    My 2 daughters mother passed from suicide nearly 2 yrs ago...
    They know it..
    Her family knows it...
    She messaged one of my daughters and a couple of people about it just prior to finding her...
    It sucks...it's sad
    But my girls know it to be true..
    She was bipolar and ADHD..
    Tried it before...
    Her family though has decided to make that it was an accident and she didn't intend to do it...
    That's fine,it's a hard reality to understand...it annoys my littlest one, cuz she KNOWS they know and insist on acting like it was an accident...
    Families and loved ones struggle with this particular passing, it's stigma...
    Just thought I'd share...
    My girls know the mental struggles their Mom dealt with...
    And they,with counseling and time have healed(to the degree one can move forward)
    Best to you both
    And to his loved ones...
    Pain from loss loved ones is the hardest,worst,and most confusing to deal with
    TC

    I think anyone who has taken the time to listen and follow along with this story understands Luke was too aware of his own health for heart failure to be an accident. This technicality is to benefit those closest to him that may not understand his struggles to ease their minds from wondering. I think ultimately the conflicting statement came from a place of compassion for the hearts and minds of Luke’s children. Not to contradict or make anyone out to be a liar. I think it is important to understand “both can be true” and the importance of mental health for the rest of the community, while also acknowledging this new information doesn’t come from a place of ill intent.

    • @FouadAbiad
      @FouadAbiad  4 года назад +69

      I think making Luke look like a steroid abusing bber and saying that was the cause of his heart attack comes from a place of ill intent regardless of who its trying to protect.

    • @johngallagher9589
      @johngallagher9589 4 года назад +14

      Fouad Abiad the only people who believe that aren’t real fans of Luke and they’re the same people who would have said the drugs made him commit suicide if that was listed as the cause of death. Unfortunately people suck, and they will believe whatever narrative fits their biases. There is an unfortunate stigma that comes with this lifestyle but for those who listened to Luke, you, Ben, and James they know the truth. They know Luke wasn’t reckless and he was very much in the drivers seat with his supplement use. Your protectiveness of his legacy is well placed and I believe you all are doing the right thing by him. There is just more at play than what we see at face value. You can’t change the opinions of people who are ignorant of the situation and want to believe they can blame PED’s for what happened. Speak your truth, spread your positivity, and fuck anyone who revels in your loss.

    It doesn't make sense how it's changed but I can see why. They want to protect his kids from thinking he was selfish or have them blaming themselves. However they should have released this ages ago. Luke never took high doses.

    • @robbyybt
      @robbyybt 4 года назад +8

      Everyone responds differently though, some people get gyno from barely any ped usage and some can take huge amounts and never get gyno. For how easily luke put mass on compared to everyone else it would seem reasonable he would be more susceptible to heart hypertrophy compared to regular users. (not stating its what happened, just logically could see it being a case)

    • @Keep_It_G
      @Keep_It_G 4 года назад +10

      Kevs2good this occurred during the lockdown. He would have no need to take higher doses with no way to train. What the new report does is takes away from the mental health aspect and paints bodybuilders in a worse image

  • @jackwallfitness
    @jackwallfitness 4 года назад +15

    Luke used to train me and my ex partner in Essex, and we knew him for many years. He was never really close with his family, but had other issues which aren't fair to discuss. If you have half a brain its not hard to see what you could use to cause loss of consciousness and then ultimately heart failure. Either way its such a shame as the guy was hilarious and just fun to be around. Lastly he never used stupid amounts of drugs, I even pushed him to let me use more and he always said you don't need it - which was true.

    Sorry but I think waiting to release that post until his birthday is disgusting.
    Allowing his closest friends to grieve all this time, wondering if they could have prevented his death is truly terrible. It’s almost mean.
    It’s such a selfish and self-important mindset. I get it, his family don’t think they owe anyone an explanation but to hold onto that info and stay quiet just so they can make a ‘big announcement’ on his birthday is so, so weird.

    We all really need to be supportive of the boys here especially Ben. The statement was clearly a jab at the painful information Luke’s best mate had to release in the name of honesty. There will be character assassins going after him here but, we all know there was nothing to gain in Ben divulging the information other than being an honest person. Sadly, this may be a financial move or simply a way for the family to protect his children. Either way we need to let the man rest and give love to everyone affected by this loss of life.

    As you are saying how both stories can be true at the same time, I believe I understand where you are coming from with that statement Fouad. To the extent he induced heart failure to lighten the story on his kids? In any event just his passing is heartbreaking, and he did inspire a great deal of people to better themselves! I understand the intentions but seeing the reactions of people accusing his friends (you guys, redcon1, ect) of lying to everyone for clout and to protect bodybuilding is beyond me. I have only recently got into body building. A bit strange you might think for a fourty year old woman you think but hey. I came across Luke and Fouads podcast randomly at 3 am on RUclips. Their honesty and humour had me hooked. Luke seems to have been the kind of guy that would stick up for the underdog. Honestly a genuinely nice guy who cared about his family his friends and his fans. Many people in the public eye forget where they came from, Luke always had his feet on the ground and whilst I'm sure he wasn't perfect he certainly had his head screwed on. I never knew him beyond RUclips, the podcasts, Instagram posts and promotions for redcon1 still, when I found out he had passed away I felt a loss. I hope when all this internet noise has calmed down, and you get some time to yourselves; you both take the time to appreciate what phenomenal friends you have been and that so few people out there have the integrity to approach such a difficult topic in such a difficult circumstance and deal with all of that whilst taking the harsh truths head-on yet still steadfastly protecting their friends privacy. You have both been remarkable sources of respect, dignity and loyalty at a time when such qualities seemed to be in extremely short supply. And as is so clear in Ben's case, despite the obvious pain and loss, nothing has stopped you stepping up to defend your friend. - its incredibly reassuring to see that people can still find the courage to find their best even at a time when things must feel so awful.

      As a medical professional I can say for sure, insulin is not easily traceable....it’s metabolic action is quick for a reason, to remove excess glucose from the blood stream so the brain essentially has the right amount of glucose to maintain normal function

    The saddest part of all this is that a great person and a great bodybuilder went far too soon. It’s a tightrope of emotions around how and why Luke left and the messages his family and friends want to put out.. shout out to Ben and Foaud for putting this message out there.. RIP Luke ❤️

    I'm a 47 year old woman who listens to this podcast because bodybuilding is something that I love. I liked Luke a lot and his passing was something that really impacted me. Having lost people that I loved very much, I think that his family has all the right to say, at this point, anything they want. The pain they are going through is something one can't explain. Of course I'm not dismissing Ben's pain because he also lost his best friend, a brother. The only thing I don't understand is the "dancing around" the subject. It just creates more confusion and more speculation.

      He did not get along with his family and they do not have a right to tarnish his name with lies saying he had a heart attack that was brought on by bodybuilding which draws implications that it was drug abuse when it clearly was not.

    • @janbuterfly
      @janbuterfly 4 года назад

      @@FouadAbiad I'm sorry, but I disagree. I think the stigma of suicide is real. Between the two options, the one they've chosen might be the one they can deal with right now, one that his kids can find more of an explanation of what happened. Think about it, this is his family and family's dynamics are sometimes difficult to understand. Even if though he didn't get along with them, they still hurt for this tragedy. The same principle can be applied to what you just did when posting this so fast as if your feelings and what you think is more important than what his family posted. This has very little to do with bodybuilding. It's about losing a loved one so suddenly a tragically. This video, in my opinion, is of very bad taste.

    I can’t imagine how hard it is for you guys and indeed his other friends and family. Like you’ve said in previous videos nothing will bring him back and the specific details of his death shouldn’t matter to his fans. What matters is remembering how great he was and how many he effected positively.

    Just saw MD live reading of the family letter. Firstly to see you guy's this sad again is difficult, be strong guy's. Without the toxicology report being made public only continues the speculations and the lack of respect from others with their misguided opinions. With no disrespect to anyone especially the family, i am 100 behind you guy's words on this. The end of the day, bodybuilder or no, Luke was a lovely guy, its so sad that he is gone. Forever in our memories R I P Luke

    I saw that post today and I was taken back. I just don’t understand why someone would go in his page and blame bodybuilding or even his sponsors in causing his passing. I believe that Luke was well aware of everything going on in his life and I don’t think that the bodybuilding did it. Coming from the medical field that I work in yes you can have both heart failure and take your life at the same time because when your heart stops and you can’t be revived it’s automatically documented as heart failure. But I doesn’t mean that it couldn’t be the opposite as well. Thanks Ben and Foaud for this. Love you both as my brother and to Luke.... RIP because I know you’re fired up but your boys got you my man 💪🏼🙌🏼

    Hearing the idea that Luke Sandoe was so health conscious so that means he wouldn't have heart problems was ridculous, because he was a mass monster at the Mr Olympia level. There simply isn't any healthy way to do that. There's no such thing as mitigating the harm. It just comes down to genetics. Some people's DNA allows them to last, others do not.

    Just to speak as a pathologist to clarify what is being said - there is a manner of death and a cause of death. Suicide is a manner of death, others include natural, homicide and accident. Heart failure is a cause of death, technically it is always a cause of death which is why it is discouraged to be used as the ultimate cause of death on a death certificate. It is often used when autopsy does not find any other more specific causes of death and it can be the cause of death when the sequence leading up to death is included (eg coronary artery disease leading to heart attack leading to chronic heart failure). Thus, you can die of heart failure by manner of suicide which is what they are saying, both can be true.
