How in the name of god did you manage to do this? Surely you must have played it for months non stop. I've just started again after twenty years since I last played it, I didn't actually own it (disgraceful I know) for the Saturn, so I still feel like I'm playing major catch up. That said, I've at least managed to get A grades overall on three of the levels after one day's proper play (you're probably laughing at what I call an achievement!). I haven't even attempted Stick Canyon yet, or done this level more than once (only got a C first time around). I'm country miles away from where you are here. I'm content to just keep trying to beat my scores again and again, and listen to the wonderful musical score... That's my excuse anyway.
Whenever you hit the bouncy walls in the buildings, you can spin the control stick (or D-pad for better results), and every successful spin will add points, the bonus increasing with each spin. Landing upright on the surface will let you continue the combo and get to ludicrous numbers like shown here. It kinda works on the HD port, but the changes in D-pad control makes it much harder to get anything capable of netting a good score. You're better off just doing normal Links in that version.
@@yetravellingsonc8372 yeah i just spent a couple of hours trying to be able to do that in the HD version on Steam, and it just straight up wasn't happening; then i came back here and noticed you said it didn't really work on the HD port lol. wish i would've read that part the first time haha
@@lololordjr Oh thank you, I didn’t even think to check that. Reading the description now, it seems to be saying that -despite not getting the 2x point bonus from destroying the capture- it’s more efficient to get as many spins as possible in, so it’s worth it to just do them as soon as possible and destroy the capture later, collecting blue chips along the way.
I love how the developers never expected a score that high, hence the million digit missing from the final score screen.
its still broken in the HD remake lol
That was awesome...I must train harder but I doubt I'll ever catch up
Thanks! With enough spins in mares 2 & 4 you should be able to catch up no problem :)
@@ElectricStriker777 if only I had a 3d control pad instead of the regular Saturn controller it could work
You know NiGHTS supports native 16:9? You can enable it in the options menu, seems like something that might come in handy for dedicated players.

I like how after you do enough of those flips the score in the corner just does not stop increasing for a long time.
How do you do the spins in mare 2 and 4?

@@yetravellingsonc8372 I had no idea that was a thing. How did you discover that? o.o
@@niconicoseri Comically enough, this video. Tested it out myself sometime after seeing it, on both the HD port and on an emulator.

How do you do the flips when you're bouncing?
Saturn Dpad
this is amazing! i am wondering though: any reason why the spins in mare 2 and 4 were done before destroying the ideya capture and not after?
To offset the timer according to the description
