Mack FR700 first start!

In this video I finally get 'Bob' the 1980 FR700 fired up. It's the first time the engine has been running in 10 or more years that I'm aware of. There were a few little road blocks along the way, but in the end it was successful.
The photo used in the thumbnail picture is of a 1980 FR700 owned by Bob Bagley. I'm not certain it is the same truck featured in the video, but it could be. The photo was sent to me by an anonymous user, I'm uncertain who took the original.

Where are you based Greg? They would’ve been good trucks. I reckon by 1980 they were a pretty decent truck. They needed a longer wheelbase though

It’s always fun starting something you’ve never seen run, very satisfying. Starting a project and finishing it 6 months later isn’t bad, finishing 10 to 15 years later is where I have been at sometimes. Weather looks beautiful, we could be having snow soon. Only thing missing for the first start was having a few mates with brown sandwiches in their hands standing around offering advice!👍

It started off life as a 237, but someone has added the coolpower box and can to it and made a 285 out of it.
