I remembered making these in grade school and high school and was trying to remember all of the steps involved with the cardboard half moon disk, but while looking for that video I came across yours, and I have to say, this looks so much easier and quicker to make ! Very cute results. I'll try your way instead, Thanks for sharing your instructional video !! Job well done !

I really enjoyed your tutorial! I’ve made hundreds of pom-poms this way, I have a tip from my grandma that saves so much time!!! I cut out two circles (identical sizes) usually I use a mason jar as a guide because I love a bigger pom-pom. The larger the circles you cut out the larger the pom-pom will be! I put a hole through the center of one of the cardboard discs that the tail of my pom-pom goes through. Hold the tail and flatten the pom-pom on top of the disc and then place the other disc on top, like a pom-pom sandwich and trim the edges! Fluff and then repeat the process sandwiching the opposite side of the tail!!

Hi there.. nice video but you know.. if you just did the fork method you wouldn't have so much cutting to do at the end... That took you a long time to keep cutting down to the size you want. If you do the fork method... it's fast and easy and very little trimming. If you were going to do large pom poms.... I could understand doing it that long... but you did a great thorough job of explaining and no music is always a plus lol. Have a Blessed Day.

If one is using thinner thread, say embroidery thread, I'm assuming that you must double or even triple the number of wraps?
I can never trim my poms even.. they always looks lopsided EDITED TO ADD: My poms came out perfect!! They actually trimmed super even. Thank you for this tutorial!!

Thank you for sharing a very easy way to make pom poms, but not sure how to tie them of.
It was hard the first time for me, too. However, now that I've returned to the video to do it again, it has worked well just following the instructions. Probably a good idea to test how strong your yarn is beforehand, then you can pull it tightly. I finally added another knot using a darning needle, just to be on the safe side.

I created two mini pompoms but with each I still can see the yarn that is tying them all together. One was 25 wraps as suggested and the other was 50. Is it because of the DK weight of the yarn? The yarn is Adriafil/Knitcol I'm planning to attach a pompom, once I'm satisfied, to a new born baby cap.
