How can 22 people give this thumbs down? The effort that goes into producing this type of video, the guy tabs it out so accurately, slows it down with a tab running, provides backing tracks and the tabs themselves to down load wtf is wrong with you people? Thanks again Steph for your great work and providing these great vids 👊 stay well bro.
Thanks!
Its called ignorance....
Those thumbs down are jealous and mentally crippled. They are the type who play guitar only upto the 3rd fret. And play only open chords A
G
C 😂
PREACH!
How can anybody give guy a thumbs down? This guy put so much effort into making these fantastic videos. Your work and attention to detail is appreciated Steph. Cheers!!
Adrian Smith's soloing is so tasteful, he just plays the right notes! Love those pedal point licks. Thanks for breaking it down.
That word describes Adrian's style perfectly... tasteful!!! Agree 100%
For years, I used to think Dave Murray played all the solos!
Wow. First person I've seen play it correct. Thank you.
Agree, great job!
You haven't seen much then... here, 2013: ruclips.net/video/tl-DnlgJKFE/видео.html
Dude I almost cried with joy when I heard this, so many tried and failed but you nailed it. Thanks for posting
Thanks
x2
22 people couldn't learn the solo
So many of my favorite tunes and players! Continued success.
Thank you
Oooh, very nice! I especially love how you've slowed it down to half speed so amateurs like me can see and hear better which notes are being played on the fretboard. And if I manage to get it right at a slower speed, it's just a matter of practising it until I feel comfortable and confident enough to speed it up. Great idea! I'd be very tempted to try and learn this after years of just listening to it.
Glad my video can help you!
Adrian's style is very hard to get down. You did it perfectly !
Thanks!
My fav Adrian solo.
Can't stress enough how good your video and playing are. Just keep rocking bro
Thanks! \m/
Wow ! My favorite solo executed perfectly. Respect!
Thanks mate, been waiting for this some 30 years or more!
Flawless. Thank you for the effort to reproduce this song
Man, you help us a lot!!! It is a exactly what we need to progress and try to nail this solo!
Best cover I saw of this solo I saw here, I and saw a lot. Congrats!
Thanks for this eccellent job! Your playing is absolutely exquisite.
I love Adrian's style more than any other.
Just great.
Thanks!
someone nailed the tricky son of a lick! Great man, thanks!
Thanks!
Its never too late to learn. its all muscle memory. Just keep at it.
Wrong. It’s often too late to learn. For example, I’m never going to learn how to be a ballet dancer.
@@JeremiahAlphonsus xD
Try it and let us see
Thanks bro! It was very useful!🤟🤟
Thanks for helping me learn this!
Good job, man! You got a new fan! Cheers!
Very well done. One of the few version on youtube that is actually correct performed.
Thanks!
All thanks for the accurate breakdown of this masterpiece. I was intimidated at first to try it but worked it out over these last 2 days. Adrian has always been my influence and this just sums it up as to why...
Glad it helped! Adrian's solos are rarely very difficult but they always sound great!
@@StephLeGratteux that's true sometimes...but I can tell you this..I had an easier time learning Hammett's lead for The Frayed Ends of Sanity years ago. Its Adrian's compositional approach that makes him tricky sometimes.
thanks man! great job, I love your videos. I wish I had this opportunity when I was 16. But...better late than never. Keep on.
Thanks!
I was sure there was tapping in this! All those years, I was wrong! Thanks for the share buddy!
I just became across this. Nice work! Sounded perfect to me! Thanks, now I can finally work on playing this solo correctly. 😎😃
Thanks! Glad my video helped you!
It's amazing man! Thank you so much!
Thanks!
22 buffoons . thank you for your efforts and epic playing
Haha 22 was a long time ago. Now they're 42 😄
Eddie is proud of you bro.
just one word: amazing!!!
thanks!
Man, i've been always thinking "god, this solo must be so hard to play", but now that i watch how to play it, looks so much more easier than it sounds
Adrian's solos are rarely very hard to play imo
StephLeGratteux His solos have a certain logic and symmetry to them. Playing them is like assembling IKEA furniture. (That’s not an insult. I love how he plays.)
@@StephLeGratteux But they sounds so good to me, no lot of notes all together but melody and feelings, love Adrian's solos.
@@mauriziodelucia I always prefer a few notes with inspiration than a bunch of meaningless notes \m/
@@gregalon Lol i laughed at that analogy xD
bravo !! j'aime beaucoup tes vidéos !!
Awesome man!
Thanks!
Complimenti! Sei bravissimo, ottimo sound, ottima esecuzione ...
Grazie!
Who would dislike this?????????
Probably people who suck at guitar so bad they can't play smoke on the water
Great work
Thank you for all the info (Y), keep up the good work.
thanks
Wow! Congratulations..Bravo
Thanks!
Many Thanks!!!
I already liked the video (long ago when I first watched it .. at least I think...) but I don't think I commented on it. So thank you so much for this video, man!! It is so didactic!! Thank you to making it and putting all the effort to put the tabs along with it and playing half the speed for us!! And making it available for download for us!! Thank you so much!! This is one of my favorite guitar solos of all times from one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite bands!!! 😂
Wish you the best! Be safe and well!
Cheers from Brazil!!
Thanks for the nice comment!
@@StephLeGratteux you're welcome!!

THANKS MAN
Thank you for this tab...you saved me lol
excellent video :) short but very useful
thank you
ty very much!
awesome thank you
thanks
awesome. Thanks for the video
Thanks
Great
Great !!!!
Top!!!
That's perfect but speed it up so I can challenge myself 😂 awesome playing brother! Maybe one day for me. Until then I just a Maiden rhythm guitarist I my basement. Since '87 🤘
That’s my favorite Adrian solo. Could never figure it out from the record.
It does sound just as good at 50% speed
pretty much got this solo (thanks to you and my guitar teacher) Quick question, how hard is Adrian's solo in dance of death?
Glad the video helped you. Dance of death solo is not too hard, there is only one lick which is very fast but as I'm very used to this kind of lick, it wasn't a problem to me.
Congratulations, mutch better than Official Songbook's Tab
Thanks!
Adrian Smith " Wasted years" Iron Maiden
what did you use to get the guitar sound ? you nailed that spacey-reverb of Somewhere In Time.. also are you playing a PRS ?
I use Guitar Rig 3 and I don't have a PRS (this one is a Charvel)
You should do man of sorrows from accident of birth album please!!!
This is a great solo indeed, I 'll have to do something!
Everything is right except at 0:26. I've been learning that part of that solo for a long time now, and I haven't seen anybody play it right. If anybody wants it tabbed out, let me know and I'll show you how it goes.
Please, show me how it goes.
Honestly man I think there’s a few different ways you could probably play it and still sound good
@@parkesy82 for sure, and this guy makes it sound really good, but when I hear a solo, I get an itch in my ear that won't go away until I play it exactly right. I'll admit that I can't even play it up to speed, and have to cheat to get through it. Adrian Smith is a beast, and this solo was the height of his technical ability. Probably in my top 3 all time favorite solos.
@@kevinniemeyer5938 well what is the right way then?

u know u gotta do alexander the great~
I know and I will. I think Somewhere In Time solos are his most inspired
how can play 16th note before the phares? cant get it

I don't play the violin but this seems easy
Your video shines the most on my RUclips window right now. Your video is the best video. Please upload your wonderful videos often in the future. Before I opened the RUclips channel, I had a good feeling of excitement in front of the door. Just as the clear moon appears through the stars in the night sky with the clouds removed, your video appeared brightly through the darkness on my RUclips window. How did you have such a wonderful talent that is full of the mysterious charm of your video? After watching your video, I start the day with my positive emotions. Your video I am currently watching is the most wonderful and wonderful. I feel really happy that your video, which I feel was made with unsparing sincerity, has a feeling that positive energy will come to you in the future and will soon receive a lot of love. .Whether it's a coincidence or a relationship based on an unknown mysterious algorithm, I opened my RUclips window, and your thumbnail caught my eye, so I unexpectedly saw your video. You have the ability to create. Even if the seasons pass and the years pass and the mountains and streams change, I think the RUclips world will never change and will last forever. I'm sitting by the window, reminiscing about the memories I've never been to, and watching your videos. I am also lucky to have such an algorithm like this in space. Even if it is just a passing relationship that I have never seen offline and do not know the name of, I am so happy to meet you through your video in the RUclips world. .I feel like I have finally found what I have been looking for, so thank you. When I watch your video, I feel an ecstatic and pleasant wind brushing my cheeks as the sun goes down in the field and evening. Even if the RUclips road is rough and windswept, and everything in this world moves away from me, I will always keep your video in my memory. Thank you for giving me a positive feeling of happiness through your video.
Thank you so much!
Wonderful sharing!!!!! I want to upload a cover of this song and this helped me a lot!!! thanks!!!! I've subscribed to your channel of course!!
Thanks! Leave a comment here when you post your video and I'll check it out \m/

@@StephLeGratteux here is my cover.... finally I didn't do the solo exact but close in my style of playing... thanks for helping me to play it! :D ruclips.net/video/LrNeVk3-Xyo/видео.html
I just have trouble figuring in that that 1st string 7th fret on that fast opening lick. Are you using it? It doesn't look or sound it?
Same
Hi. What cable you are using
Actually this is great, but i just have a question for this part of the solo... 15
19 0 17 0 17 Do you do a double upstroke? or just hit the 15 fret note i relly dont know hope that you can help me :c
Downstroke on the 15th fret of the E string, then upstroke on the 19th fret of the B string, then legato. So the pick always stays between both strings
Thanks man!
Slow as balls… lovely stuff mate
thanks
Bra fucking vo!!!!!
is the initial legato correct in the tabs? I can't hear B note except the first one and really can't see very well from your or Adrian Smith's hands that this B is repeated
Are you talking about bars 3-4? It's played on the video as it is in the tablatures
@@StephLeGratteux Yes bars 3 and 4. I think the note B on the E string is just once (first time) and later there is B on the open string, That's how I hear it
@@piotrgoacki9070 If you slow down the original version (and these ones too), you will hear the high B note. So I'm 99% sure this is how to play it. Also there is a video where Adrian talks about this kind of plan he often uses. You have the same kind of plan at bar 11 in this solo, also in the beginning of Dickinson "Road To Hell" solo, again in the live version of The Wicker Man, etc
@@StephLeGratteux Thanks for all the info! Really appreciated!
Nice guitar...which is it?
Charvel Pro Mod San Dimas style (made in Mexico)
StephLeGratteux cool
I don't know how the hell you do to play the solo exactly note by note, that's impossible to do for me
how do I get that tone?
with guitar rig 3
StephLeGratteux merci ! :)
whats that nice guitar? :-)
it's a charvel pro mod
thanks Steph for this answer and for the videos of "how to play,..." amazing with the tabs, the 2 speeds, backings.... Dont you feel a big diference in quality and tone between the charvel pro mod and your jackson usa (sl1 i think)?
Aaaarrrr... no puedo con el inicio del solo
the original tempo?
yes
@@StephLeGratteux I mean which is the original tempo?
@@manos333 It's around 152 bpm
7 dislikes?! You people completely got the wrong end of the stick!
