I feel like a weapon that might also have deserved to be mentioned would be the blade Durendal/Durandal. Said to be the sword of Hector of Troy before its most famous wielder, the paladin Roland, its blade was said to be as durable and sacred as the swords Excalibur, Joyeuse (Charlemagne's sword) and Curtana the Short. The blade was held to be indestructible, with folklore stating that in his final hours after the ambush at Roncevaux/Roncesvalles, Roland attempted to destroy the blade over stone. Instead, he cut a pass through the area so wide that it has come to be named after him, while the blade remained as pristine as ever. Determined not to let the blade fall into enemy hands, Roland then threw Durandal into a nearby river that had been poisoned recently, and immediately afterward expired.

Although Excalibur itself is powerful enough to make on this list, being a sword that was unbeatable, Aurther's true best armourment as his scabbard. It was an item that, as long as he had it, would make him immortal. Theoretically, it is a "weapon" that could replace Excalibur as the #1 spot.

From the sources i've read, Zulfiqar is just the sharpest sword there is. That's it. It is said to cut through rocks with only a single swing. BUT there is nothing mystical in it. And Ali Ibn Abi Thalib was the strongest man there was. In the war at Khaybar fortress, it is said that amidst the war Ali lost his shield and he instead ripped a big metal door in the fortress and used it as a shield until the war was over. The door was so heavy that even 8 men was unable to lift it. Hence the talismanic inscription in ottoman "There's no hero like Ali, There's no sword like Zulfiqar".
But would it gouge a hole into the earth? No fucking way. It's just the sharpest sword wielded by the strongest man. No more, no less.

Well if you are considering Sun Wukong's staff. Then you should consider Blades of Ethena (from God of War) as well.

There's also *Claiomh Solais* (Nuada Airgetlam's Sword of Light and precursor to Excalibur), the *Spear of Lugh* , which had fire on the tip and call be called back when thrown, *the Dagda's Club* , which could kill and bring people back from the dead, *Fragarach* (the sword of Manannan mac Lir, the Irish sea god), and *Caladbolg* (another precursor to Excalibur).

I am surprised that you never included Thor's hammer, the mighty Mjolner from the Norse mythology. The hammer grants strength, it can create and control the fierce lightening, create tornadoes, control the winds and the rain and only one who is worthy can wield it. Then again it is kind of a predictable choice for this list as most people know what it is thanks to the Mighty Thor comics and to the excellent Marvel Cinematic Universe movies (Thor 1 and 2, and both Avengers films - so far). Still an excellent and well researched list as well as an interesting choice of topic. Thanks 👍☺

It killed him, and was then picked up by Sue the man with a really strange name for a man and not quite as mighty as Tim, or Sue for short. He poked his enemies with the mighty stick which really annoyed them, they often be heard crying "ow, stop it, ok that is getting really annoying".

Okay, so if you read the older stories that are Arthurian, you'll see that Excalibur was not made how you described. It was made before Uther's death so that Arthur could eventually pull it out of the anvil in a church yard. The way you described was actually just the way it was done in BBC's Merlin. In the original stories, Gwen was actually the daughter or a lord or king, not a blacksmith like in Merlin. If you read these stories, you'll see that Merlin (the TV show) is different in so many ways

A little disappointed you didn't expand on three things about the Excalibur.
First, the Excalibur his pulls from the stone is not the same sword he gets from the lady of the lake. The sword he pulls from the stone is often called "Caliburn" to differentiate the two.
Second, the Excalibur Arthur gets from the lady of the lake was the one that allowed the wielder to cut any material, it be magical or not, like a hot knife through butter.
Third, the *scabbard* of the second Excalibur made it basically impossible for the wielder to die, as they'd be unable to lose a single drop of blood while they possessed the scabbard, even if they were cut open.
With that said, outside of Arthur's Excalibur/Caliburn and Carnwennan, he also had a spear named Rhongomynyad, which would kill nine men each time it's thrown by its original thrower.

Odin stabbed the sword into the tree and the only one who could pull it out was Sigmund (Sigurd's father). Though the sword was destroyed in battle, the pieces were reforged by Regin and was given to Sigurd. The sword could not only cut an anvil in half, but was used to slay the dragon Fafnir

The green dragon crescent blade is a famous blade, but not mythical or magical by any meanings. It was known from its user, Guan Yu, who was a great warrior and general. Although he ascended to a deity after death, the blade itself was known as just a mortal weapon.
The Ruyi Jingu Bang is never said to be used by anyone other than Sun Wukong. Rather than being used to flatten the Milky Way, it is said to be forged from a type of godly iron found under it. It has another name, The Godly Needle Which Settle Sea. Although there's no known limit to how large it can grow, it is not likely for it to be large enough to fill the universe

kumodki gada was so powerful that wen used it could engulf any weapon normal or magical inside it.., making it a part of itself and it emitted electric sparks in a desired radius........so no weapon or army could stand against the bearer....but sudarshana chakra was much more powerful than kumodiki as it had the power of galaxy itself....and it could destroy any weapon .... it is represented also as the supreme lord vishnu holding galaxy on the tip of his finger.....

now i believe Ao-Kuang (Dragon King of East Sea) actually went against Sun Wukong when Sun wants to take the Ruyi Jingu Bang because the rod was sort of "cordoning" or "protecting" the East Sea from natural disasters like tsunami. So after Sun took the rod, the Dragon King declared war on Sun and leading Sun rebelled against the "heaven court"
