I was looking forward to trying the redesigned Pathfinder and I wasn't disappointed. Much improved over the last Pathfinder I rented. It would be great to try a higher trim level, like the SL or Platinum, though.

With the exception of the transmission, I agree! Much better!

I prefer the previous generation Pathfinder, though, With the CVT!

@@joshuagalka3526 The 9-speed seemed to work well enough; I think my bigger issue with the previous generation was that it just seemed "old" and lacking in personality. The new one looks good and the tech has caught up.

I'm impressed with the new Pathfinder... no more cheap, dated interior, an ACTUAL automatic transmission (FINALLY!), and more standard equipment on ALL models. I like that new chime, too... kind of reminds me of the 'Fasten Seatbelt' chime on an airplane. I would go for at least the SL trim, to get things such as leather seats and a Bose sound system.

It's definitely much better equipped, even in the SV trim. I was surprised a power lift gate isn't standard on the SV trim (it is available as part of an option package that includes captain's chairs and a pano roof).

@@rtm808I'm surprised EAN (Enterprise Alamo National) doesn't go for that package, either... it seems they go for the upgraded packages more than the other companies... for example, the Volvo XC90 T6 Momentum we had as a rental last year has the upgraded "T6" engine, and all of the packages available (the ONLY feature it was missing was the upgraded sound system, but the standard sound system was still pretty good).

@@jeepguy95 With the supply shortages, EAN probably doesn't have very much leverage in ordering specific trims or packages. I can understand why they avoid options, though. Those options or higher trims don't really allow them to charge more for the rental and, if you're buying thousands of vehicles at a time, a $1,000 option package can be millions of dollars of extra cost.
