Hi Andreas, Many thanks for your comment that is very kind of you, thank you. I’m just trying to pass on as much knowledge to help golfers learn. Many thanks Warren
Possibly the best bunker lesson I’ve seen. I’ve never heard anyone say it’s not your normal swing, or that you should break your wrists. Can’t wait to try it. Thanks.
Great video Warren/Trev, particularly the bit about “straight”. I like little memory aids i.e. the 4 S’s and will definitely be trying that out over the weekend. Thanks mate, hope to see you soon!
Great bunker instructional video! I have been guilty of the swinging toward the flag, but no more! I have two questions, weight distribution in your stance & your bunker club grip...do you use your normal playing grip? I have seen instructors state to have more weight on your target leg & use a butterfly grip (left hand - strong & right hand - weak, for a right-handed player) for bunker play.
That is the best bunker video I've ever seen by a distance. It covers virtually everything I've been doing wrong since I changed to a golf club nearer home with different sand and my attempts to adjust have failed. miserably !
Hi Mike, wow thank you so much, I really appreciate you taking the time to message and I’m glad you found it beneficial. Although I love doing the videos, having feedback like this makes it all worthwhile. Many thanks Warren
@@warrenbennettgolfacademy I played this morning and managed to avoid the bunkers (!) but using your "smash bag " drill and set up suggestions I had my best ball striking round since I had my right ankle fused. Got 43 points off my geriatric handicap with a blob !! My friends at Churston Golf Club are now aware of your site !! 👍👍👍
Hi Glen, Many thanks for watching the video and taking the time to comment and give me feedback. I’m glad you could relate to it and it made sense, It is important with bunker play to keep to the fundamentals. Many thanks once again and wishing you a happy and healthy 2024 on and off the golf course . Kind regards Warren
Hi Richard, I would say the bounce is more important between the two surfaces. Soft or deep sand I would go for more bounce which for me is my SW. Firm or little sand in the bunker requires less bounce. To answer your question it doesn’t matter which club but you must have more leading edge coming into the sand if firm sand. Other than that it’s normal. Hope that helps Richard. Regards Warren
Hi Dave, I would always encourage a steeper plane with longer chips and pitching, anything with the club passing parallel to the ground, short chipping that doesn’t require length I would focus on keeping the club straight back and through. Steepness in a bunker is always more exaggerated though Dave. Hope that helps mate and if you want to send anything over for me to look at I will get back to you. Regards Warren
Warren, I gave up watching after a few minutes because you were repeating everything 6, 7, 8 times and it was doing my head in. Just say and show the four ‘S’ s once, maybe twice and the same for the other points but for God’s sake, don’t go on. This video could have been much shorter.
Extremly underrated RUclips Instructor! He knows very well what he ist talking about!

Just found this Warren and really needed this lesson thank you
Cheers Graham 👍
Thanks for making the bunker instruction so simple. I can now identify all of my current bunker play faults.
Tnank you Warren!!! I love your video instructions along with TREV. Let me tell you i have improved a lot my game. Thanks!
Thank you so much and I’m so glad I can be of some help to you.

Thanks Ray, yes I still find myself instinctively going back to little anchors I was given or picked up about many aspects.
How has it gone?

Brilliant video lesson thank you. Can I ask would you suggest using a 56 degree sand wedge or 60 degree lob wedge for most bunker shots
Good video . Whats your ball position, it doesn't look that far forward ?
Firm or soft sand? Sand iron or lob wedge?

I warren you said keep its steep even with the short game how far are you talking away from the green keeping it steep 👍
