You guys seemed a little confused on why Spider was helping at the beginning/what the colonel promised him so I think you guys missed it, but it was essentially like "okay I won't ask you to betray Jake Sully, but come along with us for the ride or I'll send you back to the scientists to be tortured and imprisoned again" I believe the actor of Spider, Jack Champion, filmed for four years for Avatar 2 and 3. He was 12-14 filming performance capture, and then 14-16 filming the live action scenes I think.
Plus they're missing the part where he tried to get him killed by convincing him to tame the banshee traditionally. Don't get why so many people are confused by Spider....
An arm for a fin. And I also think that Spider saved his "Dad" from drowning because he didn't want to be like him & just leave him to die. He didn't want to be a bad person like Quaritch
Not sure if you missed it or just forgot, but Quaritch promised that if he helped them he wouldn’t be tortured anymore ( put back into that machine or imprisoned). He’s has no choice. He’s surrounded by scientists and military that want to hurt and torture him. Even though the recoms are also taller and stronger than him he knows that as long as he can help them adapt they won’t hurt him. He can’t leave or run away from this because his mask has a tracker, so he could definitely out run them, but it wouldn’t matter because they could easily find him and force him into compliance. He’s also defenseless. He has no weapons and these guys have guns. Honestly, while a tiny bit of me doesn’t like that Spider saved him, I get why he did. He was raised by the scientists, and pretty much spent his entire life with the Na’vi, we know he probably hardly spent any time at the base where he lived for so many years. I’m betting that place was just where he slept and ate. This kid had no parents and no family- well nothing stable, nothing like a real family like the Sully’s. Once you kind of understand that Spider has probably gone his entire life being told how evil his real dad was from those around him, then being kidnapped and basically forced to bond with the guy for months- not one day, not a week, months; it’s easy to see why he probably felt conflicted in the end. Especially since it’s clear that Quaritch does consider Spider his son and definitely wanted a relationship of some sort. While he’s close with the Sully kids, Jake and Neytiri never really took him in, never really gave him a reason to think he was a part of their family. Especially because of Neytiri’s hostil view towards him won’t allow for that to happen as she cannot compromise on it. I also want to say that even without coming to this conclusion, and even excluding the part about them being father and son, Quaritch did save his life. Twice actually, so it also makes sense that it wouldn’t sit right with him to leave the man who saved him to die. A debt being repaid. I do agree with you though that these actions could potentially jeopardize his relationship with the Sully’s when they find out. And they will. Stephen Lang is confirmed and planning to return for all 5 upcoming sequels. Avatar 3, where do we go from here you ask? Well, I can’t say too much on the plot, because it’s still very much uncertain but we do know a few things: 1. There is going to be the introduction of a new tribe, a volcanic tribe called the “Ash” People. 2. Quaritch, Spider, and Jake are all going to have an interesting and very compelling dynamic that will sort of blur the lines on the futures of each character and who is ultimately seen as right or wrong. Specifically this will relate to fatherhood, and Spider’s role as a son to each. 3. Kiri and her powers and special connections will be definitely explored in A3 4. Spider will have some amazing developments as a character and will become one of the most important and significant characters to the overall plot of the series. 5. It will be absolutely fantastic and well worth the two year wait. Let’s hope the 2025 release gives us many answers.
Hometree was the large one that the omaticaya lived in. The tree of souls/spirits was a very sacred tree to them and they destroyed one of the trees that they used to link to Eywa. But in the first movie they didn't make it to the larger spirit tree.
U guys shouldn't question and guess so much during dialogue. And no its about Eywa, she's apart of everything not Grace lol. Grace is with Eywa yes, since she joined Eywa before her death, hence why Kiri is able to see her & talk when connected to spirit tree. Kiri is definitely Pandoras version of jesus. The child of Grace & Eywa. & No its makes no sense that the NaVi people would use metal or attack the Tokunn creatures. It was clearly humans & their weapons. Remember Jakes family are NaVi. Not Avatars.
Pandora doesn't have a proper night, but what it does have is an eclipse because Pandora is not a planet but a moon of a much larger gas giant. Believe Cameron uses the visual of the daily eclipse for dramatic effect, but also because they traditionally symbolize "danger." They also filmed like over 90% of the third movie with this one, as well as a good chunk of the fourth film because they needed to film the kids before they age too much for the characters they play. The next one just got delayed one year to December 2025 since it's in post-production and it takes a couple years to actually make the movie after filming.
A minor redemption would be so cool. I don't see him fighting side by side with Navi, but maybe combating the needlessly malicious actions of the RDA after encouragement from Spider.
@@Inoffensive_name I picture Quaritch being saved by the Navi. But not the good Navi but the new bad Navi Cameron plans to introduce in the next movie.
I would really like to see him finally conecting with ewya, not being totally a "good guy" but noticing that all this time there were actually something going on with the planet that he as a human could not understand.
Spider is the oldest of all the children and I think he's supposed to be about sixteen by the end of the movie so it appears that Na'vi children age very much at the same rate as human children.
Whales today arent hunt because of oils or grease, but for their meat. Even though, it's not even as close as the 18th-19th century. Back then, whale oil and grease was used for candle making (street light), soap etc... Today whales arent as valuable or hunted and thus why their numbers have been allowed to recover. In Asia, Norway and Russia, whale meat however is still consumed but still not super common.
What's your opinion on this: An avatar movie with 0 conflit whatsoever, I like the action but the parts i liked the most from both movies was the world building and the character interactions! What do you think?
There are no solar panels on those ships. The large glowing thingies are radiators that dissipate the heat from the engines into vacuum through radiation. Solar panels are not of much use if you get too far from the sun and these ships spend the vast majority of their entire trip in the dark and cold interstellar space.
I think Spiders gonna flip sides to Quaritch and then Quaritch is gonna flip to the Na'vi BUT Spider is gonna stay with the Sky People because he has like an inner struggle because he will never be like Jake or Quaritch because he himself is human
They already said spider is gonna be the bridge between Jake and Quaritch. He’s not gonna be with the sky people it doesn’t make sense for him to be cos he sees hisself as navi
@DeeDee-eu8vj I'm not going to take hold of any information because so much can change between now and release. BUT, thats precisely why I was thinking the way I do, he sees himself as Na'vi, he tries hard to keep up and be na'vi, but he's also old enough to realize he's likely never gonna be fully navi, and I think that would be a good story point to center a part of the plot around
Actually in the comics, spider is very aware of how neytiri is…he is aware that she does not like him and she’s lashed out at him more than once.

I cant wait to see what Cameron does with Colonel Quaritch. There are so many places they could go with the character.
