    Have this in my home for almost 3 years (Vent Axia Sentinel Kinetic Plus B). I never vacuum the filters- I just swap them out for new ones every 6 months at which time they are filthy. Also, there is another filter inside the unit called a 'cell'. I remove this every 24 months and clean it in the bathtub. Run mine at 20% airflow and it is totally silent.

    • @clivebyrne8943
      @clivebyrne8943 3 года назад +1

      Cheers, how do you get at the "Cell" to clean it?

    • @blurayffan66
      @blurayffan66 3 года назад +1

      @@clivebyrne8943 Turn off the unit at fusebox. Remove filters then remove all screws on front cover of unit then remove cover. The large internal cell filter should have a plastic strap grab that and slide the whole unit out.

      @@blurayffan66 thanks for that, much appreciated . Your first comment got me thinking so I went and had a good look. I removed the cell and had a good look around. All very simple but impressive in its simpleness. I had been having a lot of running nose and sneezing in the mornings so had to investigate the unit further. The cell (which was in upside down, when compared to the arrows on the unit) was dripping wet and the fan on one side was completely full with mould. Real nasty stuff. I had to remove the fan to get all the mould off and dry out the cell at the same time. This morning, no runny nose and no sneezing. Thanks for your initial comment which gave me the nudge in the right direction.

      @@clivebyrne8943 No probllem at all Clive. I am surprised the cell was wet and there was mould on one side. That should not be the case at all so I am thinking there may be a problem elsewhere or the unit/fan/system settings need to be adjusted. The first thing I would do is give everything a good clean out. The cell itself can been cleaned in a bathtub full of lukewarm water using a very mild soap. I used Milton washing up liquid (sensitive) which I bought at Tesco. Make sure the cell is completely dry before putiing it back in. Also the filters on the front of the unit should be changed every 6 months for new ones. You can buy inexpensive ones from fairair.eu if the mould/damp returns I would prob call a Vent-axia tech out to double check everything (how the system is set up in the user menu etc).

      @@blurayffan66 Hi, yes I have given everything a really good cleanout and put it back together. It really was very nasty. I have new filters arriving today from fairair.eu so hopefully that will get things working properly again. The Cell has arrows on it front and back showing the correct orientation and that was in upside down (Not sure the relevance but have corrected that now). Having done the deep clean I now am familiar with the whole unit so I will be keeping a good eye on it over the next few weeks. Thanks again, your assistance and was the impetus for me to go deeper into it and find the issue.

    Great informative video thanks! I had no idea what this unit does, we've never turned ours on, will be cleaning it and replacing filters asap. Does it help lower heating costs?

    • @surlookmedia
      @surlookmedia  3 года назад +1

      Good to hear. On heating costs.. Our understanding this unit is purely for the cleansing of your air; however AEI offer thermal heat pumps, solar panels, all that assist with efficient and economical heating. Suggest you head over to AEI.ie for their full range. Thanks again

      It blows freezing cold air from outside - inside. All heat is gone from my house. This is good product for BIG houses, offices but not houses. Extremely loud also. You sleep beside a hair dryer for the rest of your life. Not happy with this unit at all.

      Hi Michael, this happens sometimes on older units. Replacing the PCB with the display on it should fix this. If you know how to use a screwdriver, you can do it yourself but I suggest you contact your installer. Grtz (I service these units in Belgium)
