    If I was Arnold Schwarzenegger, I'd prank phone call people with my famous one-liners... just to baffle them as they'd be trying to understand whether or not they were listening to an old recording or not.

    The rules need to change to allow Arnold and other immigrants from the last 50 or so years to run for president. Arnold truly loves this country b/c of the opportunities it gave him, unlike the majority of politicians (mostly R's imo) in office now.

    that thing that you would have to register as a "Democrat" or "Republican" is ludicrous..!! I am not a citizen of US, but if i register as a Democrat but when i reach the booth , can i still change my mind and vote for Republican?

    • @xoooxthanks6957
      @xoooxthanks6957 7 лет назад +6

      Startup Division yes. The registration is to give you the right to vote in close primaries of your party.

    • @SidV101
      @SidV101 7 лет назад

      Startup Division and to clarify what a primary is, the final election is typically between a democrat and a republican, but before that election there's a "primary" where each party votes on who gets to represent the party in the final election

    • @SidV101
      @SidV101 7 лет назад

      Only democrats get to vote on the democratic representative, and vice versa

    • @liquidminds
      @liquidminds 7 лет назад

      Because it's a semi-political process. The Primaries aren't actually real elections. The parties just give their own members a right to cast a vote, before they decide on who to support as a party. After the primaries are over, the real election begins.
      It's as much a "voting process" as voting for the parent that is supposed to represent the other parents at your kids school. Sure, it's an election, but it has nothing to do with government or actual Elections.

    • @xoooxthanks6957
      @xoooxthanks6957 7 лет назад

      still open and semi-open primaries exist in some states... I rather those.

    So wait in the U.S. you have your politicians create your electoral districts? How is that not a conflict of interest? In Canada we have an independent body Elections Canada that creates new districts based on the population. It also takes input from the public where people feel their communities borders should be.

    So I will say this...I valeted cars at a few of Arnold's favorite restaurants in Downtown Sacramento all through his governorship. He was such a nice dude. He'd stop and chat with me at the valet booth. And Maria Schriver was even nicer! I like where he is at now, politically. Gerrymandering and the Electoral College need to end!

  • @rr3901
    @rr3901 7 лет назад

    Agreed! It’s not fair. I moved to NC 2 years ago & I was astounded at how the citizens in this state allowed gerrymandering to happen. It’s really sad. How can a state that’s 50/50 have mostly all Republican senators and congressman. They should’ve never had the power to make these changes themselves. Also, I’m very disappointed with the dems who represent gerrymandered districts. How could you let this happen?? The only reason that I see is because they don’t give a darn about their constituents and only care about staying in office...smdh

      Arnold was one of the first people to endorse Obama when he was running for president in 2008 and again in 2012 despite him being a Republican (although a pretty middle of the road one). The two know each other well and that's probably why he just used his name.
