Also- absolutely awesome video- thank you for taking the time to make it. What's interesting is that input lag was observed to be lower over wireless when testing on a PC- I would love to know if wireless is actually somehow faster than wired on an X Box Series X- doesn't seem to be any data out there comparing the two.

This video is awesome and your series is exactly the information I am into. Keep it up, you also saved me some money :) . I honestly wish the Xbox controller was capable of similar latency as the DS4 though :(.

Unfortunately that won't happen unless freaking Microsoft stops relying on 2G Wi-Fi on their Xbox controllers 🤦‍♂️ and permanently switch to Bluetooth 🤦‍♂️

Great test for wired, but the point of the new controllers low latency feature is the way it polls wirelessly. Would be great to see that

Not only. Wired latency also improved, according to Microsoft

I dare you try doom eternal with a series x controller and then switch between an OG xbox one controller wirelessly. For some reason i get massive input lag only with a series x controller in some games despite tested on multiple displays. I noticed this issue sadly on some other games like minecraft and black ops 2. Nobody sadly touches on this topic and it really devalues the series x for me personally.

    • @ErockHQ

Yep same here. I have both the Series X and PS5, and the difference is actually insane. The difference is most noticeable while playing Cold War and it actually affect my performance. The slight delay is really off putting and bothers me a lot even tho it’s so slight. I hope it’ll be fixed soon

    • @SikoSoft

      THANK YOU
Yes, you are right. The lag is there. The input latency is noticeable and it's infuriating. More so is the outright denial and way MS spins their amazing new low latency when I've never noticed as much delay as with the Series X
It's there on Minecraft, as you say. It's extremely present in Cuphead... It's hard for me to get in the groove of Cuphead anymore when so much is down to timing and the delay just can't be unnoticed.
Series X controllers have made the Series X experience become quite disappointing for me.

Hi, thanks for the video. I have 2 debts. What diode model do you use? Do I have to connect the USB cable from the control to the USB port on the host shield? Thanks. One suggestion, why don't you do an input test with the Pi Pico RP2040 board with RP2040-CE firmware.

  • @HeyCMDR1991YT

Why am I not surprised 🤦‍♂️ It's truly disappointing Xbox series controller is still relying on 2.4 gigahertz Wi-Fi to connect with the Xbox series consoles even though they increased the Wi-Fi protocol up to 802.11n which it did help reduce the input lag But even so the latency is still pretty noticeable 🤦‍♂️ why can't they simply take advantage of Bluetooth? I know this because I conducted my own test with my series X with Black Ops Cold War and many other online games I simply cannot bring myself to play online games with my Xbox series controller wirelessly I try to convince my friends and family members you'll have far better experience using the Xbox series controller with a USB cable there are often times the accuracy with the thumb sticks is noticeable I will end up missing the shot with my sniper rifle but as soon as I use my Xbox series controller with the USB type C cable there is no latency🤦‍♂️ I also have a PS5 and let me tell you Sony has beaten Xbox when it comes to the dual shock controllers and the new dual sense controller😍 the latency is incredible it's like I'm using a wired controller I have no problem making accurate headshots and that's because Bluetooth doesn't use Wi-Fi It uses a direct invisible beam That directly talks to your PlayStation console But as for PC do not use the Xbox series controller wirelessly via Bluetooth for some reason the latency is pretty noticeable 🤦‍♂️ But there is no latency if you have the official Xbox One wireless adapter I have noticed the latency is much lower and yes the Xbox One wireless adapter is compatible with the Xbox series controller 😎👍

are you saying when using stock series x controller that there is noticeable latency when playing standard wireless set up (no wireless adapter) on the series x- but NO latency when playing wireless on PC using a wireless adapter ?

      @@supernice_auto
Well just to put it simply so you can understand what I am saying basically when you are using the Xbox series controller wirelessly on your Xbox Series console there is noticeable input lag because it is not using Bluetooth It is using local Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz 802.11n wireless frequency which is not as fast as Bluetooth 5.0 If you are using the new Xbox wireless adapter for Windows 10 It's not using Wi-Fi to connect it's using Bluetooth instead think about it this way the new Xbox wireless adapter for Windows 10 is a USB Bluetooth dongle And the Xbox series controller is equipped with Bluetooth 5.0 And it has proved to be nearly instantly responsive on PC compared to using the Xbox Series controller wirelessly on your series XS console and that's what upsets me the most why Micro shit doesn't take advantage of Bluetooth instead of using Wi-Fi 🤦‍♂️?

@@HeyCMDR1991YT I understand- I've also heard that wireless can actually be faster than wired on new series x controller when playing xbox series x- but I have not seen the data that proves this.

There is no such thing wireless controllers are faster than wired That is false wireless controllers will never be faster than wired controllers That's a fact there will always be very little input latency and the difference is noticeable One time I did test the new Xbox series controller at my friend's house who has the series X the input lag is definitely slightly better but I still noticed there is a slight delay And that poses a problem with online games The biggest problem with Xbox controllers is they don't use Bluetooth instead they use 2.4G Wi-Fi🤦‍♂️ Which has been proven a few times already Bluetooth is actually faster than 2.4G Wi-Fi and the best thing about Bluetooth is there is no Wi-Fi interference unlike Xbox controllers if you have too many Wi-Fi devices connected to your router it can cause your Xbox wireless controller to lose connection 🤦‍♂️ Like me for example all of my game consoles are connected to Wi-Fi instead of Ethernet cable simply because my router is too far to connect all of my game consoles to the router 😢 So I have to rely on 5G Wi-Fi which is actually amazing It allows me to stream movies and TV shows and play online games without lag since my internet speed runs at 200 megabits 😍 Which is enough to watch 4K videos without buffer 😍 That is why I have a wired Xbox 360 controller and a wired Xbox One S controller It has changed the way I play online games on Xbox And I'll never go back to wireless until micro shit takes advantage of Bluetooth just like PlayStation took advantage of Bluetooth on PS3 and I couldn't believe the reaction time is incredible It's like using a wired controller on the dual shock 3 😍 It's pretty much the same on PS4 The wireless input lag is incredible 😍 The PS5 dual sense controller is even more amazing😍 And that's because they all use Bluetooth even the Nintendo switch Pro controller and Joy-Con controllers use Bluetooth Xbox is the only one that is still stuck using the ancient 2.4G Wi-Fi 🤦‍♂️

It depends on where do you play your games on PC and like steam or the epic store or the Windows 10 store AKA Microsoft store if you're using Steam I recommend it using the PS5 dual sense controller but as for the epic store or Microsoft store it's best to use a Xbox controller with a USB cable Do not use it wirelessly through Bluetooth because for some reason the latency is terrible if you have the official Xbox One wireless adapter I found the wireless adapter to have much lower latency almost like as if I am using a wired controller 😲
