    Thank you so much for this! I have this exact model. I didn't know how to adjust anything, and was stuck with the settings the installer put in, since this video, I have changed the settings to suit our house, after 3 years living with this model, and having to manually boost all the time. Now I've set it to quiet mode in the evening and night, I can sleep in silence! I've looked everywhere on the internet for manuals, all useless, until this!

    Wasn't clear on the humidity bit.
    If the air in your home is quite dry and uncomfortable, what percentage should you put it to?

    • @richardmarlow4466
      @richardmarlow4466  7 месяцев назад

      Relative Humidity is relative to temperatue .
      Specific humidity of 7-8 grammes per Kilogramme of air which is pretty much 1 Cubic metre of Air, this is optimum.

    hi! great so see this, the manual does not mention these things that well.
    my very similar system from vent axia has been installed but i ve noticed that all percentages are equal for extract and supply. does that mean no balancing has been done by the company that installed it (i bought the flat finished and new)? can i fix these things myself ? its a simple one bedroom flat with 2 supply outlets and 3 (i guess, toilet bathroom and kitchen) extract points.
    furthermore, i ve noticed it sometimes goes into boost at night, presumable ddue to paramters, which is noisy for me. so via the way you explained i have decreased boost extract and supply to 50, normal to 30 and low airflow (timed for sleeping hours) to 15. is that allright?

    anyone knows this? 70% humidity seems higher than recommended, despite it being the default level. the machine can not be st lowre than 60% i noticed. while 40 to 60% is recommended according to some websites ( i am not an expert! might be wrong figures!).
    what do you think about this all? how to fix it ?

    • @richardmarlow4466
      @richardmarlow4466  3 года назад +1

      In the summertime, if the unit is able to be set at lower humidity like 50% it would run in perpetual boost and keep you awake all night, especially if the boost rate is set high. unfortunately, this particular model cant set profiles for one scenario and another. It's one setting for all seasons which is a shame. Wintertime you could set it to 60% RH and it would regulate that on normal mode and behave fine. we only have the outdoor air to reduce vapour pressure and the specific humidity. some systems have chillers so its possible to set lower RH levels. I agree,the Goldilocks zone to keep all things nice is between 50% and 60%.RH With this unit its best to set 70% for summertime if you want a good kip.

    Well explained and informative.
    though' Is it possible for you to "spell out" How to do if our house is at and constant 28% humidity.
    Its especially during evening/night where we can feel it - waking up with dry throats and dry skin. We just moved in and live in a very well insulated new house, so the machine is quite new to us.
    Thanks, Chris

    • @richardmarlow4466
      @richardmarlow4466  2 года назад +1

      it seems to that your unit is over ventilating and needs the flow rate reducing in the evening. call me on 07985174736 i should be able to talk you through the changes required on the module. internal humidity is always relative to atmospheric temperature/humidity and occupancy. You have little moisture creating activity at night therefore the RH humidity will drop

      @@FordChristmas drive.google.com/file/d/1b88JxmrkewbsUkoLOCjkF8BS3FSiYghc/view?usp=sharing check this out around 45% is considered the goldilocks zone and what we should be aiming for, between 30 and 60% is the target for optimum health benefits.

      have you initiated control mode 2 to manually select the low mode?

    • @richardmarlow4466
      @richardmarlow4466  2 года назад

      there is a balance between optimum air quality and acoustics that can mean setting the humidity setting higher as in the height of summer and hot sticky nights the init could run in boost throughout the night. choose a sensible humidity that gives you this balance. don't lower the flow rate in the daytime during summer, winter daytime possibly if low occupancy, you wouldn't want to forfeit optimum oxygen levels.

    • @bythelee

      Depending on installer, a bathroom would normally be set to extract (to pull out excessively humid air). So you shouldn't feel air coming from the bathroom ceiling vent, but leaving the room that way. Air fed into the other rooms (bedrooms, lounge, etc) should be flowing through the corridors and under the closed doors to get to the extraction point(s) (typically bathroom, kitchen, and hallways near external doors).

    • @richardmarlow4466
      @richardmarlow4466  3 года назад +1

      An MVHR isnt supposed to be turned off, if it does remain off for a period of time condensation will form in the ductwork wherever dew point is reached, what can happen then is mould spores will form and begin to propagate. then when you come to turn it back on these spores would be blown into the property and become airbourne. if you go on holiday or are sleeping, you could set the low mode to 25% fan speed and set as schedule. there is another control mode aswell check the manual regarding control mode 2 it allows manual selection of low mode.
      also if left off it will vent passivly to atmosphere which will produce no thermodynamic transfer and will result in massive heat loss.
      dont turn it off!

    How well do these things actually cool during the summer?

    • @richardmarlow4466
      @richardmarlow4466  5 лет назад +2

      Cooling is dependent on the buildings insulation, airtightness result and G value of glazing.
      Consider a thermos flask it keeps thinks cool as well as hot. Your house if well insulated will retain the free cooling that is brought into the house during the evening.
      Irradiance needs to be mitigated by installing low G value fenestration.
      Also air velocity dehumidifies to help with comfort.
      Thanks
