Furthermore, as a bassist, music educator, as well as former assistant editor to "Bassics" magazine, and contributor to "Bass Player," I predict Henrik's playing on this song will become iconic in the pedagogy of the instrument. That is to say, on par with Victor Wooten's "The Sinister Minister, " Jaco's "Teen Town," Stanley Clarke's "School Days," Chris Squire's "The Fish," etc.

I´m struggling with my own idiotic feeling of patriotic pride while seeing this and reading what you just wrote. 😄
But honestly, I´m a Swede and veeery critical towards my country on so many levels. But when it comes to music I just surrounder. They are really good, my fellow Swedes. So many good artists and bands, and most of them with a true, deep passion and in one way or another a spiritual core. Like Dirty Loops - aren´t they worshipping life and companionship?

I don’t know. I love Henrik but he’s emulating shredding and that’s what he’s doing. Maybe in a niche sort of way? School days and Teen Town are more cohesive and rounded. That’s the best way I can describe it, I’m sure someone else could elaborate. It’s still amazing though but I think some people would be turned off by all the effects required. Again, I’m not bashing, it’s just my opinion. I think the bar has also been raised since it’s so easy to get music out to the world. So many amazing musicians

I think the idea of considering Henrick as a great along with those mentioned is that he has demonstrated his ability over the years.....yes this video is amazing, and his playing should be commended, but without the tracks where he just lays a beat and jams out, he is another Internet poser.....this guy is the real deal and does everything taht is required of the modern bassist!

Dirty Loops is awesome always doing their style and that is one reason why so many of us love these guys because they always bring it. These are all masters of their craft and instruments.

Yes they do blend many styles and make it their own! I'm loving your reaction! I felt the same way. We've all been waiting for them to come out with a new track and this one made my day! I'm a big rock fan and they way they blend grooves with rock is absolutely EPIC! Can't wait to see them on March 25th in NYC!

    You're very on point.
The soundscape in this one is masterful. Simon Petrén is a wizard just as much as these three guys.
    Thanks!

Simon is one of the best master mixers on the planet. Few are able to create such a well-defined, detailed and crisp soundscape like him. The sound quality on everything he does is just top-notch.

You nailed it: Dirty Loops are "genre-benders" and the song is a "sonic masterpiece" and "eargasm." The more you listen, the more complexities and subtleties you'll discover. I think the string and orchestral credits refer to the background music in the credits, not the song itself. Will have to do more careful listening with headphones.

Your reaction was very similar to my own. So much going on here in terms of pure song craft, Aron's drums were kind of Martial/anthemic, just brilliant. He edits the videos, writes some melodies and bass parts. These guys slay in the best sense of the term! Thanks for completely getting their musical point!

Great one Dave! No one's prepared for mischievous Henrik. As usual, too much to unpack in just one song. Nice fly check using the credits, smart kid! I enjoyed this reaction very much. I was looking forward to it since the song popped out, and I caught it the first day but I was too much into post eargasmic turmoil to comment. Now just good luck trying to get that hook off your head

The man that is playing the guitar is Carl Mörner Ringström, and he is incredibly good! He is from Sweden and an old friend of Dirty Loops. He has his own RUclips channel, and you should listen to his version of Dirty Loops "The way she walks"!

Last but not least, I think Dirty Loops is our generation's Beatles. I grew up listening to and adoring the Beatles. Ditto now with Dirty Loops.

Genrebender bands full of completely wild skilled technicals including an inhuman bassist.
I've been an uber fan of Bela Fleck & The Flecktones for 25 years. It is so wonderful to have discovered another band that does the same.
