This is one of those rare albums where every song hits. It's widely regarded as their best output, coincidentally being their last album. When Cannons Fade if you do another!
yes!! When Cannon Fade goes so hard 🔥
Another vote for When Cannons Fade! Have absolutely loved Bolt Thrower ever since For Victory but for me Those Once Loyal is their best album, they definitely went out on a high!
got my vote!!
I'm honestly going to listen to this album tomorrow as I own Realm of chaos but I just don't like it and end up not wanting to listen to Bolt Thrower as a band. But now that I hear these songs maybe I just heard the wrong album
Anti Tank(Dead Armor) is another banger!
Bolt Thrower is one of the most highly respected deathmetal bands of all time. Solid discography. Heavy grooves from start to finish. This is my favorite album by them. They were a band of the people. Always delivered the goods. Always.
Genuinely one of the two, maybe three death metal bands that you can wear their shirt to any show. Everyone who listens to heavy music knows they're goated.
HUGE props to Jo Bench...she was their bassist and has always had amazing tone and a great ability to play in the pocket.
She also wrote a lot of their best riffs, most notably the main riff of IVth Crusade
@@joeyuzwa891 is she doing the background vocals?
She is indeed a badass
One of the best metal bass tones! Probably my fav next to Terry Butler on SFU’s first album.
I mean she just playing root notes aint nothing special about it
I can still remember when Radio 1 DJ, John Peel (RIP) covered a lunchtime show where they'd usually play pop music. He played his usual eclectic mix of music, someone expecting to hear the likes of Spice Girls phoned up to complain, and he put on a Bolt Thrower song, dedicating it to them 😂
Good ol john
I don't know how the hell you can dislike Bolt Thrower. They just rip all the time. So, so dope.
I mean, I can totally understand why. I just can’t relate at all lmfao, Bolt Thrower make me want to run through walls
I always love seeing Bolt Thrower getting more attention.
Off this same album, check out Anti Tank (Dead Armour) for THEE sickest bass tone ever recorded and of course more nasty grooves.
Couldn’t agree more, I can’t get enough of that one
Try vagrant stomp by orange goblin, another sick bass tone
Dead Armor is the SHIT
absolutely THIS.
The whole album is playlist. Every song is a banger!
wtf does that sentence mean
Love me some Bolt Thrower. The way they create tension with use of rhythm always gets me. Death metal with a tight pocket. It's fucking awesome.
Bolt Thrower is my favorite band, this album grooves like crazy. For Victory is my favorite from them, it just has so many of their best riffs packed into one album. They have always been masters of the death metal riff.
For victory is the best.
Great reaction. Bolt Thrower came from the hardcore punk scene of late 80's England, which Influences their song structures and lyrics. They deff aren't the most technical but that's not really the point, one of death metals best for sure, chiming in for "For Victory" next by them just because it's a classic.
For fuckin Victory!!! \m/
✌ FOR VICTORY ✌
"A Symbol of Eight" is a fantastic one. That opening riff is just incredible.
They are the best at finding those little grooves that really work, playing the shit out them, but doing it with so much musical polish you can never get sick of it. Every song on For Victory is gold in that way.
Love Bolt Thrower and this album particularly. Everything has a nasty groove and palatable even for people who don’t listen to death metal. I think you would like When Cannons Fade🤘
Bolt Thrower! \m/ Glad you dig their style. They’re not the most diverse band out there, but they’re super consistently good. Riffs for days. Last Stand of Humanity is my favorite from this album and Icon or For Victory is my favorite overall!
For victory is a perfect album
Bolt-Throwers discography is about as close as a flawless discography you can get. Sure, Mercenary and the one after weren't fantastic but still.
@@wildmanfisher Mercenary is pretty good still tbh, HVP is definitely the weakest though kinda proto TOL, but doesn't hit the TOL peaks
@@k0bra3eak40 I gotta give Mercenary a fair shake. I bought it when it came out and it disappointed me because I adore For Victory and any album that followed that one up was bound to disappoint a bit
To those once loyal!!! 🤘
There is no shelter!
Old school riff monsters. Loved Bolt Thrower since 1990. Just straight forward hard groove.
Every single song of that album will make you headbang! Is undeniably excellent from top to bottom.
When Cannons Fade is a banger!!!! Definitely my favorite of the entire album🤘🏼
When Cannons Fade is the real masterpiece on this great album! 💪
I subscribed at around 24000 and you two doing this band was worth every moment of being a subscriber over the years. WOO ! ! ! ! Im so sad Bolt Thrower is disbanded. Miss Jo Bench bass.
Love that you gents appreciate Bolt Thrower. One of my favorites and a bit of an acquired taste. Well done guys!
The whole album is a masterpiece, when cannons fade is my favourite song.
This is awesome. New band for me!
Check out anti tank by them... Thank me later 😊
You’re gonna Fall in love bro. Check out “the IV crusade”
Just a slight warning - they did found their style/sound in the third album. The first two are great, but more straight forward death metal. I'd suggest you check the from Warmaster onward, but the next one, called "The IV-th Crusade", is top tear.
Can't go wrong with any Bolt Thrower album mate, so consistent
Check For Victory album
Metal is a weird genre, since there aren't "hits" everyone likes their own songs. For me, "For Victory" is the ultimate Bolt Thrower song and it's not even close, yet no one else ever mentions it.
Love that song!
That's because the introduction to IVth Crusade is absolute perfection;)
For Victory was the first Bolt Thrower song I ever heard and is tied with No Guts No Glory for my favorite song!
Also here to root for this song. A classic and my go to track to suggest if anyone asks about british death metal.
The monster riff that comes back in after the vocal part ~1:30 or so. ✌FOR VICTORY ✌
You could do every song on this album and probably really enjoy it. I think GRANITE WALL would fit your tastes particularly well.
I remember I started watching y’all’s channel when y’all first started and to see y’all cover one of my favorite bands of all time is AMAZING. Bolt Thrower is one of those few bands where every song hits. They stick to a formula, and make the sickest riffs to make that formula work. Cheers to you guys!!
No matter what different genres of music you have in your collection, if you own even one Bolt Thrower album, you are 100% METAL.
"When Cannons Fade" is a great one. It's right in your face, along with the awesome "Figure Of Eight"
The groove, man, the groove, they kill it every time, love them for that...! Glad you like em...
Bolt Thrower is just fantastic riffage all around. I love them. Nothing more to say!
Can't wait when you're return to Crowbar guys! The Lasting dose, Existence is punishment, Through The Ashes, No Quarter. Those are just sick tracks, with those nasty slow riffs, it's a shame that you checked only one track by them!
Damn don't think i have heard Bolt Thrower in close to 30 years.. This was far better than i recalled it...
Bolt Thrower are the "classic Rock" of Death Metal😜🤘
WorldEater!!!⚡️⚡️
Bolt Thrower kicks ass, one of the few bands who did things their way. Never compromised their sound or style for commercial success or music industry bs.
Nothing but love and respect for this band. Would love for them to do one last tour so i can see them one more time.
If you haven't allready do Anti - Tank (Dead Armour) or Rebirth of Humanity or Where next to conquer.
Bolt Thrower ff-ing rules....Heavier than the impact of an atomic bomb....
This band has great riffs!
Bolt Thrower is part of the old skool death metal elite. I suggest the reaction of their very badass song "This Time It's War" (1992). The entire discography of the band is excellent!
Bolt Thrower are the Kings imo. So heavy, but also so groovy that i think their rhythms are almost danceable!
Kings and queen*
@@radicalstanza3614 absolutely, my bad!lol
@@alexperry4691 no worries! Just gotta make sure Jo gets her flowers.
@@radicalstanza3614 Exactly mate, Bolt Thrower wouldn't have been the same without her!
You should check out the band Memoriam, the new band with Bolt Thrower's vocalist. All band members are death metal OGs. Check out their song "Undefefeated". The definition of chugga-chugga riffing ;)
Now its time to do War master with Bolt Thrower
Omg you boys had a second helping of Boltthrower. That is awesome. It took them. While to become legendary status and several newer bands are heavily influenced by thier style. Good job
Your next song by Bolt Thrower should be "When cannons Fade" Same album.
Love you doing these guys again. My favourite death metal band. Album after album of heavy, catchy riffs. Love how groovy and rhythmic they are.
Ah Bolt Thrower, still the grooviest Death Metal known to mankind 🤘
Flawless discography 🙌
After The Burial - "Nothing Gold" and "Death Keeps Us From Living", from the two song "Embrace The Infinity" EP. Thank you!
first Bolt Thrower song I ever heard "Woooooooooooooorrrrld Eaaaattteeeerrrrr" off the Grindcrusher compilation
This album is honestly perfect. At First Light and When Cannons Fade are absolutes. Also Granite Wall.
Wasn't the biggest fan of Bolt Thrower but they never had a lack luster release. Wore the War Master long sleeve for quite a while in Vegas years ago.
The fact that you guys groove with Bolt Thrower warms my dark metal heart!
Just discovered Bolt Thrower recently, they're so damn good
I genuinely hope you enjoy this band. They're amazing. Bless you for diving into that song. Giddyup
Bolt Thrower is awesome thanks for doing this
To me the way that the vocals, drums, and bass are mixed relative to the guitars on this album is perfect ... speaking as a guitarist ;-) ... this album is my jam, I have a big Those Once Loyal chaos star tattoo on my forearm
Agreed. The production, engineering and mix make this album HIT
Just started watching this Chanel I love hip hop metal
Its really cool to see some down to earth people from different walks of life exploring bands like bolt thrower spreading positive vibes.
✌️
Anti-Tank is another banger from this album. And every other one. 🤘
Great review! Great song, keep up the good work Brothers, God Bless!
I FUCKING LOVE YOU GUYS. OH MY FUCKING GOD YES. IVE BEEN WAITING SO LONG BRO.
a great bolt thrower album is the 4th crusade! legendary..icon..4th crusade...it goes on that album is great
I agree with your take on them. They're my favourite metal band. There are many other bands that may demonstrate more technical skills and virtuousity, but I always felt like this band focused on keeping things simple, just focus on a catchy, satisfying aural experience, melodic earworms that you can hum along to :)
All time favourites!!! Flawless discography!!!
Love Bolt Thrower! ! saw them a long time a ago(93), in a club called Valvet in Gothenburg, Sweden. :)
This is one of your rare choices where I am just so stoked for you guys, because it’s exactly what you should be getting recommended based on what you guys have said you enjoy within the genre. Love to see the content.
And damn dude, just watch Nails - Unsilent Death already
BT's ability to lock into a sick heavy groove and then hypnotically grind it through your brain is next level.
Love Bolt Thrower, had a huge crush on Jo Bench back in the day
Ah, the Warhammer 40K 'house' band... Excellent choice.
My first time hearing this band was getting a free flexi-disc record free with White Dwarf (Games Workshop's monthly magazine).
Killer. Great seeing people who weren’t into Metal finally hear what we who have loved Metal for years hear. 🤘🤘
Fantastic show!!!!! 👊👊👊👊
The next Bolt Thrower song you should do a reaction video for, is Mercenary. That is a heavy one! The beginning riff is a ton of bricks heavy! George, Ryan, you guys are too cool for words! Respect!!! 👍👍👍👍👍
You guys would love “the IV crusade” by them, it’s a little heavier than this and has a bit more variation in the riffs
FOR VICTORY is my favorite Bolt Thrower song, you have to check that one out. Anti-Tank (Dead Armor) from this album is another classic
Those Once Loyal was the final release by Bolt Thrower before they disbanded, due to the death of their drummer. This album was considered as a return to form by many metal fans.
Request you guys to react to The Fourth Crusade by Bolt Thrower. I think that song cemented their status as death metal legends. Its a simpler song than Those Once Loyal, but it surely delivers the goods.
Bolt Thrower is the only band where every song sounds like what I imagine being next to the Schwerer Gustav railway gun from WW2 must have sounded like
The message is the focus.
Bolt Thrower is all about the riffs sometimes they'll have more nasty riffs In one song than some bands will have on their entire album, lol.
Considering how much you enjoyed this (and so do I, it has such a pleasant flow to it and certain feeling of calm professionalism) you should really check out some/more Celtic Frost, especially songs from "Monotheist" which was their short-lived come back album. "Progeny", "Obscured", "Ain Elohim", "A Dying God Coming into Human Flesh" or "Ground" might be interesting. Or older, classic material like "The Usurper", "Jewel Throne" or "Procreation (of the Wicked)". OR Tom Warrior's band after CF, Triptykon and something like "Aurorae".
I second this. Monotheist CRUSHES
Lost in Vegas uploads a death metal reaction, I like. Easy peasy!
I was just listening to this album this morning
Y'all know what's after Bolthrower in the metal dictionary?
BYZANTINE
I am discovering Bolt Thrower through you guys...dig what I am hearing.
Check out the second album Realm of Chaos, especially the song World Eater. One of the greatest riffs ever.
@@gvehar Will do brother, thanks!
Granite Wall is a track from this album that would check all the boxes for you guys.
you have to do "when cannons fade", absolute banger
Wow, great to see you guys checking out Bolt Thrower, they're awesome!
I would love to see you guys cover U2 bullet the blue sky live in paris... such a powerful performance and a powerful message.
Jeff vinson from Indiana... love you guys. God bless.
"Embers" would be the best place to go to with them next IMO
this is good, first time hearing this band.this is the sauce
Amazing we should witness you two liking death metal. :D Bolt Thrower is great!
You know when yall wanted the song to keep going...last song on this album "When Cannons Fade..." has that vibe, yall check that one out next!
Old school UK Death Metal 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
The vocals are integrated more into the music rather than the music being a vehicle for a singer.
Great to see you doing more of these guys.
Oh yeah, Bolt Thrower. I loved their album covers - but then, I was into WH40K at the time :D
I would love to see you two react to Gorguts. Anything off their From Wisdon to Hate album, like Behave Through Mythos, or Forgotten Arrows off of Colored Sands would be awesome
Oof. it's been ages since I clicked a reaction video and saw a song I actually really like. I havent watched the video yet but I can't imagine anyone disliking this song. It's got such a groove to it even grandma wants to headbang.
All of their albums are start-to-finish offerings. Every song is quintessential Bolt Thrower and they almost flow on from each other like the chapters in a book. Best heard all together in order. Granite Wall & Last stand of Humanity probably two tracks I’d like to see get the attention they’re due off this album. Saw them live in Brisbane ‘93 when touring the IV Crusade. Insanely heavy, and a huge sound. Such a shame we’ll never see them or hear new material ever again 😢
Warmaster for me. I
Think with that album is where BT found their sound that carried over till their last album. To me, BT is the AC DC of death metal. Yes, nothing complex and repetitive but they own their sound. No one sounds like BT but many try to imitate their sound and style. I was lucky enough to see them for the first time during the Warmaster tour in Ontario, CA. One of the most savage, bloody and brutal shows I’ve ever seen. Long live Bolt Thrower!!!
Bolt thrower, a death metal band with " snap your fingers" riffs.
Goddamn i love me some Bolt Thrower!
Love Bolt Thrower
I love this song!!!!!
