- Matt DV at it again! Come along with me as I travel down to Baltimore Maryland and seek out some delicious Crab Cakes. I'm hearing the Baltimore area has some of the best Crab Cakes in the USA. OK cool, let me be the judge of that.
In this episode, we're going to investigate whether or not the Baltimore Maryland Area has the best crab cakes in the USA.
You may be wondering why we're focusing on crab cakes specifically. Well, according to many Baltimore Maryland Area residents, these little cakes are simply the best. Whether you're a seafood lover or not, I recommend you check out this episode and decide for yourself!

That looks so delicious !! What I like best is the portion control. Some restaurants can give out way too big portions. Portions I have to finish at home later. That is a good guilt free portion without overfeeding the customer. Also each part if the meal is cooked to perfection. Great video ❤

That crab cake looked sooooo delicious. I'm an Old Bay kinda gyal, but I'm always open to different ways of seasoning this "delicacy" just as long as it doesn't overpower that crab flavor.

Lived in brooklyn park and used to go here all the time, back when these cakes were like 40 bucks for the doubles. Then covid hit and they like doubled so couldnt afford them. But hands down the best crab cakes ive ever had.

I get the double plater. The cakes are great! Ive had great time wth the stafff. The only negative would be the sides.At least the ones I had. They could take it to the next level with an epic offering of sides!

KoKo’s on Harford Rd is by far #1 next is Jimmy’Famous in Dundalk is #2 ( The Crabs, RibEye and Pasta are also crazy good)
#3 is Costas inn ( great crabs too)
#4 is Cptn James Landing in Canton
#5 is Luna Del Sea on Pratt St
G&M is possibly #8 or 9

I remember when "Church suppers" were a regular thing in Baltimore years ago a lot of the time they served both crab cakes and ham.. the crabcakes were all lump meat with just enough egg to hold them together and cooked in butter and the ham was tasty ... kinda wild to think about getting such good food at a fundraisers, heathans would even go.

Education time : in Maryland you don’t say that your de-shelling crabs, or peeling (they’re not onions); or Shucking (that’s Oysters); okay Matt. You say , PICKING” crabs in Maryland…. 😂
* You also got the Wrong 2 sides with the G&M crab cake! Marylanders usually get Coleslaw, French Fries , or mayonnaisey” type Macaroni or Potato Salad… The asparagus are for Old healthy (elderly)- seafood Eaters. No one gets mashed potatoes with Crab Cakes Matt.
In Maryland they do not use female Crabs for crab cakes, and most seafood places in Maryland consider it a bad Carma, to use females! They protect females so the water population of crabs continues to mate and be sustainable, There is no Roe (eggs) in your cakes, but there is yellow colored crab fat (slang term for- crab fat) in your Cakes! Male crabs have crab fat only, females have yellow crab fat and orange Roe inside…. I was born and raised in Baltimore. I have caught crabs, steamed crabs, baked crabs, trapped crabs, caught crabs on a boat, and have eaten crabs about nine different ways since 1970. My grandparents used to own a house on the water and catch their own crabs, and we would steam about 4- dozen every time we went to their house just for fun eating. My grandparents had a floating live wooden box to capture and keep alive their crabs until eating them!!
We use old bay seasoning in Maryland for all steam crabs. And then you sit down as a family and you pick crabs together and talk, and drink iced tea and beer, and corn on the cob, all together as a family at a big table! When Marylanders go to restaurants, they order crabs by the size, (large, jumbo, colossal), and they usually all come with old bay seasoning?! Now, sir, you are somewhat educated on crabs in Maryland, and that’s from your good buddy Mr. fat daddy. 💛** there’s something secret you should order next time you’re at a seafood restaurant if they have it, and it’s called “crab imperial, and also something different called “crab fluff.
Please try one of those two things next time you’re at a Maryland quality seafood restaurant! You will be not disappointed at those two entrées.❤❤❤❤Love ya Matt…😂😂

But they Definitely Need to give More Mashed potatoes. They probably Don't, because when ppl Look at the Plate, in Comparison, the crab cake Will look Even Smaller. That's Why they don't give you More.
Also the Same Reason for Skinny Asparagus, to Appear Smaller than the Crab Cake so the Crab cake will Look Bigger .
