  • We're now in the heart of winter - prefect time to break 1.2 million on Frozen Bell. Really fun dream and boss fight to master. On mare 1 I was doing an air brake dash, which I find easier than normal air brakes because it prevents NiGHTS from flying off course to do tricks. The paraloops come out a bit slower, but it's overall more consistent.

I always loved playing as Elliot or Claire in stages as long as I can cuz their play map is not linear and actually 3D.

    WOW!
Highest score I've ever seen! Congratulations!
I also score-attack this game but am not super good with the stunt ribbon. My high score is ~1,155,000.
    Can usually hit:
    Mare 1: 115,000
Mare 2: all over the place / ribbon
    Mare 3: 122,000
Mare 4: 62,000 is my highest

Thanks! Those mare scores are very impressive btw, especially 3 & 4. You must be really good with giant paraloops in the snowball section!
On the stunt ribbons I find there is always a way to score higher with them, since the dreamies tend to come out at variable speeds. If I had to guess, I'd say 360k is close to ideal with mare 2.
Combine that with your kind of scores on the other mares, & 1.3 million is totally possible here :)

    What's air braking

Pressing both trigger buttons at the same time

Also, every (and I mean, every) time I use the trick loop 'cheat' with the shoulder buttons, I can NEVER get it to do what you do here. He'll do about eight or nine at my absolute best, but other times he just jerks along the ceiling and no tricks are registered no matter how many times I hit the two buttons (and I'm not causing the air brake or anything like that). It just seems like utter luck whether any tricks get stringed together. Your 300k+ score seems to be a lifetime away. Like the person below, I'm awful at that course. I know it takes practice, but I've been stuck on scores in the 200,000's on each level (not course!) for the last probably fifty attempts at each.
A score of a million plus? Not a hope...

Incredible! Which controller are you using?

Thanks! I use an original Saturn 3D controller - perfect for the precise maneuvers in this game.

I agree, incredible, but I've done it exactly as you have in this video, and my link attack score seems to cut out way quicker than here. I've seen other vids where people seem to spin attack through the whole course collecting points, but when I try it, I'm way out of control and mess up, even with the 3d controller. What am I doing wrong? I can't explain just how frustrating it gets when you take a break from the game for literally about three or four days, and when you return it's like you've never played it before. I'm all over the place, and I managed to get all levels at overall A grade a week ago.
In fairness I guess, I only bought this game for the first time as a Saturn owner (since 1996) a month ago, so I suppose I should be fairly pleased with that.
But lordy, I worry about my future scores, especially if I have any further breaks! Any good tips please?

@@Nightopian1982 just relax, take your time, memorize your routes & have fun. Its all about reaching that Zen type feel of the game, everything will eventually fall into place & you'll be making less mistakes. Worked for me.
