I remember waking up at 5am just to play this game. Then hearing this song, and feeling the cold, slow, comforting, but warm breeze on my back. damn I miss that.
Didn’t realise how much I loved this game until I loaded up this video for the first time, got to 0:34, and tears started welling up in my eyes. I hope they release another one, or more comics. The Mirror’s Edge universe and its characters are so compelling.
this part makes me cry every time no matter what, even the build up just before makes it stronger, when you know THAT note is coming. Goosebumps, always
Same here and I absolutely agree. It's nice to know, I'm not the only one who loves this game and its music so much and that there are other people who are still coming back to and enjoying it :)
I remember dreaming about to play new Mirror's Edge all the time, I really wanted to download it to an old computer and a laptop like every day. I knew that a pc was too old but i didn't stop. When I got a very powerful computer before New Year 2020(or after i don't remember), I played it for the first time and i had tears. I had so many desires to play it.I finally managed to play it after 4-5 years of daily dreams. (I really had dreams about this game. Dreams about how I play it and the fact that I am engaged in parkour on the lids of the game. I remember falling asleep near an old computer that had downloaded this game several times.)
i feel you homie, I played this on a trashtop back when it released and was completely absorbed in the game. This is the first thing I played when I got myself a nice computer, absolutely no regret. Since then I put another few hundred hours into the game just freeroaming, it's by far one of my favorite games.
I've also dreamed of playing this game. But finally in May 2020 my dream came true when I got an Xbox for my 17th birthday. I remember this joy to this day ;-)
I remember that my family used to play the Xbox 360 one, one day in an avi catalyst store for one, but we didn't have one, just in 2020 I was able to buy one, and I also cried when I managed to buy and play The physical game: ")
I'll never get tired of it. I remember when I was 11, begging my parents to buy me this game. I'm now 18 and I didn't know it yet, but it was going to change my life. the atmosphere, the soundtracks, the city, the characters, all these things made me feel good at times when things weren't going so well. I've played it over and over again, I'd say I'm on my 40th time, but it still gives me the same energy. So maybe you'll bump into me exploring the city, somewhere between Zephyr transit and Anchor? I'll be waiting for you
you completed the story? now you are here because you loved the music? you might as well cry while hearing this and remembering the best gameplay you had. SolarFileds is a magician, magical songs he produced
Okay hear me out, imagine living in a city just like this, not the k-sec or covert ops but just simply living. Like can you imagine the creativity you can achieve just from a sunrise with a view alike this? I don’t know about you but I would definitely kill to get into a mindset like the aesthetic of this game anytime.
Sorry, I'm writing through Google Translator. I totally agree. This sunrise is very beautiful. Such a soft light. Unreal atmosphere. So much positivity.
The atmosphere in this game is out of this world, such a beautiful game and I always love coming back to play this game once in awhile just because of the atmosphere lol
Bro istg, I still play the game to this day just because of this view. I literally have dreams of living in a city with such an ambiance and atmosphere just like this game
I sat on the highest floor of the library downtown listening to this song and looking at the city, and I felt like I was actually in the city of Glass :P
Mirrors Edge VR would be a masterpiece a form of art that nothing could surpass and to live in the city of glass makes me cry with joy watching ships go by Seeing the night light up with neon lights maybe even being a runner.
I always daydreamed living in a city like this. I imagine my introverted self forcing myself to come out of my shell and work hard to become HiCaste. I’d sneak in to lavish parties, try to get acquainted with HiCaste members who feel out of place who understand people like me (LoCaste), grow a small net of friends to help me get that life.
It's sad, I know many devs want to do right by gamers and want to create something beautiful based on what I've realised but that means that the corporations devs work for and their CEOs don't let you to do that and try to force to do their bidding why trying to steal your achievements if the game's good or throw the blame to you if the game's bad...I wish I had money to open up a gaming company and fund the devs to do what they were doing during the golden era of entertainment...create.
Today i gave my Origin account to a friend so that be could try this game. I was there with him, when he did the first mission, and when he came to this part i saw how amazed, fascinated he was, like i was the first time. I got goosebumps, and i shed a tear, remembering the first time I saw Glass in all its beauty, when i experienced this masterpiece of a Game. To all the Runners that are still exploring out there, and to the new ones watching these images and hearing this music for the first time, i hope you are experiencing the same unexplainable feeling i got to this day, whenever i think about the best game i have ever played.
Bought ME:C early in 2019 and it was such a beautiful experience. Now I've bought the origin 2008 Mirrors Edge in early 2022 and it's just so good- it's age does not mean its bad. I love both of these games so much, both have beautiful soundtracks
If this game was linear like the first they could have easily done better with the story a jammed more quality content in. If they wanted to make it open world, they should have made the streets available as well. That being said, the mastered the atmosphere of the city, with alot of respect for solar fields.
Exactly my thoughts too! If we ever get lucky enough to get another M.E they definitely need to go back to the first one's formula & simply just improve on what they did before. Forget the open world angle, too many games out there are dominating that side of things already. But my lord, the music & atmostphere is absolutely incredible!! on both M.E games & needs to be carried over onto the next game for sure.
Yeah open world sounded promising but the story line was way more satisfying even for exploring - I guess it being a niche game they didn’t have time or money to develop much beyond that - I mean just look at the “detail” of the roads and the cars on the ground lol
Faded this out manually instead of closing the tab immediately when I had to turn it off lol. It gives off the vibe that you have to do this to let the experience simmer.
After all the years went on, I decided to give both Mirrors Edge and Catalyst a shot after 2021. These games were just absolutely wild. I mean the scenery, soundtrack, and moments in the story really reach out to you as the player. Was a great way to escape the traditional FPS type game or whatever. Honestly hope they make another installment of Mirror’s Edge in the future since it was such a great experience.
This is my kind of game. The graphics where everything has COLOR and the atmosphere of the city is just perfect. So sad that many games don't take into consideration on color and mood into their maps.
This game brought me out of a deep dark hole in my life and I’d give anything to see a third game but even if there never will be just the two existing games alone will satisfy my nostalgia and love for such beautiful gameplay, art, design, and more.
The atmosphere and music in these games are just out of this world. I have not experienced anything like it in another videogame, and it hurts to think that we won't be getting anymore of these.
I was in awe when I saw this for the first time! Mirror's Edge Catalyst is massively underrated. People cite the original as being better, but I disagree. I remember looking at the distant skyline in the first game and wishing I could freely explore the city, and was disheartened that you couldn't! It felt like an on-rails experience, whereas Catalyst embodies the feeling of freedom with it's open world and progression system.
This view changed my idea of Mirror's Edge. The first one was blue and white, very clear and childish almost, still absolutely lovely. But when I saw this, man... with this music... this was something else. As if Mirror's Edge grew up. Progressed nostalgically, into something even more beautiful. I don't think any game will ever come close. Mirror's edge changed my life.
The second this opening scene played and that music starts, the game had me. It truly takes a lot to impress upon me as I get older. Games and more feel stale and not much really piques my interest. But this game... I have been playing video games for almost 30 years now through every era and despite this games negative reviews and all that, it remains one of my top 10 games of all time. I cannot put into words how much I adore this game.
Only because of such beautiful videos I finally played this wonderful game. I think such ambience should be a part of promotion campaigns for all the games. 😄 The design of Mirror's Edge Catalyst is mindblowing. Colors, lights and shadows, music, ambient sounds… So immersive!
If only Dice was allowed to do more single player games... Mirror's Edge 1 and 2 were f*cking amazing. I still can't point out enough flaws with these games that'd account for them vanishing off the spotlight. In fact whenever I replay these games, what I see is brilliance and potential for more of it. Whoever worked on these had a clear vision in mind, the artstyle, the MUSIC, the concept of the gameplay, the ambiance of the world, the WORLD itself and its lore... The way it alll ties in together in a perfectly directed experience... Like nah dude. These games were expertly made and it resonated with a lot of us who still can't get it out of our minds. Personally, every spring, when the sun starts to shine in a clear blue sky, and the temperature starts to rise just enough for the breeze to have that comforting feel to it? I immediately think of Mirror's Edge. It's like the Mirror's Edge season has arrived. ❤ So whenever I think about why Dice doesn't make another one, or, hell, why Dice doesn't make ANYTHING else other than Battlefronts and Battlefields, I think of EA's sh*ttiness. Can't change my mind that it isn't EA's f*cking fault that a talented studio like Dice is allocated to crank out multiplayer shooter after multiplayer shooter on constant tight schedules to compete with the Calls of Duties of this world. I guess I should feel thankful that we at least got Mirror's Edge 1 & Catalyst... But I can't help but also feel bitter that this awesome studio can't spread its creative wings. LOOK AT RESPAWN right now, dude. Killing it with Jedi Fallen Order and Jedi Survivor. You can't just keep cranking out shooter after shooter.... and they shouldn't, not when they had the creative minds that brought us a mesmerizing distinctive dystopia with the unique gameplay style that nobody else has been able to do quite so smoothly and perfectly as these games did. Or thematically. Dying Light 2 for example features free running but its still Dying Light... In Mirror's Edge the freerunning is itself a staple of who you are, a free woman, part of a network of non-conformers (runners/couriers as they were called) fighting & outrunning the system of this dystopia. Passing messages by hand, intercepting and stealing valuable information, infiltrating, etc. Like I said, fighting a corrupt system with the cards you were dealt. Avoiding fights as it would be the case realistically against a megacorp with infinite resources. And yet man, how beautiful a dystopia it is. Everything is clean and shiny, skyscrapers reflecting the clear blue skies and the post modern/near futuristic skylines. Drones buzzing around the sky, the ground levels bustling with people and cars going about their business, nothing but ants as you watch from on high. The sounds are so atmospheric. And coupled with the music they pass on a really good chill vibe, giving the city this aura of progress, stability and calm. While all the rot is hiding underneath and on the outskirts. It's straight up heartbreaking that this isn't as big as it should be. There's nothing like it. 💔
Also made me discover CHVRCHES Think of it this way: almost every game and movie which had their second third parts or remakes become more and more crap. I could go from old starwars to stracraft2, diablo immortal or whatever garbage comes out these days. The way I see it you should quit on top, also finish good games on top, don't try to overdo new parts and remakes into oblivion.
after graduating high school most games i played all had similar sci fi themes to it (ME Catalyst, Overwatch, Honkai Impact) around 2016~2017 ish. and now everytime i see things with elements of sci-fi futuristic themes with bright whites and bright colours it always reminded me of the much better and simpler 2017 times compared to 2021
Played this for the first time in my series S with 60 stable fps, it looks beautiful, it motivated me to build my dream Pc and playing it with the maximum graphics possible, I miss the old good days of mirror’s edge, I hope we get to see another mirrors edge soon❤
Missed opportunity for Dice IMO if they have not even considered a new game at this stage, the tech is there to create an amazing looking world for Mirror's Edge.
I bought this game a very long time ago, but when I played it, I was still too attached to the first one and was to overwhelmed about this new additions, so I didn't play more than one mission. Now, I guess it's been almost 3 or 4 years, I gave it another chance and I grew so much love towards this game it's hard to explain - I played the whole game in 2 or 3 days and even when I was not playing I was listening to the music. I can't explain my feelings or love for this atmosphere and feeling I get, and it's hard for the people around me to understand - but such music, such games, aesthetics (like this futuristic style) feels like someone build an alternative reality for me, where I can relax. I love the colors and the way this city is build, the glass and the white, it's perfection for me, and the music makes it even more perfect. I'm glad I gave this game another chance, I think it was just the wrong time and wrong place back then, but now I found it when I really needed it.
The art style, movement, and atmosphere are excellent IMO. It's a DICE game running on the Frostbite engine, so great graphics are basically there by default. But the story was meh. I feel like they left it open for a sequel and wanted to do more, but I don't know if that's ever going to come. I hope it does.
This game changed my life. I don’t even compare it to other games, it has its own class. Only for mirrors edge. Maybe you recognize the feeling when a game takes over even when you were done gaming you are happy that a game still has the magic of wonder. I had that with this game. After the end of the game i felt catharsis, not only ingame but also irl.
I discovered this in my first semester of college last year. I had these on repeat, this one in particular. Lovely music that helped me study and kept me calm when things got stressful. The visuals are nice, too.
1 year from now I will looking at my hands Remembering the pain I’m going through today To manifest the best version of myself I had a vision as crazy as that may sound. I listen to this song while meditating I had and felt a clear vision of myself on a roof top . As of now feel depressed and low as dirt. I hope y’all find a way to make your dreams come true

Thank you so much for mixing the ambient and puzzle themes of Mirror's Edge series! I've always been a fond of the more atmospheric music made by Solar Fields for the first and second game, and I've never resonated so immersively with the world of Mirror's Edge before I came across your playlist. I'm very happy that you're providing another way to experience the fantasy of being in the world of this game through your ambience mixes. Listening to this track helps me destress from my worries. It reminds me how big the world really is, and that there's more to it than being behind the screens of my devices if i were to step out and see the world for what it really is with my own eyes, and how my surroundings come to life from seeing the lives people live within it from a vantage point. Solar Fields did such a great work to capture that feeling in their music, and I couldn't thank you enough for your contribution to make it easier for me to listen to their work. 😊♥ Thank you!
Those videos makes me want to buy this game, the first game is an absolute masterpiece. I haven't bought this one yet because I haven't heard good stuff about it, but you know what? I don't care, the music alone makes it worth it.
This game is an absolute masterpiece. Combining the concept with an open world was, for once, the right decision. It fits perfectly. It was a shame that it was a financial failure and EA let the brand die. I'm currently playing it again for the fourth time. The atmosphere combined with the great synchronization of the characters gives me goosebumps every time. Come on home Faith
While listening to this, makes me wanna pick up the original and the prequel again just to get a view of the city; I wonder if they're gonna make a new one in vr one day.
Yeah but in the game the story part is short, doesn't progress, you just destroy a few buildings and that's all that changes, and you can,t even visit the streets, they should just remake the old Mirror's edge with today's graphics
I can't agree with that statement. I think they've equally spent time on visual and audio design. Have you seen the exclusive game design presentation? It's truly revolutionary for the gaming industry. A pity it's so underrated, but the claps of the audience and everything talked about and shown there was incredible.
To this day Mirror's Edge Catalyst is the only game that has such a clean and beautiful design, and there isn't another game in the gaming industry that has achieved this yet. I have the feeling the Frostbite engine suits best only for Mirror's Edge, and if EA for some reason decides to invest into further development of the series and their engine, I think that the best way to go would be Mirror's Edge.
It is interesting how everyone remembers the game as being so enjoyable, yet no one seems to be playing it now. It's as if the game has ceased to exist. Some people seem to only care about graphics and will disregard a game if it doesn't meet their standards, even if it was previously enjoyed by many. It is a shame that this game is no longer as popular as it once was, but I will continue to play it in 2023.
I wish they had taken the structure of the original story and stuck with that on this game. Everything about Catalyst was really good, the soundtrack was great, the world was cool, the mechanics were much more focused, the story was just all over the place and convoluted. The original story was meh, but structurally it was at least sound.

So whenever I think about why Dice doesn't make another one, or, hell, why Dice doesn't make ANYTHING else other than Battlefronts and Battlefields, I think of EA's sh*ttiness.
The way I see it you should quit on top, also finish good games on top, don't try to overdo new parts and remakes into oblivion.
after graduating high school most games i played all had similar sci fi themes to it (ME Catalyst, Overwatch, Honkai Impact) around 2016~2017 ish. and now everytime i see things with elements of sci-fi futuristic themes with bright whites and bright colours it always reminded me of the much better and simpler 2017 times compared to 2021
It's back! This video was gone for a while. Thanks :)
Damn, i need to play this game again. Meh gameplay, but excellent walking (running) simulator.
I was disappointed when I first played the game. But despite its flaws, I keep coming back to it.
I love the gameplay. The only places where the game fails for me is with the story and the collectables. Everything else was well done.
The game, the atmosphere and the whole soundtrack are gems (also the first edition). Need to go back and see Icarus at the lair 🏗🚧🚄🌇🌃🏃♀️
The art style, movement, and atmosphere are excellent IMO. It's a DICE game running on the Frostbite engine, so great graphics are basically there by default. But the story was meh. I feel like they left it open for a sequel and wanted to do more, but I don't know if that's ever going to come. I hope it does.
algorithm Hoping for some more too 😂
THE VIDEO GOT ADDED BACK THIS WAS MY FAVORITE!!!!!!!
When I need to focus on my work, I'm always coming back to this playlist
Thank you so much
This game changed my life.
The moment I saw the title and this song playing I knew this was going to be a good game
Thanks, best ambience ever!!! Please don't delete this video 🙏
1 year from now I will looking at my hands
Remembering the pain I’m going through today
To manifest the best version of myself
I had a vision as crazy as that may sound.
I listen to this song while meditating I had and felt a clear vision of myself on a roof top .
As of now feel depressed and low as dirt.
I hope y’all find a way to make your dreams come true
Thanks! I screen shotted your comment so I can keep remember about it
@@elysiumlx thank you 🙏 i hope these help manifest a heaven out the hell it is in our power to transmute energy
I appreciate this comment man hope you’re doing well.
bro, how are you now? It's 1 year already according to youtube
@@9en1us my brother thank you for checking on me, im doing a better, recently ive my baby boy was born on 4/30/23 !!!
Physically still have much work, i dont have a physical job, but a desk job so on my breaks i stretch alot and squeeze push up and squats haha.
How are you doing !
I love MEC's music, it's just so relaxing and, as someone who played and completed both games, gives me nostalgic feelings looking back at these games
As well you should like it, Magnus has stated it took him two years of work to write the 5 hours of music for Catalyst
everytime I want to focus on work, I come to this video, thanks mate!
Thank you!
can't get over the art of this game
unrivaled atmoshpere
Those videos makes me want to buy this game, the first game is an absolute masterpiece. I haven't bought this one yet because I haven't heard good stuff about it, but you know what? I don't care, the music alone makes it worth it.
Bro, this is incredible game. I recommend you to play in Catalyst ;)
Did you buy it?
This is truly special, thanks for the video.
DICE should make another Mirror's Edge game
Please
Just... Please
Wait another 8 years xD
@@joaquinvigara1356 😂
Going to be very hard they'll have to convince EA first. But I hope they do it.
oh my god, I really hope they can continue the story, it's a piece of art both musically and architectural design-wise.
Man idek you posted this one but this and like the rest of mirrors edge is my favourite soundtrack like i cant choose
Faith? Faith, are you enjoying the view faith?
Come on home - Noah
This is some relaxing ambience.
I would like to see this from my balcony...
Ты не даун
пхпххп
So relaxing! I love this place.
2021 and it still only has four dislikes. They just don't understand the feeling
Come on home Faith
i've never felt that kind of nostalgia before.. mirror's edge hits so different, finished the game 4 times but now you made me wanna play it again
@@kyoshi__1063 Nice !
Every time I play this I always said will this be our future I said yes hell yes
Gosh it's sooo beautiful ❤️ thank you for your job !!
This song literally carried me through college. Study with this song, I guaranteed you'll get a bunch of A's!
I played mirror's edge few times at my friend's house. I have to say I like the soundtracks a way more then the game itself 😎
I don't mind living here. How much for a 1-bedroom apt?
Thank you so much for adding this back, I love this vid! ❣
While listening to this, makes me wanna pick up the original and the prequel again just to get a view of the city; I wonder if they're gonna make a new one in vr one day.
2008-2016 memories rip Mirror's edge.
When you spend most of the budget on audiovisual design
They also wrote an impressive backstory. Must have been planning a sequel
Yeah but in the game the story part is short, doesn't progress, you just destroy a few buildings and that's all that changes, and you can,t even visit the streets, they should just remake the old Mirror's edge with today's graphics
@@Mart-E12 yeah...
0:34 - 1:06 during a sunrise across the Atlantic= godamn breathtaking.
simply wonderful
I promise on my life I will get and play this game..
Столько воспоминаний с этим треком связано💖
Здравствуй, Бегущий!
большой брат и маленький брат следят. за вами
ооооо да ностальгия хлынула
So soothing!
Jesus, I would give everything in my life to get up every day, go out onto the balcony and see this ...
Gonna listen to this the whole day tomorrow
Incredible Game & City, I want to live here in the future 😁😊
That's the version I was looking for!
So relaxing
Simplesmente incrível, como eu amo o universo desse jogo, tudo que eu queria era um Mirror's Edge 3.
Thank god it's back!
I want to live in like city of glass. but there are no any cities just like this
Too bad we were born that early
прилетай к нам в москоу)
Would you happen to turn those scenes into wallpaper engine wallpapers at any point? Those scenes are amazing!
Dice knows how to pick a creator for music
soothing perfection ^-^
I would love to live in this kind of futuristic city.
Say what you want about the boring story in ME2, the atmosphere and artstyle were amazing
The story wasn’t boring but just alright
But imma be honest the first games story wasn’t amazing either
Which video contains this music please
Solarfields- catalyst . Thanks
Because the replay value is zero. Even less than the first game, which is a better game
I wish they had taken the structure of the original story and stuck with that on this game. Everything about Catalyst was really good, the soundtrack was great, the world was cool, the mechanics were much more focused, the story was just all over the place and convoluted. The original story was meh, but structurally it was at least sound.
I love this game man
this game is better than Cyberpunk
Man that city is beautiful. You ever thought that wat if something like this exists on a different planet that we don’t know about 🤔
like heaven to my ears
I love it. The game is great!
I agree with you! It's an excellent game 👍
sad we never got an dlc with city expansion or new story
