    Just got mic. Tried it and it had a lot of static. Saw your video and it works great! Thank you!

    Thanks. I was met with the same disappointment. I’m about to try this now.

      Hi Mate, my microphone is now significantly better after I did this firmware upgrade. I bought it to minimise background wind noise and it certainly does that well now, however I do find the overall gain a bit low and very occasionally the overall recording drops sharply to zero audio (where there is actually no talking ) which has to me a “strange effect”. Perhaps I should contact Rode about this and maybe in the future Rode might release another new firmware version to address this issue too, but overall it certainly is useful in reducing background wind noise for my usage! Cheers Drew

    2/24/24 I got this mic about 2 months ago, and at first it worked fine (recorded an hour long live music set with my iPhone 7 video). However, after doing the latest iOS firmware update, 15.8.1, I started getting the distortion/static issue. I then did the Rode Reporter download and update to 2.2.1, but the problem still persists and makes my video's audio tracks unusable. Any help would be appreciated!!

      Hi There, I suggest upgrading to the latest IOS (17.3.1). Cheers Drew

      @@DrewFixIt Thanks for the idea, my Iphone 7 has 15.8.1 as the latest versions and says "iOS is up to date" with no options to further update.

    Hello I was wondering if you maybe have an answer as to why it is that after while of using these rode mics my phone doesn’t pic up signal after inserting the mic onto my phone?

    Everybody keeps suggesting this solution but for me when I open the app there’s no option to update firmware

    • @DrewFixIt
      @DrewFixIt  8 месяцев назад

      I suspect that this is because you already have the latest firmware version! Does it tell you what firmware version you have installed? Cheers Drew

      It doesn’t have any info on firmware at all. I only have “interface” and “quality” options👎 neither of which make any difference to the crackling issue

      @@SuperMisterKoryperhaps a dumb question but do you currently have the mic plugged into your phone? Cheers Drew

      I have it nearby. I only plugged it in once the app asked me to

      @@SuperMisterKoryok, so you need to plug it again to see the firmware version. Cheers Drew

    The configure option no longer exists in the app. So I’m left here with the static noise and no way to fix it.
