1. Make a line path using the pen tool 2. Remove fill 3. Open the layer of the path and go to Add > Trim Paths 4. Add a key frame for End 5. Set the first key frame to 0% and the last key frame to 100% 6. Make them easy-ease by selecting them and pressing F9 Btw thank you so much for making this video! You made it seem really easy and simple :)
Dude, I'm a freaking idiot. Learned this Day 1 in AE class and forgot all about it. I can make holograms and light sabers and books and everything, forgot how to animate a freaking line.
TNice tutorials man is so good at explanation ...since I have been watcNice tutorialng soft soft tutorials , tNice tutorials is my first ti to really understand it . I love soft
I was really sad when I couldn't find a video on this topic. Thanks to you I now have the info I need to make a video I'm super excited about. Thank You :)
Thank you so much! This taught me so many basic AE principles that I was trying to figure out (like creating an animated trim path - I didn't know what that was)
Again, awesome tut. Just got another subscriber. This might quickly become one of my favorite channels. It's so hard to find videos that go straight to the point but in an easy way to follow.
This is amazing! I've been trying to complete a project in Premiere pro with the same idea, but instead of in and out points, I was using the crop tool to create the animation. Its taking ages to render, and its almost tragic how quick you did this in after effects after hours of work for me in premiere pro, with a less visually pleasing outcome xD.
IF YOURE LOOKING TO CHANGE DIRECTION OF LINE ANIMATION - when drawing the line, make sure the starting point is where you want the animation to start, and end point is where it ends. thats it :)
@@AreeshaBukhari I wish I can help you but I haven't found any videos yet. I kind of played around with Ae and took some of the information from the video. The video I was working on is done so I can't fully remember. Good luck.
Thanks so much! So happy you liked it! We actually have a separate tutorial for how we created the map and it's here: ruclips.net/video/zbz7Pvib4Yo/видео.html Hopefully this answers your question! Cheers! 😄
Good tutorial. However I would recommend explaining every thing you do related to what you want to achieve. For example the "easy ease" you did on the line, you could have mentioned what it does. Anyways, a quick google search always helps. Just a tip for you :)
This is so cool! I'm a fairly new content creator and learning how to animate lines--in my head--would be a nightmare of keystrokes and things I didn't know how to do---this video is awesome! Definitely subbing for more quick tutorials. Thanks!
this is 2/2 tutorials I have tried to follow along but when I do, my final resultant the same... in this case when I start drawing with the pen tool, even though there are no layers selected, it makes a mask instead of a shape layer...?
Hi: can you make a video to show how to make a moving vertical line from left to right at a constant speed? I like to overlay this line to music score as music is playing. Thanks a lot, Joe.
1. Make a line path using the pen tool
2. Remove fill
3. Open the layer of the path and go to Add > Trim Paths
4. Add a key frame for End
5. Set the first key frame to 0% and the last key frame to 100%
6. Make them easy-ease by selecting them and pressing F9
Btw thank you so much for making this video! You made it seem really easy and simple :)
This
Also you can remove the fill before creating the line
No time wasted, straight to the point and super clear.
THANKS!!
Cheers! So glad you liked it!
The shortest and most up-to the point video I have come across. Bless you!
This is the most quick and easiest tutorial I have ever found so far. Thank you
You're welcome! So happy you liked it!
