Para el numero 6 tenemos este dicho: "There's many a slip between the cup and the lip." Numero 1: "We'll just have to make do." Para el 2, tal vez "He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth." Para el 3, tenemos la historia de la "Little Red Hen" en que la gallina hace todo el trabajo y al final come el pan sin compartirlo porque nadie la queria ayudar antes. Es un poco diferente, menos generoso, no? El 4, similar a "The buck stops here," pero este tiene que ver con las responsabilidades, no las ventajas. Would you do some videos for listening comprehension where the two of you speak about something just in Spanish speaking slowly enough that a beginner can understand? Perhaps you could have discussions of a likely situations someone traveling to Mexico might encounter and one of you could be the " English speaking traveler" and the other "the Native Spanish speaker" I would love to be able to go to a channel and listen for a half hour or an hour at a time to a conversation that I can understand without subtitles - as they can be a distraction and in real life there won't be subtitles. Pablo Roman of "Dreaming Spanish" speaks six languages and has found that the more you can listen and understand the target language being spoken by natives, the quicker you will pick up the language. He says before doing anything else, beginners and intermediates should spend time exclusively listening to the language spoken in a way they can understand - even before trying to speak , read or write.... and that it is far and away the most natural and fastest way to acquire a language. By doing so, it will facilitate the speaking, reading, writing etc which can come later on. (I think he is right as I spent 6 years taking Spanish through advanced level in high school and college and all I could do after that was read, and write but was still unable to understand much or say anything I hadn't memorized. Needless to say, there was a minimum amount of listening practice other than hearing the teacher speak in class). He says by not trying to speak too soon, you'll avoid making and repeating unnecessary mistakes That learners make before they are really ready to speak and you will build a more solid foundation of the language much more quickly than learning grammar or memorizing vocabulary as taught the traditional way.
