same
SAME
Nope not me
When I was 6 years old
Same even when I stare at that house I have to cover my self with the blanket.
Wait im not the only one who'd wake up late at night to see the house suddenly scream at me? That terrified me as a kid.
I did too that was crazy my brother never believed me
The DVD menu terrified the crap out of me as a little 5-year old!
Tito Acevedo you too?
I always had to press the X button on my PS3 controller rapidly to start the movie so i don’t have to see the menu
But as a 15 year old now, it doesen’t really affect me anymore
i liked the main menu too
Jakigh Colburn Channel 3 Well, I’m as old as you, and this main menu still gives me nightmares!
Niv Acevedo same!
Same
The jumpscare got me so bad as a kid. I wish someone would upload it
When I was younger I remember we didn't have the remote so we would have to go up to the tv and press the play button, and my brother and I would always be too afraid to. XD
Loxi S I felt that
You dont find to many menu screens like monster house any more. And since corona I've been lucky to binge watch many childhood movies like this.
That scared the shit out of me when I was 4-5 years old
Same here kind of still gets a bit of a jump on me bit that might be due to my jumpy nature
Same
i remember laying in my grandmas bed going to sleep and her helping me turn on the movie but i was always so scared of this so i always looked away but the music and the ambience always felt kind of soothing
Really, that’s interesting. The ambience and the music always scared me
For me the music soothed me and some sounds were calming but some weren't and those sounds scare me like the wood creaks
This is one of the best DVD main menus.
I agree with you
I agreed
💯
This is the only scariest part of the movie, this dvd menu scared the shit out of me as a kid.
If you wait long enough on the main screen, the house will perform a jumpscare.
FredFaz67 ikr!
That is what scared me the most about the title screen
Yep
Yep how is this movie pg-13
FredFaz67 one tip for you it happens after you watch the movie I know because it happened to me
The House: *"YA FOKIN' WOT MATE?"*
In my eyes this is the best dvd menu screens I have ever seen in my childhood and to this day
3:32 - 3:40 This monster house is scary.

Согласен! До сих пор не много боюсь, эта такая детская страшилка...
Eu não tenho medo dessa casa monstro não
I remember as I kid I couldn't watch the DVD intro; I ran out of the room just to avoid Constance's wrath.
This shit always scared me when I was 6 years old
Oh I just love the look at my face on there, especially when I eat the person when they start the movie

"it's gonna be a bloodbath"
I just remember this was the scariest thing to me when watching this movie
I was 1-year-old when this movie came out 1 year ago [2006]. and i'm so glad i'm afraid of the roar in the main menu of the Monster House dvd.
Same bro, i was 1 y old, that is my favorite movie since i was 1 year, and this main menu scared me. I remember you can watch exclusive pictures of the house.
Geez. I'm 24 years old, and even I think this main menu is disturbing.... o.O
3:36 Hey, you wanna see something cool?
I believe I was 2 when this was released they didn't see it until I was 5 or 6. I remember getting the movie at a Bealls Outlet store
This menu absolutely would’ve scared the shit out of me as a kid. Jesus.
Imagine if there would be a live-action version of this in the making, that would be cool to watch
God this scared me half to death.
Hi ps5
This thing still creeps me out the most
I almost wet my pants when I was 5 years old watching this movie.
Recuerdos desbloqueados 😭
Nostalgie 😌
This movie was released the same year I was born. The main menu also scared me to half death. It's one of the only animated movies I love though.
I remembering seeing the monster house roar and it scared the living hell out of me, when I was 3 I’d always run and hide under a table
This house is big and scary
my type of house lol
My house is big but not scary lol
There is something about this menu that creeps me the hell out
The bonus features menu is scary
Back when I was a little kid I had this menu before I remember when it was Halloween my friends came over watching this movie I jumped out of my seat and screamed in terror
Back when DVD menus were fun.
This menu scared me when I was young
What I found about why the house I’s a monster. Because the house got possessed by a women named Constance.
Honestly, I’ve heard of regular haunted houses, but I think this is taking it ridiculously too far (I still like the movie though)
Regular haunted houses just have spooky monster but what's more scary monsters you can see and hide from or a creature your standing in as it knows all your movements ready to chop you into bits
Hmph, I see your point
I DON'T WANT TO DIE!!!!😭 FROM HOUSE MONSTER I'M SCARED!!!
I know it's a kids movie, but that thing gives me the creeps
I was only 2 years old when this movie came out I used to have nightmares about the main menu alone
I Really Love This DVD
it’s hard to believe that it’s now 17 years later and still no sequel like come on man 👨
Yeah no, another film would be terrible.
First of all, the film Is perfect on its own and doesn't need any more story additions.

Si netflix hiciera esto con sus películas sería increíble, antes si habia creatividad. 🙁
