I suffered two years of depression I recovered by watching John meadows videos day in and day out and he got me back in to looking after my health he gave so much of his knowledge for free to me it felt like I've lost a family member he is a role model for many people to inspire to be like.he teached me to be a better version off myself May god bless him the highest mountain in heaven and make it easier for his family
What an absolute golden human being. If he were here right now he’d probably tell us all to keep going and succeed with whatever it is we do. He was just like that constantly supportive and loving of everyone around him

The entire bodybuilding community should have a moment of silence to pay tribute to a man who gave so much back to the sport he so much loved. He was / still is the face of bodybuilding to me. I read a status on Facebook on Sunday evening (UK time) by Dante Trudel. It read “Horrible absolutely horrible…..devastating….man I just cannot fathom this…..” I assumed there’d been an act of terrorism or a disaster of some kind. Just as this happened a message from friend of mine flashed up on top of my screen - “Some stuff on Facebook says John is dead ? A bodybuilder ? Meadows ??” I just preyed it was fake news or a mistake of some kind! When I found it was true I was bowled over and instantly cried! This was how I felt and yet I’d never met the guy in the flesh!! I was shocked at how much it has effected me to be honest, I didn’t know what an impact he must’ve had on me!! My thoughts and prayers are with Mary and his two sons!! I feel for you too Fouad, obviously you were close to him and the emotion in this great tribute is clear! I do hope he’s watching from above and can see the sense of loss the bbing community it now feeling!! Rest in peace Mountain dog!! 🙏🏼
I’m sure John was super appreciative to have fouad as a friend. He was all about getting along and friendship. And fouad does exactly that with his podcasts. He brings people together. I’m sure John’s smiling knowing the industry is in good hands 🙂

I know you were probably at home Saturday night so excited for the upcoming week considering how well your close friends like Iain and Ben did by winning their shows, only to be hit by such a sudden yet saddening event. I know John was so much more than a coach to you Fouad, and for that, I am truly sorry and will keep you as well as his family in my prayers. RIP to the Mountain Dog.
There's been a few tragedies in the industry in the past few year's but i don't think I've seen so many video's of people showing such raw emotion before as i have the past two day's for John. And i think that in itself is a testament to how universally loved he was. I've learnt so much from his video's in recent year's and a lot of stuff i do in the gym, is from watching him. Such as always starting leg day with leg curls, starting shoulder day with rear delts, incorporating heavy side partials and using "Meadow" rows when wanting to add a bit variety to back day. Reading he had passed hit me hard. And i think more than anything, it was because he seemed such a nice guy and the world is now worse off without him. So to hit someone as hard as it did me, just being a fan - I'd hate to think what yourself and many others close to him are going through. Stay strong Fouad, and RIP John "mountain dog" Meadows. 🙏🏼
As an introverted person that doesn’t speak to many people watching John was a big part of my life. John was the perfect gentlemen I wish I got the chance to meet him in person, through watching hours and hours of his content it felt as if I did know him. Every time he started his videos with “Alright hi everybody” it made me smile. Going to miss learning from him. However the knowledge I gained from him I will keep on applying not just knowledge gained in the gym but on how to be a better person. Stay safe guys.

As soon as I heard the news I thought of you and Terrance Ruffin. I’ve never met any of you, but for whatever reason I feel so connected to all of you. John was so wonderful. Everything from his “alright hi everybody” to his t-shirt collection to his under dog grit. He’s going to be missed.

I was heartbroken when I heard the news. He was such a friendly, kind, and enthusiastic person. I remember I left a comment once, saying how great a teacher he was, and he replied saying that teaching was his favourite thing in life. A gentleman and a friend to all. I still miss you John,

Whenever I would watch John’s videos I would look forward to the happy and enthusiastic “Alright, hi everybody”. He was so genuine even through videos just like you said Fouad and you could tell he genuinely wanted to see the people around him succeed and be happy. His live QnA videos during the heart of lockdowns really boosted my day in such an uncertain times, just to listen to him talk about the things he loved made me happier. RIP Mountain Dog
This has been my take as I reflect on his passing. Body building was the medium for a much bigger message. John was teaching us humility, kindness, and perseverance. John was teaching us to be better humans and not just how to build a pretty physique.
Fouad, John was a good man. I as well as many others gravitated toward John for a long time. And want you to know you are in the same category I’ve put John in. You both genuinely are good men. Appreciate you putting this video out. Continue to carry the torch that he lit. 💪🏻
I started watching Johns videos during my 160lb weight loss journey. From there I saw him interact with fellow colleagues and his family via his RUclips videos. John was one of the few that I continued to watch and follow because of his character and demeanor. Thank you John for the indirect support and advice that helped me get to where I'm at today. If you cant talk about your feelings, write them down, or focus on them when they occur so you can process the emotion. Easier said than done, but if you do the work, it works for you. Makes life a little less hard.
Johns legacy should be that nice guys don’t finish last. He set a standard that all men should aspire to. Be kind, act like a gentleman and give knowledge when you can.
The world definitely got a little darker. The past 2 years I’ve learned so much from John. His no click bait style videos taught me so much but his demeanor is what always brought me back. Always lifting others up and showing kindness to all.

I’m new around here, I’ve never heard of a man as powerful as John and not his body, everyone who ever met him admired him. A man who was massive in every way but most of all in character.

He did genuinely cared. He was down to earth, he was one of my 1st followers on IG when I didn't even had 50. 😔😔,, I never got to work with him but he helped a little with messages, etc. Just straight up humble.
There are extremely few people you could trust completely without ever meeting them in person. John was one of them.
A great role model in every way.
John taught us how to be good men, and that’s something that’s sorely needed today. We lost the best of us, let’s try to emulate what he stood for, I think that’s the best way to honour his memory

As soon as I heard the news I thought of you and Terrance Ruffin. I’ve never met any of you, but for whatever reason I feel so connected to all of you. John was so wonderful. Everything from his “alright hi everybody” to his t-shirt collection to his under dog grit. He’s going to be missed.
John had a light that shined overly brighter then most, so bright that you could see the goodness in his soul, I really feel for his wife, children, and true friends 🙏🙏🙏

I was heartbroken when I heard the news. He was such a friendly, kind, and enthusiastic person. I remember I left a comment once, saying how great a teacher he was, and he replied saying that teaching was his favourite thing in life. A gentleman and a friend to all. I still miss you John,

Whenever I would watch John’s videos I would look forward to the happy and enthusiastic “Alright, hi everybody”. He was so genuine even through videos just like you said Fouad and you could tell he genuinely wanted to see the people around him succeed and be happy. His live QnA videos during the heart of lockdowns really boosted my day in such an uncertain times, just to listen to him talk about the things he loved made me happier. RIP Mountain Dog

This has been my take as I reflect on his passing. Body building was the medium for a much bigger message. John was teaching us humility, kindness, and perseverance. John was teaching us to be better humans and not just how to build a pretty physique.
John wouldn’t want us to be sad. He would want us to accomplish our goals and enjoy life!
Fouad, John was a good man. I as well as many others gravitated toward John for a long time. And want you to know you are in the same category I’ve put John in. You both genuinely are good men. Appreciate you putting this video out. Continue to carry the torch that he lit. 💪🏻
I started watching Johns videos during my 160lb weight loss journey. From there I saw him interact with fellow colleagues and his family via his RUclips videos. John was one of the few that I continued to watch and follow because of his character and demeanor. Thank you John for the indirect support and advice that helped me get to where I'm at today. God bless his family and friends. May his legacy live forever. 🙏

Why can't you talk about your feeling now?
If you cant talk about your feelings, write them down, or focus on them when they occur so you can process the emotion. Easier said than done, but if you do the work, it works for you. Makes life a little less hard.
Johns legacy should be that nice guys don’t finish last. He set a standard that all men should aspire to. Be kind, act like a gentleman and give knowledge when you can.
The world definitely got a little darker. The past 2 years I’ve learned so much from John. His no click bait style videos taught me so much but his demeanor is what always brought me back. Always lifting others up and showing kindness to all.

John would answer every question I posed to him on RUclips. He really did care about people he didn't even know. Yes, John was a phenomenal human being. He will truly be missed. He was a ray of light in a sea of darkness. He was one of a kind.

I’m new around here, I’ve never heard of a man as powerful as John and not his body, everyone who ever met him admired him. A man who was massive in every way but most of all in character.

He came across as a passionate and kind person, striving for others to achieve excellence. As a father I imagine what it must be like for his boys to wake up every morning and realise their hero is gone. Not to mention his wife. Truly upsetting. RIP.

It’s a sad day when the Earth loses a person like John. In the sport of BB everyone has an ego they want fed but John wasn’t that type of person. He was genuine, he was kind, and he will be remembered for this always.
I really appreciate u posting this. as someone who's starting to bodybuilding its good to see emotions being involved. my ex passed away a month ago and I had to move and so much more and just being able to watch this video and finally shedding some tiers with is releasing so much pain. thank you man we will all get through this John made the bodybuilding Community better and we are all here for each other.
