I was given to understand that PIP assessments last about an hour on average. Mine lasted nearly two hours. Face to face. Needless to say, it was very thorough. I've had no word yet, but I can't help but wonder if the length of my assessment was a good sign.

It's interesting that your PIP assessment took nearly two hours, which is longer than the average time you were expecting. It's understandable to think about what that might mean. Sometimes, a longer assessment can happen because they want to make sure they understand everything properly. Waiting for a response can make you feel a bit unsure, but it's good that they were thorough. Hopefully, you'll hear back soon with some positive news.

I recently received a copy of the assessor's report which arrived at 6 points for daily living and 4 points for mobility. Needless to say I was underwhelmed. I can't help wondering if the DWP in making their decision consider all the testimony/ written evidence that comes before them or whether they go straight to the assessors report and use only that as their guide? Of course, it may be some time yet until I get the letter from them and then I'll know. In anticipation of bad news, I'm already considering how I'll present my appeal.

It sounds like you're feeling quite let down by the score you received on the assessor's report. It's understandable to question whether the DWP looks at all the evidence or mainly focuses on the assessor's report. Waiting for the final decision can be really stressful. It's good that you're thinking ahead about how to handle an appeal if you need to. Remember, it's important to gather all your evidence and maybe seek some advice on how to present your case effectively. Best of luck, and I hope things turn out better than you expect.
