These Z3 and especially Z7 look sooo sick! Finally some promising Sterling contenders for a great price! I dig the pickup combination and positioning, I never understood why Music Man/Sterling turned away from the HH/S configuration. And I really like the tasteful design modifications compared to the original. Nice blend of Music Man and Lakland! Great to see some tasteful StingRay interpretations and not only variations of J and P.
My guess as to why they quit making the HH/S configuration is due to sales. Sterling I don't think made one, but EB did, and EBMM Stingrays are high dollar. So, if on a limited budget but wanted an EBMM Stingray you would choose the cheapest one. I may be wrong, but it is just a theory. Most of the time when it comes to electronics, the changes are due to cost.
@@sinakaedwards2009 I heard the output level differences between the humbucker and the single-coil were pretty big. But I think this is something they could have addressed. I preferred the H/S sound options, and that there was more room for slapping. I'm also playing a bass with MM/J configuration, but based on a J body shape. So the humbucker is a lot closer to the bridge compared to a StingRay. A Lakland is not very different there. That's why I like the Sire's approach so much, it should deliver a really convincing StingRay sound, and I'm sure the J pickup closer to the neck will sound awesome as well! The only thing I'd be missing is a J bridge pickup sound. Switching to Delano TheHybrid might be the solution. I have them in my bass, they're awesome!
The HH Sterlings give you single coils on each pickup and the 5 way switch makes changing tones extreamly easy and quick. The Z are nice basses but would be much better with a 5 way switch.
@@daviddesmond2143 Unfortunately you can't choose neck or bridge single-coil alone on the HH Sterling/StingRay, like you could on the HS version. But I agree with the Sire, I'm missing the option to split the humbucker there. But I'd prefer a split switch (maybe via push-pull) over a 5-way switch so I can still balance the pickups to my taste.
Wow, Sire is really kicking up the competition for beginning to advanced bass players!! You guys are fun😊 , but we all know that the radiant light of Thomman's, is Julia!
We need Julia. Wish she could've been there hanging with you guys for the video shoot. Maybe she can do some vids of the new ones coming out?!? Just an idea.
YES! More bass! You're doing more than what Andertons is doing, they haven't given any love to us bass players. All they're covering is guitars guitars guitars..........
Finally some bass love. Yes most pedals "could" be used on bass. But it's nice to see some actual instruments. Also seconding seeing some more bass stuff on the channel. Cheers and thank you!
Love the Stingray style basses but wish they went the extra step and had a switch to change the humbucker to a single coil so you almost get a jazz tone. I understand the normal Stingray doesn’t have that but it is a great added feature.
WOW!!!!! Sire is swinging for the fences AGAIN!!!!!!!! I'm still crazy about my 1st gen V7 5!!!!!!! It's even MORE AWESOME with Bartolini dual coil J bass pickups!!! I may have to grab one of the new 6-string basses!!! The StingRay variant is amazing!!!! I can see another Sire in my future to compliment my 1st gen V7 5!!!
Cort is a good product but nothing outstanding like Sire. Sire is very innovative to come out with 24 brand new basses for 2024 Where other brands just change paint colors and make the same stuff.
More bass!!! More Julia!! Been saying they need a stingray inspired bass for 2 yrs now! This is so exciting! And string through!?!? Take my money!! Please tell me the Z7 natural will be in a 5er too
You're more than welcome! Next time hopefully one of our amazing bass hosts can come too and give you an even better (and fuller) bass Namm coverage. 🙌 //Kris
I have a dingwall which is amazing bass but I would get a white one just for fun and another sound. I don't want to buy a Sterling or Harly Benton, but Sire are just solid basses I can trust
How come the Buckeye Burl version of F10 is not available anywhere though? Neither on Sire's official website nor on Thomann's website, they all have only Poplar Burl version listed on their websites
Just looked at the new lineup… why did they make the U7 full scale? They already have so many other full scale basses, why not keep the U series short scale for us fans of 30” scale basses? Disappointed. I really liked the U5’s tone and overall shape, but wanted it with a rosewood board as I’m learning what I do and don’t like on a bass and the maple board didn’t feel the best to me (long time guitar player, picked up bass again during the lockdowns.)
I wish they would have dropped a 32” scale length U series bass. Maybe they’re trying to grab ahold of the void left in the market as fender’s aerodyne series is still waiting for a revamp. I’d choose an aerodyne over the sire because Fender Japan is excellent, but it’s harder to track down a PJ aerodyne these days.
@lockedowng does it really matter? The only one who should be complaining is anyone who'd hurt by it. I'm sure Mr. Miller, Sire and Ernie Ball have worked out the particulars.
Sire is just a fantastic company that stays very innovative. This new Stingray type bass will probably destroy Sterlings and their Subs because with the 18volt pre amps there is no need for people to buy overpriced aftermarket pickups and pre amps. I am curious about weight. Great Work, Sire and I now like the headstock.
Omg. Musican man style sire basses but with 18 volt preamps and better colors❓. And the exotic single cutaway with 18 volts by sire ❓. Ive already got the sire v7 5 string. It changed my music career for the better..i still want an M7 5 string plus the music man stingray style sire plus the exotic single cutaway. That will be my go to brand basses. Wow 👺🔥
They look amazing Music Man trademark must have expired I guess? I assume Sire is the Behringer of guitars and basses? I'm not saying they're bad, but I guess copy cat is the marketing angle?
and thats why I bought a Rickenbacker 4003. I don't really care...anyone who buys a bass or makes them more affordable is good in my books...just personal preference
Around 1:10 .. what you said is inaccurate, that the single coil in the neck position is unusual for MM-style basses. Ernie Ball Music Man introduced the "HS" (one humbucker +one single coil) configuration in their products many years ago. This is in all ways a copy. A cool package, and a new offering for Sire, but nothing truly new about it. I'd still like to play one.
'I think we are getting really good at doing bass videos' ......Ummm,... maybe if somebody actually played one so we can hear what it sounds like,... That would be a step forward.
More bass coverage would be great! More Julia would also be great! 😊
two guitar players talking about basses lol
Wow Sire really upped their game wow!
2:53 WHAT ???? love at first sight !! OMG
The Sire P & J style basses were a great intro for the brand, those Music Man style basses are a really cool addition!

Yes, more bass please

Thomann please set up stores in the USA and bring Julia over, too. Thanks for this great report.
What you get with these basses at those prices is Phenomenal! Pay attention Fender
Like a bunch of kids in a candy store, beautiful basses, love some Julia
Z3 looks incredible
Decent ash may be getting harder to find, but it’s still basically firewood; there’s nothing magical about it.
Fender really dropped the ball with Marcus endorsement. It's clear to some of us what kind of basses we're looking for. How can Fender get this wrong?
i cannot justify getting a 2nd V7, but that natural reissue (in satin?!) looks sexy as hell!
I have to stay away from Sire's website. It's just too tempting. Future purchase on the horizon, though, seeing these new models.
Was hoping they'd make a 5 string U5/short scale bass.
Instead they just made a full-scale version of the U5 with the U7.
Holy moly they look good
Love the Stingray style basses but wish they went the extra step and had a switch to change the humbucker to a single coil so you almost get a jazz tone. I understand the normal Stingray doesn’t have that but it is a great added feature.

Thank you for taking the time to reply.😊
Great video and i gotta say that sire is putting out some great basses
Sire StingRay? Wow! Now, everthing is possible! 😁😁😁
Those are lovely and are triggering my GAS! I do hope that they bring out a Jaguar in the future.
Yes, especially an homage to the original one with the passive/active circuitry.
That 6 string looks awesome!
3:25 Cort has two single cut models at this price point or lower. One is even multiscale.
Cort is a good product but nothing outstanding like Sire. Sire is very innovative to come out with 24 brand new basses for 2024 Where other brands just change paint colors and make the same stuff.
Finally some Bass. Is this Thommas Guitars or Thomann Guitars & Basses... I will be sad if I dont see a video Marleaux's booth.
More bass!!! More Julia!! Been saying they need a stingray inspired bass for 2 yrs now! This is so exciting! And string through!?!? Take my money!! Please tell me the Z7 natural will be in a 5er too
Yes! Mo' bass in Yo' face coverage. 😁 Like that new 4 string ash model for certain! 😎🤘
Oh thank you guys for your videos on bass. Coooool 😊
Please again 😉
You're more than welcome! Next time hopefully one of our amazing bass hosts can come too and give you an even better (and fuller) bass Namm coverage. 🙌 //Kris
Thomann, I hope you will put the New Sire GB séries in your product list. This seems to be a Godin Killer !
All basses! All the time! All Julia!!!
Love the roasted maple on ash.
Bass,,bass,,bass,,,THANK YOU 🎸🤠
WOW SO COOL I WANT ONE NOW
We want more basses!
I was waiting for new Marcus Miller stuff❤. What are the characters of a stingray soundwise?
Sire...the new Emperor's Clothes of musical instruments...shaking my head
I have a dingwall which is amazing bass but I would get a white one just for fun and another sound. I don't want to buy a Sterling or Harly Benton, but Sire are just solid basses I can trust
although it was just meant as a joke, Julia would have at least played a note. Miss her!
How come the Buckeye Burl version of F10 is not available anywhere though? Neither on Sire's official website nor on Thomann's website, they all have only Poplar Burl version listed on their websites
Now musicman and sterling are starting get anxious
BASS! Love it!
Super cool basses!! 👏👏👏
The painted ones in the Z series are Mahogany, not alder.

2:53 is a true killer!
More bass, more Julia :D :D :D :D :D
Looks nice guys thanks x
Soooo, which one was the Marcus Miller model !?
2:55 - this reminds me of Tosin Abasi's custom guitars.
Holy cow. Haben die auch einen passiven stingray abklatsch oder kommt der noch?
I’m about to spend some cash in 2024! Yep!😊
I want one a Z type. I'd totally go for an F, but I just dont like poplar burl tops.
Nice lookin copies of MM Sterling and Fodera basses :D
What about the new semi-hollow basses from Sire?
They just come up with the best ideas! Where ever do they find the inspiration?
Where 97% of all the other companies do
@variantfaze9572 sure, tons of companies put stingray/mm humbuckers in instruments. How many copied the pickguard and metal control plate though?
@lockedowng does it really matter? The only one who should be complaining is anyone who'd hurt by it. I'm sure Mr. Miller, Sire and Ernie Ball have worked out the particulars.

What about the U7? I can't find any review or video...
Where's Julia
My head just exploded....!!!!!
More bass!
Nice kind of bass..
Habis ini bakalan ada video EBMM Stingray Special vs Sire Marcus Miller Z 🤔

Was there a new Sire GB5 acoustic bass at Namm?
Z5 with passive electronics please
could you let us know how z series handle neck dive? are they stable?

How's the weight on the stingray style?
Wow!anthony jackson model !

Skipped the V5 new 24-fret model behind you.

Not even the hint of another short scale 😭

We'll show you New Basses Only. Ok, here is the V7?! Lmfao.
They look amazing

Trademarks only apply to headstocks.
Thank you @@xp50player
Those videos are kinda useless if you can't hear any samples... :D
It's namm. Lots of noise. It's to see shiny colors.
Not much, you may know what to expect from the vendor
Are you interested??? Then go to your local shop and play one yourself. If not, your comment was kind of useless.
NAMM recording are never accurate nor flattering.
Totally.
