Thank you so much Barry, you dear Ole man of the sea. You and white shadow make a neat pair. Have watched you from the beginning with no regrets and you are the best! Am I wrong or did you trim your hair off, if so you look a lot better. Love to hear your theme song at the end as it brings back sweet memories of your beginnings at sea. Take care my good friend and God bless you and also keep an eye out for those UFOs in the skies or Waters, over and out.❤❤❤
One thing I like about this channel is that you make it quite clear that this voyaging life is not all harps and flowers. There is a lot of gritty, hard work involved, along with a lot of discomfort. And it comes with its share of risk and anxiety, just like shore life does.
"war is a wasteful thing" - I'm gonna use that line Vanuatu is such a lovely place, I can't wait to return there one day. Thanks for making these videos, it makes me feel like I'm back there again.
C'mon folks and give this crazy guy at least a thumbs up! 👍🏽 After all his efforts making and sharing videos, from remote places, on your favourite subject, he's worth a 👍🏽 don't ya think?
Barry's fine...he made it to Bundaberg, Australia, spent some months there, (personally I'm of the opinion he flew home for a visit) then last AIS contact had him sailing out of Cairns, Aus. about 46 days ago. Since then, he's turned off the AIS 🛶.
Island-hopping and exploring new horizons - it's the heart and soul of the sailing community. Thanks for sharing this part of your incredible journey. We are fairly new to this sailing lifestyle and can't wait to be exploring some of the places you have been to. Here's to more adventures ahead!
Barry, I've said it numerous times before, you are some man for one man, It wouldn't be an Old Sea Dog Adventure without some epic drama but here in my easy chair I'm not sure I'm up to much more... Just Stay Safe & Fair Winds!! ☘
Completely agree with this statement! I watched the next epiode first then came back to this one.... Vanuatu is such a lovely friendly place, we loved it when we were there. What a terrible waste to have all those vehicles tossed into the sea. Not able to be used by the locals, not to mention the environmental damage it would pose as well. Thanks so much for the honest but positive posts.... I have really enjoyed watching your posts.
Barry, Barry, Barry! What the hell!! You are an incredible editor the suspense filled videos of life on a solo sea. The real life adventures of the one and only "Old Sea Dog". Thanks for your endless adventures, Be safe and be happy!! when I am in a better state of affairs I will give a helping hand on the finances mate. Thanks for living my dreams. EZL . Presently a land lubber. Peace
Put a small fresh silica gel sachet from its air tight container inside the housing, if you can fit one in. This is what we used to do with the larger camera housings--put it in about half an hour before you take it under the waves. They are cheap and one buys about twenty of them for about twenty dollars,
Thanks Barry, a bit of a cliff hanger, always good to show what has been thoughtlessly dumped into the sea out there, thank you and trust you are safe.
If you scroll through the comments people are saying that he is way behind when he uploads these vids . They're saying he's been in Australia for quite some time now and he's doing well and that he was also on some other channels but they didn't say the names of them
Barry you & your boat looked so cool sailing in the colors of the sunset. I wonder what you went threw next. A storm? Boat trouble? Stay safe on your passage we are all wishing you the best.❤
My uncle, Sgt. Bill Smith of the Rhode Island National Guard's 43rd Artillery Battalion, was on the President Coolidge when it sank. He said that was the scariest part of the war for him because he didn't know how to swim. He was a great guy.
Great vid this week. I was in Vanuatu in 1975/6 on the SS Arcadia. We dived on the Coolidge and took all the fuel out of her onto the the Ark which had the same engines. This was because of the fear of an earthquake which could damage the Coolidge and pollute the sea. P&O bought the fuel at a bargain price. Good to see that they now have an exhibition of the Coolidge. Good luck Barry
Late on parade in reading your vlog. Now I’m tucked away in a care home and after several months of slow recovery I now have a 4 wheeled trolley and I manage to walk about half a mile to a lake and back. So I always keep abreast of TOSD’s vlogs. Just keep up your travels and keep us all informed. As we head into winter - it seems that summer is still with us here in UK -very strange weather indeed! Brightens my day and thanks a lot
Sounds like you are experiencing what we used to call in the Northeast part of America Indian Summer ... when the weather is unusually warm or even hot during autumn ... a lot of those times have been very magical especially if the leaves are starting to turn color . I'm not sure I understand what you mean by trolley... are you saying a wheelchair ? Hope that whatever is going on with your health that you will continue to get better and better I'd enjoy your strolls near the lake
It makes my day when I see another episode pop up! One of the greatest adventures and to share with us is pure gold, good times and bad. Stay safe our friend.
I have read about that Million Dollar Point a few times. Thank you for showing it. The point was mostly done out of spite because we were not about to give the French a bunch of our equipment for free and they were just waiting for us to leave so they could seize it.
wow Barry that history is priceless ! How many people can give that people knowledge. You are a vessel of that just like i am mate in my life in music and you sharing it is a gift. love you mate all the best. xxx
Great colours as you sail west into the sunset! Was it red sky at night, shepherd’s delight, or was it (as you hinted) a precursor of something more challenging?….
You truly are an Old Sea Dog! ( I mean that in the kindest way) Watching you sail White Shadow around the seas is inspiring as well as worrying sometimes, as you need an upgrade on some of the equipment you are using if not another vessel. Perhaps a crowd fund is inevitable? Watching you from the comfort of home in London and having just visited the Southampton Boat Show yesterday it amazes me you do so much with limited resources. Some of the big boat manufacturers should sponsor you as you do so much for the yachting community by bringing in new people to the delights and sometimes reality of sea life. Obviously you left us hanging with this episode and I wish you well and safe passage to Australia.
bang on it, never leave a floppy anchor
Sound of Freedom, heart wrenching but wellworth watching.

This is a real cliff hanger Barry. Great episode!

Can't wait till the next episode to find out how your foreboding words materialized.
Guam has a huge WWII dump site just off of Orote point back alongside a cliff. Did a lot of diving there while living in Guam.
Ti seguo dall'inizio. Forza, avanti tutta e vento in poppa
Barry! Terrific episode and great dramatic foreshadowing. Well done!

Tip of the Day --- Scuba Divers must always fall backwards into the water. If they fall forward, they will land in the boat.
As always Barry, outstanding editing and camera work. That sunset was breathtaking ✨💫🫡. Fair winds my friend.
Nice, a cliff hanger. I love it! See you in two (weeks).

Love your vids from New Brunswick Canada right on the coast of The Bay Of Fundy shores from Blacks Harbor Welcome here any time.

I'm assuming he had a life jacket on ? Still no doubt that had to be scary especially if there were sharks about
@@gardensofthegods if you don’t know how to swim, life jacket or not, you’re going to be afraid when your ship sinks.
Amazing video. Several years now with these tempting stuff. 👍🏼👍🏼
Wonderful episode as usual, thanks.
Very cool

Pretty cool ; that was wonderful of them to think about the ocean environment and to remove the gas tank .
Talk about leaving me on the edge of my seat! Now I’m worried. Hoping for a decent outcome.
Looking forward to the next video... which means you'll be safe somewhere. 🌴😎
Be careful old man!!!!!
Enjoy old boy.....sail safely
The cameraman always survives :)
Ah yes, the old 'cliffhanger' technique! Will be biting ones' nails until the next episode!!

Hi Barry! I know that dive site well. Just for the record, it's known as 'Million Dollar Point' not Millionaires Point. Fair winds and safe travels!!
