Cylapse None, really. To quote RUclips user "Shadiversity", Excalibur is to swords what Superman is to comic-book superheroes. Excalibur really is the sword that set the standard for what fantasy/mythical/legendary swords are supposed to be and represent.

Thank you for namechecking Durandal. I was really hoping it would get a mention. It's influenced French culture, to the point where they've named one of their most dangerous bombs after it: a specialized munition made to destroy hardened surfaces like runways and then litter them with mines, one that other countries also use.
The cool thing about excalabur is that it has the power and skill of every person that used it and give the user great skill and power
I wasnt expecting real swords from history (legends aside), so this was a very cool list.

-Caladbolg ("hard cleft") the great sword of Fergus mac Róich. A two-handed sword that made a circle like an arc of rainbow when swung, and to have the power to slice the tops off hills and slaughter an entire army.
-Fragarach ("the answerer") Sword of Manannán mac Lir, the Irish sea god, able to make anyone who has the blade to his neck answer a question with hesitation. Manannan passed this to his foster son, Lugh, Irish sun god, who in turn passed it to his son, Cúchulainn.
-Tyrfing, the horrid, cursed sword featured in the Tyrfing Cycle, which includes a poem from the Poetic Edda called Hervararkviða, and the Hervarar saga.
-Gan Jiang and Mo Ye, twin chinese swords named after the swordsmith couple who crafted them.
Another fun fact about the Attila sword it was thought to be the sword of mars the roman god of war

Of course Excalibur would be #1. It so famous WatchMojo could do a couple video on the various versions of the sword in Pop Culture, like it being a powerful weapon in Final Fanasty or how in the Dresden Files book series it's an Holy Sword containing one of the nails used in The Crucifixion and being powerful enough to kill demons and dragons.
Yes. 😌WatchMojo could’ve mentioned Esperacchius, Amoracchius, and Fidelacchius. The swords of hope, love, and faith. Each one having a nail from The Crucifixion in the hilt.

The four great swords of post-Roman European mythology are Excalibur, Joyeuse, Durandal and Cortana.
Just as Joyeuse was once used to crown kings and queens of France, Cortana (or Curtana) is currently used to crown the kings and queens of the United Kingdom.

I have two suggestions for top ten lists.
1. Top ten most requested Death Battle match-ups.

Every time I think of Excalibur I think of the Soul Eater version of it

Excalibur the welsh mythical sword from the Mabinogion is surely guaranteed to be first!? The welsh word for Excalibur is “Caledfwlch”, the lake in which the lady gives Arthur the sword isn’t too far from my home. Just a few miles away in the awesomely named “Y Mynyddoedd Duon” or “The Dark Mountains”.
I’d think Durandal would be number one as the sword of Roland, a knight of Charlemagne. It’s said that in its golden hilt contains a tooth of Saint Peter, blood of Basil of Caesarea, hair of Saint Denis, and a piece of the raiment of Mary

This was cool. But, I think I’m more impressed with the narrators ability to pronounce all those names of both the swords and the names of the people behind the name. A couple of them were tongue twisters!

A correction here --> Zulfiqar is legendary and out of this world brought down by Angel Gabriel himself... There is no other swords in this worlds that can be compared with this one...

Yeah, I'm glad they got that part right. That's a common mistake that even the writers of the animated movie "Quest for Camelot" made.
It's Clarent Mordred's sword. I learned it from fate that caliburn and excalibur were different.
i always preferred the version that it is one sword. because the sword being pulled from the stone is more epic than it being given by some weird lady in a lake. i like how they did it in the movie Excalibur from 1981. there the titular sword is both given by the Lady and is pulled from the stone

Same. Claiomh Solais, Nuada Airgetlam's Sword of Light deserves recognition considering Excalibur is likely based off it's legend as well as being Ireland's four great treasures. Also worth mentioning are Caladbolg and Fragarach.
