Carnivore/Lion for 10 months. Down 125 lbs. Fixed depression and 20 years of back pain. Off blood pressure meds. Golfing again for real for the first time in a decade this summer. 74 and 76 my last two rounds. Thx to Dr Berry for all the great advice along the way. If you’re just starting, keep going, it’s worth it. You’re worth it.

Ian, I was recently in hospital with pneumonia. I do not have diabetes. 3 out of 6 patients in my ward had diabetes. They had diabetes nurses. In the morning at breakfast they were given cereal and milk, tea, a glass of fresh orange juice, an apple, banana, orange and a fruit yoghurt. After breakfast all 3 were passed out, slept most of the morning. Blood sugars were high so all were given meds. One woman woke, her BM was 7. After breakfast it was 21. I bet this would not have happened if she was given bacon and eggs.

Dear carnivore friends. I noticed many of you need some encouragement and testimony. So here goes.
My name is Eva and I have been sick since I was 13 years old. I was diagnosed with, scarlet fever, juvenile onset rheumatoid arthritis, lactose Intolerance, lupus, gluten intolerance, possible leukemia ( low white cell count), chronic fatigue, depression, ecezma, psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, kidney stones, nephrophisis of the kidney, UTI, bladder infections, plantar fasciitis, lichen sclerosis, vulvodynia, fungal infections and food allergies. The last straw was when I was told I was diabetic and that all the previous diagnosis were wrong. I started In March of 2022 on the Wahls protocol, I drank spinach and almond milk smoothies, I ate vegan and I did lose a little weight. But… I felt terrible, my arthritis got worse, my fingers were freezing up again, my joints swelling, my daily walks were becoming quite painful, again. I was told repeatedly my many different physicians I would be wheel chair bound by the time I was 30. I was told I would likely need dialysis at some point if my kidneys didn’t just kill me one day. I was overweight, I barely ate any thing and I felt awful ALL the time! Exercise didn’t help, nothing anyone told me to do helped. Medications had such terrible side effects. Rashes we’re keeping me in misery! Sometimes I wished I would just die. But, I love my family. My husband is an amazing partner and they always support my efforts to be well. One day, I remembered that in my 20’s I stopped the spinach salads and felt better. I stopped walking with a cane, I remembered this when I woke In the middle of the night early last summer, in excruciating bone pain. Immediately I went to you tube and searched and searched for help. I found, Sally K Norton videos and she had every symptom I had! And she looked amazing! So I followed her advice. This led me to the path of the carnivore diet. Today, after only 5 months? Maybe 6, I did this gradually, I feel amazing. I feel better than I have since I was a child. I just had my 60 th birthday. I have spent my life being sick! Now? I’m thinking about training for a marathon! I’m trying to decide what do to with the rest of my life! I’m finally well! The weight loss has been an amazing bonus. The real joy comes from having enough energy to do what I want. I can’t even think of how to describe the difference. I used to lean on the kitchen sink to hold me up as I washed the dishes, which, often didn’t get done every day because I just couldn’t do it! Now my kitchen is clean always! I never leave the sink with a wet shirt anymore, I feel awake! No brain fog! I sit here now and I’m not angry anymore but absolutely amazed with myself. I went to college! I raised four children and worked! I chose everything carefully to survive but… somehow I managed and now? Now! Wow it’s a bit like when you get a flu or something and you start to feel better and think “ holy cow I was really sick”! Yeah I was REALLY sick for most of my life and now I’m better! People! I’m better! Not jus feeling a little better no! All of my symptoms are gone! No rash, no infections, blood sugar is normal, joints feel great, my bones don’t hurt, no more shooting nerve pain, no more fungal infections, my energy level is high, seriously every symptom has been resolved. I will NEVER go back. Oh… and here is a before and after picture. But… the after was taken a month or so ago and today… I’m even better and a little smaller around then that. So, if you feel discouraged, if you’re sick, I would encourage you to keep trying. If you are anything like me you will be so happy you did.

      It’s true.
People could avoid most of their misery health wise.
It isn’t even difficult, but requires commitment, and intelligence.

    • @RichardHarlos
      @RichardHarlos Год назад +12

@@deirdrewalsh1134 To be fair, it also requires a minimum pool of resources that many people don't have. If a single person was to eat 2 lbs of ground beef per day, they'd be spending between $10 and $15 per day. That's $300 to $450 per month. If they happen to be half of a couple, that's $600 to $900 per month. And, if one or both of these people cannot work and are receiving some sort of public assistance (welfare, food stamps, disability benefits, etc.), this budget may not be something they can afford.
So, yes, for those who have the resources, it does take some measure of commitment and intelligence. But for those who don't have access to sufficient resources, it takes more money. Let's not blanket condemn people as if everyone has the resources to eat this way because many do not.

@@bert_buikema My point wasn't that someone HAD to eat 2 lbs... I used that as an example because of its widespread availability and relatively low cost factor compared to its nutritional profile.

Thank you Dr. Berry. I'm 75, eating carnivore and mainly only beef for 16 months. I have a list of 26 things that have gotten better over these months. Perhaps the one thing that I am most happy and excited about is that my former chemical sensitivities have completely gone away. Since the early 1970s, I could not be around artificial fragrances/perfumes, scented candles, detergents/fabric softeners in peoples' clothes, new carpets, new paint, chemical shampoos, air fresheners and on and on. It made life extremely difficult for me. At the four-month mark I noticed that I was completely healed. For example, I am in the process of painting my house. Today I opened and used the tenth-gallon of oil based paint. No ill effects! No emotional distress, no overwhelming anger or breaking down crying and sobbing without obvious cause. It is wonderful. It makes me wonder how much road rage is caused by those damn air fresheners that so many people have in their cars. Thanks again for all you do for those of us who have ended our former suffering!

There's a book that is still on the market called "Food is Your Best Medicine," written back in the 1950s, I believe. I don't remember the author, but he was a medical doctor, but one who understood that real food is health, not the garbage that people were eating back then. He'd be shocked at how terrible "food" has gotten now, but he had a very good, sound, solid idea for good health clear back then.

@lyricsews Happy to share ... i honestly started the carnivore diet to call bullshit on it; I couldn't see how it would work (thank you years of brainwashing) ... so my plan was to do it, wait for nothing to happen and to feel worse then go back to what I was doing (basically eating myself to death - I figured I was miserable, so may as well be miserable with chocolate and pizza). Within a week my gums stopped bleeding, my rashes and skin conditions were reduced my 50%, my eyes cleared up, I'd lost about a 1lb a day and , better than that, as a chronic insomniac I was suddenly sleeping 7-8 hours a night and/or able to get back to sleep after waking up. My mood and affect gradually improved and within 5 months I was off all anti-depressants and anti-anxiety meds. I went strict BBBE for four months, now I add a few herbs to meals (treat plants like medicine) and enjoy A2 dairy from a local farm. I went from being able to barely jog for 90 seconds before having to stop (January 14, 2023) to running a half marathon (June 7th, 2023). My blood pressure and resting heart rate are that of someone half my age. I'll trade one day of being depression free and happy for a lifetime of candy. I got my wish.

I've noticed a stark contrast between my mental stability whilst trying to recover on a Carnivore meat-based diet compared to being forced to re-feed on a carb-heavy, highly-processed Standard American Diet. Another positive side effect of eating only carnivore that I just noticed this week, is that my skin tags all disappeared. They shrunk and went away, rapidly. This has never happened to me before. I started getting them in my 40s, and they were always a problem around my collar and under my arms. I had to buy wart removal kits to freeze many of them off, and still have some old marks (scars) from where I did those previously. I would have to conclude that it was either the carbohydrates or the plant toxins I was eating over the years that somehow "fed" them so that they could grow. This is a very surprising side effect, and very pleasing to me. I am really happy about this.

Telling my N=1 story again and again to help get the message out there:
During the extreme lockdown here in the Philippines, January 2021 I was obese type 2 with pre-diabetes and high blood pressure. I was suffering from metabolic syndrome. I understood the comorbidity I had as a 58 year old would greatly affect me if I contracted the Rona. I had to lose fat, reverse hypertension, reverse my NAFLD and reduce my HbA1c.
Sitting in my armchair at the beginning of lockdown I saw that the keto/ketovore/carnivore diet claimed it could ‘cure’ my ailments. I watched a bunch of videos and tried to make sense of the linked papers supporting the claims. End result was that it simply made a lot of sense to me.
8 months later, whilst still sitting in my armchair (most of the time). I had lost the 30kg/66lbs of fat that was required to get me down to a ‘normal’ BMI, I GREATLY improved my blood pressure to the point it raised my wife’s eyebrows, she’s a First Responder. My blood sugar was well back in to the ‘normal’ range and I vastly reduced inflammation.
I also reversed IBS that had controlled my life for 40 years (I lost jobs because of it), got rid of decades long debilitating heartburn, my Testosterone went up drastically and I stopped snoring … my wife is happy 🤓 I was ‘foggy’ & forgetful, possible early stage MCI, I sometimes also slurred my words and forgot what I was talking about mid sentence, this has completely reversed! Undiagnosed but recognised by my family I got out of a bad case of lockdown depression.
A few months ago I further decided to cut out most vegetables from my meat heavy Keto WOE, only adding on occasion a little onion, garlic, green peppers and tomato for some flavour… always salting to taste. Improvements are continuing with a pace with better mental health, blood markers, skin condition etc.
Simply eating nutrient dense meat, HEAVY in animal fat, eggs, seafood, salmon … single ingredient real food is all it took …
Whilst cutting out processed food, sugar/carbohydrates and seed/‘vegetable’ oils and most dairy.
We THRIVE when eating our evolved, species specific Proper Human Diet along with some intermittent fasting to mimic the way our ancestors survived.
I’m 2 year in maintenance this week and I’m sure there are thousands upon thousands of people that have similar anecdotal stories to tell … Please tell them … get the message out there!

The keto diet has done great things for me because I have several autoimmune conditions and mostly have been in remission due to low carb and high fat dieting. But lately I noticed that my fasting glucose was going up to around 108 and sometimes higher. This has puzzled me, but I decided to just pretty much quit carbs. This meant the carnivore diet. Well, at first nothing. Still 108. But I have noticed that my sleep has improved. My autoimmune list of issues: narcolepsy, glaucoma, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and psoriasis. Every one of these is close to normal. And were it not for keto and/or carnivore, I don't know what would have become of me. My last eye pressure was 11, and I'm not even being prescribed drops. I have pleaded with people I know with autoimmune to try this, but they can't believe t was really very sick. My sleep was the most deranged part of my life. There is almost zero sympathy for sleep disorders and people have sometimes been angry with me about it. They see me now functioning perfectly normally and that upsets them too, because now what are they going to get on my case about? I found it necessary to quit dairy, and also I have stopped eating after three. Then my fasting glucose finally started going down. And I lost 35 pounds. I'm still losing weight. One other thing. I hadn't seen a friend in several years. She was visiting me and she said she knew for sure I was five years older than her, but I appeared to be at least five years younger. I have dodged bullets because of keto and carnivore. Thank you Dr. Berry.

I've been carnivore for 2 months now ever since watching Reversed. I struggled with severe itching and eczema starting when I was 11. My hands, wrists, and elbows had rashes that always itched and were inflamed. I also had a lot of digestive issues. All throughout my teens I struggled with the same things in various forms and trouble with my periods. I've tried basically every form of diet out there and never saw much change. After finally doing Keto, my skin improved but never fully got to where I wanted it to be. I still had bloating on and off and my energy was low. I cut down my vegetable intake after reading Toxic Superfoods and realizing what oxalates were doing to me. So I was getting close to being carnivore but not there yet. And then I saw Reversed and I was blown away by how powerful the evidence was in support of carnivore. I got rid of the last of my plant foods and sugars and suddenly I felt amazing. I'm 28 now and glad I discovered this at an age where I can prevent a lot of damage. Eating high fat carnivore has made so much difference for me. My skin looks better than it ever has, my hair is thickening again, my sleep is more restful, my energy is great, I don't have digestive issues, my period low back pain is gone, and my mental clarity is so much better. I can't wait to see how I continue to improve over more time. Even though I was only overweight for about a year in my teens, I feel like my body is stronger and more toned even though I'm very slim. My parents have drastically increased their health as well from becoming carnivore and they're in their 70s. I could never go back to eating plants and I wish everyone could feel as good as I do from these changes. Thank you for sharing such informative and useful information Dr. Berry!

My Endocrinologist put me on insulin pump therapy about 20 years ago and I have been using CGM sensors for about the last 8 years. Since i have started Keto I have noticed a dramatic decrease in my blood sugar spikes. I have had no low blood sugar episode and I had to drastically reduce my blood pressure medication. In fact I think I will be able to stop taking them completely. My daily insulin use went from 87 units per day to 37!!!

I injured my right knee about 15 years ago & it's been swollen & painful most of the time since then. After 2 weeks of going carnivore, the swelling & pain are gone. I can now kneel on that knee. I can bend it without being in excruciating pain. My jeans fit better now because my knee is not swollen.
I've also lost 10lbs so far and I haven't had a chance to really work out because I'm so busy with my business - thank God. But I've been using my standing desk and walking to my mail box is the extent of my workout. Thank you Dr. Berry.

Nice, I had a terrible knee injury myself, even had an operation last year. It was not stillgiving me trouble months after the op, but since beginning carnivore in January, it is back to normal again!
I can even run on it now

    Works. All i can say.
Four-ish years with a combo of carnivoure/keto and some if thrown in. Spectacular results which are long lasting. The occasional indulgence hasn't given me trouble. Dr. Berry himself stated in an olde video that keto is forgiving.
    Try it folks!

I started the carnivore diet on June 5th of this year, so 7 weeks ago. I have lost 20 pounds, and my heart burn, which was a daily thing, stopped immediately. Heartburn and acid reflux on Sunday night, no heartburn or any other symptoms of indigestion since. I started it because a couple of RUclipsrs I watch said it helped them with inflammation and eczema. I'm still waiting for the eczema to go away, but I haven't felt this good in close to 40 years. (I'm 62).
I wish I enjoyed eating meat more than I do, but I will continue with it as long as I am feeling well.

I began the Carnivore diet 4 weeks ago and have been absolutely amazed! My glucose is no longer pre-diabetic but instead normal 83 to 93. My acid reflux is completely gone. I suffer from RSV lung condition which I use an antihistamine each day. Within the first week the associated cough I get every day was gone so I have not had to take an antihistamine in 4 weeks. Which has been the ultimate gift to me on this diet. My skin is healing to the point that my husband remarked how great my skin looks. I wasn’t looking for all these benefits just weight loss. Yes, I have lost 18 pounds in 6 weeks. I began intermittent fasting 2 weeks before I found the carnivore diet. Game changer. I have 50 more pounds to lose before my goal but this is the closest I have come to that in years and the most delicious way too! At 65 years of age I feel better than ever!!!

When I started last Sept, my GFR, was 32. Last April my GFR WAS 62. ONE WEEK AGO my GFR WAS 64. IN FACT ALL MY READINGS WERE BETTER NOW THAN THEY HAVE BEEN IN YEARS. My LDL cholesterol is now 114. Only one thing was not within range...Thyroid T4 was low, but only 2 points from normal. The other thyroid tests were all in normal range. Oh yea, loss is at 97 lbs. Off all blood pressure meds. My heart rate is sometimes only 54 to 65, so that is a bit of a worry, but symptom free!

Thanks a lot Doctor Berry, you ara my hero!

I have been on totally carnivore for around 9 months and before that roughly 6 months of ketovore. The first thing I got rid of was some extra weight and, in fact, I had to somewhat force myself to eat a little more than I thought I needed in order not to loose too much. Next was no more indigestion reflux so I got rid of the Prilosec after years of using that. Next I got off of both of my blood pressure meds that I have been in since in my mid to
Late 30’s and I am 60 now. Brain improvement is noticeable and my sleep is much better and now after years of sleeping till 9 or later I am up between 6:30 and 7. I do work out with weights and do some cardio. I have visible abs again like I have not had since I was probably 18 but actually better than then. The carnivore diet has been a life changer for me thanks to you and Dr. Baker, and Dr. Chaffee and several others. Keep up the good work.

I’m currently using the carnivore diet to improve chronic candida. I have had a couple of breakthrough episodes during the 80 days I’ve been carnivore, due to deviating with a few berries or alcohol, but nothing like before. I have suffered since age 19 & I’m 48. I am also documenting on RUclips, upon your encouragement several months ago on one of your Monday night lives. I can’t thank you & Neisha enough for your service to humanity! You are probably one of the few doctors in life that have actually HELPED me. ❤ Oh, & I’ve also improved my insulin resistance, went from obese to just “overweight” on the BMI scale, reversed my pre-diabetes, healed my chronic gastritis, gerd, sinus issues & horrible constant post nasal drip, fixed my B12 deficiency, reversed my peripheral neuropathy, chronic joint and muscle aches, chronic fatigue and excessive daytime sleepiness, acne, hot flashes, and that’s just what instantly comes to my mind…I’m sure there are other things! 😂

I’ve been eating carnivore for 8 months, keto/LC for 6 years prior. My TMJ pain is totally gone, no more popping in the jaw joint and have improved my range of motion, and I can chew food comfortably now, totally giving the credit to Dr Berry and his vital information on the PHD. Proper Human Diet. 🎉
