  • In the watch world there are some watches that are staples. From the likes of the Seiko SKX, Alpinist, Captain Willard, and Marine Master 300, to the Tissot PRX, and up to the Tudor Black Bay, Omega Seamaster 300, Speedmaster, and Rolex Submariner, GMT Master II, and Daytona. But there are many gems in the watch world that are off the beaten path. The Ollech & Wajs P-104, that I discovered over 3 years ago, is one of them.
    The first time I saw the watch, the bracelet and the fantastically unique dial immediately caught my attention. But I held off purchasing it to make sure my interest wasn’t simply a temporary infatuation. But four months later, I kept thinking about it, and I decided to take a chance.
    Fast forward three years, and I still own it, so clearly it’s a good watch! But like any other watch it is not perfect. So in this video I’m going to get into the dimensions, and my 3 loves and 1 hate or dislike about this watch which will include how it wears and how the dial and bracelet make this watch an absolute joy to wear but also where the bracelet has some issues.

    Good looking piece! I own the Ollech & Was P-101 and your review reminded me to get it out and start wearing it more.

    Very unique watch and visually very compelling.

      Agreed! It's so nice to see a watch that's just so unique looking. I love a classic vintagey diver but sometimes it feels like there are too many!

    The second lug holes were made due to the long lug design. If the L2L were 45-47, I would have bought it several years ago.

    This is a stunning watch. In a time when everyone sports a Black Bay, this O&W offers that quirkiness that I love in a watch. It is now on my want list. 😊

    That big crown makes me feel happy. Nothing worse than a tiny little crown that is hard to get a grip on. I think it’s a great looking watch with a unique hand set. I enjoy your channel. Good reviews, great photography, and you don’t take yourself too seriously.

      Yessss a good solid crown is super underrated it's irritating when my fingers get tired while winding a watch up just bc I can't get a good grip! So happy to hear you're enjoying the videos and the channel, it means a lot to me!

    I have this watch since 2 years heavy use and still as a new one. It´s the most prefer on my collection and I use a lot. Rare, ToolWatch and hourkeeper, I love P104, is a different watch

    I recently purchased the P-101 and upon delivery I noticed the indice at the six was crooked and the date was off centered. The company I purchased the watch from advised the issue is with Ollech & Wajs. I emailed Ollech & Wajs about the issue and no response. Two weeks later I emailed them again, no response. I love the watch but I returned it. I want to purchase another one, but it scares me that if the watch breaks down the road, Ollech & Wajs will not be of help.

      Hey 👋
      Your comment turns me down as I am about to buy my first automatic watch and was thinking about OW. did you have an answer from OW ?
      You should have premium service when purchasing such a watch.
      Thanks for your answer

    A very very cool looking watch for sure I like pretty much all the watches that OW makes the light blue ocean graph is my other favorite. Although the price and value of this P-104 is much better compared to those of the ocean graph

    • @thewatchidiot
      @thewatchidiot  8 месяцев назад

      Yeah the C-1000 is what drew me to the brand and the Ocean Graph is one that I would love to own as well. And yeah the price of the C-1000 and the Ocean Graph is quite high considering the same high level of execution of the P-104 for way less

    Two sets of holes in the lugs as a genius idea. I wish more companies would do that.

    Thanks for the measurements but I recommend to put the most important ones on one slide then the rest on the next. This will also help to easily find what viewers typically want to now. Remember all of that text is difficult to read on a phone.

    They have balls of steel selling a watch at that price with that awful, grotesque looking clasp. Gross.

    • @EricMiller
      @EricMiller 8 месяцев назад +1

      It is rather inexpensive quite frankly.

    • @RabbitWatchShop
      @RabbitWatchShop 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@EricMiller Mr. Frankly, I wouldn’t label $1k + “inexpensive.” And I own watches costing more. I’d expect to see a clasp like that on a $50 watch, not on a watch of this price.

      @thewatchidiot  8 месяцев назад +1

      Loool they could have done a lot better with the clasp construction but I'm not sure that I'd call it grotesque looking! I like the clean simple look of it

      I agree, I’m pretty sure I’ve seen it said that the owner isn’t interested in changing the clasp, saying something along the lines off nobody cares about the clasp. Personally I think the watch is awesome but I won’t buy a bracelet with out on the fly adjustment. I bet it would look awesome on a nato.
